Mixer Martial Arts (Open, 3)

Following immediately from here.

"Stupid basic-training grunt thinks he knows how to throw a punch. I hope you break your hand closing a fist like that..." The Zeltron muttered under her breath.

The pastel yellow-suited Zeltron put some distance herself from the military grunt who she was conversing with just a few moments ago. She probably wasn't really looking where she was going, preoccupied with herself as she was seething, until she bumped into the open bar. Ah, just the remedy she was looking for. She slapped a hand on the surface to make her demand with the bartender, resting closely with an elbow. "A Long Asteroid iced tea, double on the alcohol!"

"Classy choice." Leaning up against the bar not far away Tenzing nodded and looked over to where the Zeltron's thuggish conversation partner had started shooting his mouth off at another guest. "You'd be forgiven for making it a triple, there's some...ah, characters in tonight."

Raising his 'Old-Republic Old-fashioned' he gave her a friendly smile. Tens had really scrubbed up nicely and was sporting a well-tailored bergundy shirt and dark suit to go with his carefully trimmed facial hair. Maggie's influence has made something of a mark.

'Dimples' having escaped her for a moment of personal panic about his promotion prospects in the refresher meant that Sholua was alone for now. Sauntering over to the bar the red sequined mini dress she'd chosen for the night swayed with her and she spotted a Zeltron! Now those were always good for a party, and that was the pistol marksman from a couple of weeks back with her. 'Dimples' forgotten, she slotted in next to Soleene and caught the bar person's eye.

"Bottle of Hartmann's Pilsner, please."

"Oh, you really think so?" She shot back at Tenzing with a raised brow as she ran her hand through her short length of electric blue hair. "I thought it was more of thing spring breakers just keep ordering to get drunk during their stay on Zeltros. That said, I kind of like them, it's always been a guilty pleasure of mine...so classy, that's a new one to me."

She took a glance behind her and sighed. "I thought we were supposed to be the characters tonight. You know, giving them the vapours and making them swoon on their feet, that type of stuff. I didn't know that they had enough bite to talk back. You march in one parade and you suddenly think you've seen a thousand battles."

Eventually, the Zeltros was given her drink and she gave a roll of her eyes, packing up her drink without looking...only to be met with a faceful of straw, umbrella and some slices of fruits. Why does she always let the umbrellas get her? "Skriff!" She blurted out before plucking out the umbrella and tossing it over her shoulder unceremoniously.

She nodded to Sholua as she approached beside her, once again when she made her order. "That's probably a more 'real' drink there.

"Definitely and it never comes with an umbrella. In the bottle is best, but I expect here they'll . . . . . . ah they did."

Her drink arrived, poured into a glass. There went the idea of carrying an improvised weapon around with her.

Tenzing smiled at Solene's reply. "Didn't you hear? This party is full of the great and the good of Bellionas." Lowering his voice he added. "Actually the rich and those with the most firepower but there you go."

He raised his glass for a sip, doing his best not to laugh at the umbrella antics, and offered a little toast to Shoula, nodding. "Here's to you my friend. Been a while." They hadn't seen each other since the tunnel fight and flight so he was glad to see she was doing well.

"It has."

She was looking at him as if trying to remember something. Why did she have the inkling idea that she'd ordered him around before? And not in the tunnel.

"Maybe you could have ordered a Hartmannrita...then they could potentially get both the bottle and the umbrella!" She suggested off-handedly before doing her best to hide a grimace. "I don't think you could pay me to drink one of those, however."

While she did ditch the umbrella, she did keep the fruit. She took to take out a slice of citrus and took a small nibble from it. "You know...I thought I was missing out from this place when I saw it from the outside but after hanging out here for a bit, I know that I'm not really missing all that much...I'm all high-society'ed out."

"But I guess it's not all for nothing, there are some okay people here...Do you two know each other?" She said as she looked between both of them.

"We did some work together a few weeks back . . . "

She was beginning to think along a line she really didn't like.

"Yeah. It was pretty intense. We worked well together though. Reminded me of days gone by. Past lives if you will." He shrugged. Those days were gone now. And in the past, they must remain.

A long thoughful moment passed before he returned to the conversation. "I used to come here from time to time. Usually chasing high society criminals, but criminals all the same. Don't let the decor fool you." He winked at Soleene and took another sip.

"Been here a couple of times before. To work though, and I kinda know the owner. Or used to."

She was staring at Tenz now.

"You know, it was pretty intense back then but now we're not thinking at a million miles a second, you do look very familiar."

Tenzing smirked. "I get that a lot." There was that vague sense of familiarity hanging over the Mirialan but he couldn't quite place it. He didn't recall knowing a poledancer before.

"Oh, you know Saph? Maybe I saw you here." He sipped at the drink. It was pretty smooth, Saph made sure they had the best cocktails in the city.

"Most of my contact with Saph was back at the . . . previous establishment."

Yes, it was definitely a 'giving out orders' memory and she only did that for certain customers and he was not one of those . . . or . . .

"Oh tschad . . . . you're one of those aren't you?"

"A few weeks back?" The Zeltron nodded soundly like it wasn't a big deal. It seemed that many people around here had jobs, right? "If you ran into each other here again, would this be considered work or leisure?"

"Oh, I don't doubt scum exists in all aspects. This one just has a minimum cover fee at the door. I'm sure that is a way of keeping certain people off their backs...and also catering to a different clientele at the same time." She said before taking another sip after another nibble of fruit.

She slowly looked between the two, wondering if the green one was going to have a breakdown or some crashing revelation soon. "Uhm, so...You can call me Sol...Yeah, Sol."

The exclamation was a bit much. He casually looked around to make sure no-one was listening too closely. "A cop? No, I'm not on the force any more if that's what you mean..."

"Hi Sol, I'm Tenzing." He offered a hand.

"Sholua."

She actually managed a smile at Soleene and kept herself calm.

"Tenzing . . . . so TZ something something? Or is that a dead name now?"

The guy had been friendly and helped. He just couldn't be one of those that shot her, could he?

A flicker of a smile greeted the question. "Shoula. Huh. Well not quite but you're almost there. You just got it the wrong way around. NG-1010, but I stopped going by that when I left the Army."

He raised his glass and took a sip. There had been a young Mirialan Padawan back when he took the post on Bellionas. She'd be about the right age...

"Tenzing, nice to meet you," she said shaking Tenzing's hand firmly and nodding to Sholua as well. "And you, Sholua."

"What is that, former Imperial?" Sol would ask with a raised brow before taking a long sip.

She knew all ten designations in the squad she'd taken down into the Lower City depths ten years ago off by heart. NG-1010 had not been one of those ten. She visibly relaxed a few notches.

"Sho - lua. Not Shoula, Mr Tenzing. So you've said you're not a cop, so what do you do?"

That Mirialan he was thinking about was dead. The records said so. The squad hadn't brought back a body though . . .

"Nah. Former soldier in the Grand Army of the Republic." Before the dark times. Before a bunch of his brothers flipped out and started shooting people.

Tenzing's spellchecker was the bane of his existence.

"Ah, my mistake. Sholua, gotcha." He nodded and finished his drink. "These days I mainly find missing people, or things. Sometimes I help people stay missing, find new lives elsewhere, that sort of thing. I suppose you could call me a Private Investigator. Occasional bounties. Take out the trash. All sorts."
