He nodded "the beasts are a symptom. The spirit is the disease. It won't make things balanced but it'll help."

[Sholua Tempes]

"All things in balance. There is a light spirit as well. A white fox. I get the feeling it isn't as strong as the dark one right now."

She held her glass, staring at the remaining beer.

"I didn't think of this before now. There cannot be dark without light or light without dark. Perhaps we should be strengthening the light spirit rather than combating the dark."

He thought for a long moment "...maybe. I have met the little fox. It is peaceful and cute. Not sure we could strengthen it enough to fight the spirit. The dark spirit in the swamp. It's different. Unnatural. The wolf. The beast with red eyes. That's the natural manifestation of darkness. I think."

He drew into himself for a moment "interesting idea. I have no idea how to do it."

"I don't know about them fighting, but being strong enough to offset each other?"

Another stare at the glass in her hand.

"Not really the place to discuss this, but it'll confuse the kriff out of any ISB eavesdropper."

"Maybe. Probably an issue for another time. We have more immediate threats." He said looking around the party.

He gave her a look for a moment "ISB isnt who I'm worried about. More who they report to." He nodded "you're right but we should get together. Talk about it more. Some other time."

"If we have time. Things seem to be moving now."

He nodded "Dealing with this whole thing will be for later. Storm is almost here."

"Rainy season. Not my favourite. Always washes the worst of the Upper city down to the Lower. Probably more so this year."
