[Deonis Harik]

Deonis stood by a table in his just too small suit of black on black with a red tie that didn't quite match but instead brought out the red in his skin. His long black hair in a braid that fell to his upper back . He was clearly a little out of his element with his yellow eyes moving around the party this way and that, scanning strangers who came too close.

He took a sip from his drink and shook his head wondering why he ever thought he could help with an assignment like this.

[Meiyokashi]

Coming up to him from the side in a blind-spot created by a glance one direction rather than another. A perfectly seized opportunity within the crowd to mask her approach. Similarly masked within the force, especially for a woman of her ability in an event like this.

Allura wore a conservative but sleek velvet dress with a long sleeve on one arm that did not have one to match on the other. Looking up to him the 12th quirked her brow, looking away when she spoke, "I wonder- what does a former inquisitor do? Where do you go? I cannot imagine the skills transfer well into other disciplines."

He tightened in many senses his focus sharpened and his muscles tensed hearing that voice but of course she would be here. He turned slowly to look at her the bright yellow of his eyes standing out amongst the crimson surrounding them "He mostly tries to live his life. Does some good when he can. Tries to balance the scales."

He forces himself to relax a bit "besides I was never truly an inquisitor. Not fully at least."

[Allura]

"No.. you weren't, it was disappointing. You had potential," she glances around the room, searching for someone. Though she wouldn't find them yet and so for now, "It seems even one such as you can disappoint in your nature. Should have been such a wonderful hunter and now you're.. living in slums, attending important mixers, I wonder why," she smirks, tapping a finger along the rim of a glass gingerly held in her hand.

"I have potiential." He corrected her "I just refuse to be someone's dog. I chose to find my own path." He gave her a look and well he knew he didn't hate her, she and the other inquisitors were just as much victims as he was. Tortured into the darkside. No he didn't hate her just the people she served.

He took a sip from his drink "Man can't enjoy a good party?"

[Allura]

"He can, but there's always a greater purpose for why people like us do things do not try to fool me there," she laughs, briefly. Inhaling and exhaling slowly, "So you choose a path through the grime and muck, wading around in it. When you could have been so much more, a hunter. A shame, but- if we continue this dance we'll be at it all night and I've a mind to keep my mood light."

"Have you seen our Sister yet? Dear 14? She's been.. having a touch of trouble after she jumped the gun again, failed to kill.. well, her former match," she chuckles briefly.

"It's not my first choice." He replied curtly before shaking his head "I have not seen her. Why weren't you there helping her? Was taunting me so important?" He asked with a raised eyebrow ridge.

[Allura]

"She, was supposed to wait. You know how she gets," she says with a sourness to her tone as she looking across the party, away from his direction.

"I'm sure the emotions are making it worse. It wouldn't be the first time someone got attached to their match." He said his tone drifting toward neutrality.

"Looking for someone in particular?" He asked as he noticed her looking out into the party.

[Allura]

"I believe she's just a petulant child with anger issues who needs an outlet. A traitor, now that's a good outlet for rage for anyone. Attachment though, as you suggest?" she smirks, shaking her head. "No, far too childish for that. I doubt the poor girl has much a thought in her head half the time. Just the simple one's.. murder, death, kill, maim, torment," she gives a wave of her hand and roll of her eyes.

Taking a sip of her drink she let that settle a moment before returning to, "Yes, you know me," she looks to him with a brief smile, "I'm always looking for someone. And no," looking away, "I won't tell you."

"Wonder how she got that way." he muttered into his drink as he took another sip. Most of the inquisitors got there either by torture or corruption. Deonis didn't know all of their stories but he knew the more violent unhinged ones tended to come from the torture route.

At her reply he smirked "Yes. Always one for your mysteries and secrets. Never much of a point to it all. Sometimes I think you just like it." In truth he had liked her more than some of the others, certainly better than the borderline psychopaths that crazed violence. Allura was kind, in her own way, when she wanted to be. Plus one could actually have a conversation with her sometimes. She had treated him better than most.

eventually he sighed "Why?" it was a loaded question but she was likely clever enough to know what he was asking.

[Allura]

"Always," she confirms with a slight nod, sipping at her glass. Looking to him as a curiosity with the question as it came and smiling as she pulled the glass from her black colored-lips once more. "Why? You know that's a poor attempt at luring me in and I'm a far better hunter, or more cunning prey, than to follow that one in. I'm afraid you're going to have to be more specific.." she gives him a wink.

he sighed again setting his drink down "see thats one of your problems, youre always on. Not every moment is a hunt, at least doesn't have to be." he growled a little in frustration "You know damn well what I'm asking about. Why come to me in my home? Why arm me? I may not be your equal but you and I both know anything can happen when fighting with those."

He turns to face her more fully anger on his features for a moment but then he paused and took a breath amusement coming to his face "I just don't understand you sometimes." he said a little softer as he looked at her eyes and chuckled "Most of the time."

[Allura]

"Oh, I know," she remarks, the thought directing her gaze toward her sleeved arm as she raised it slightly. Yet, despite this she smiles briefly. A small shake of her head to dismiss the thought for the moment, "So you consider me an enigma sometimes? Wonderful," she says with an almost insidious grin, just barely restrained for the other company at this party.

"You always did love a good mystery." he said with a chuckle relaxing into the situation a bit. They were here at a party and were unlikely to start trying to kill each other here.

"So any chance you'll tell me why you're here? Just for 14s partner or...?" he let the question dangle

[Allura]

"On Bellionas? Yes, that is why we were sent. Oh.. how much more we found. Another errant brother," she glances to him with a smile, "and potential for much much more," she exhales heavily with the anticipation. "Plenty of potential outcomes we've found here.. why, we may not even be able to claim them all ourselves," she turns now to him, like a proper conversation.

"I doubt.." she glances around briefly, a playful smile, "I doubt Lord Vader or the Grand Inquisitor will be disappointed with our progress. Despite what mess 14 has made of the situation with Arwen. After all.. where I am concerned it is only a matter of time, but I'm overstaying and should move on," she offers her sleeved hand to Deonis alike proper ladies in the noble circles.

his lips set in a hard line at her words mostly at the mention of those two individuals though Vader more than the Grand Inquisitor, hate now did come to his eyes but only for a moment, flaring bright extra yellow for a second before cooling again.

He took her hand and laid a gentle kiss on the back of it as he'd seen people do from time to time "If I see you out and about will things be as cordial?" he asked with a feigned coolness as he released her hand "or should I expect our next meeting to be a bit....flashier?" he asked raising one eyebrow ridge.

[Allura]

"As always," she says, stepping back once he releases her hand. Raising her arms to place herself on display, "dress for the occasion and everyone will know what to expect," she smiles, "Till next we meet Deonis, whether we dance or talk," she nods, walking away.

"Good thing I polished my dancing shoes. Just in case." He said with a bittersweet grin as he watched her walk away. Part of him still hoped she could be saved but he had a feeling it wasn't him that would be able to make it happen.
