Qar wasn't trying to draw attention to himself, so he lingered at the sidelines, sipping drinks, watching the ebb and flow. And yet he was conspicuous enough, also because of his fashion choice, for someone to take note of him were they looking for less than banal conversation.

"Hors d'ourves are always too small at these things, don't you think?" The large sharkman munched on something that was on a tiny skewer, before making sure to dispose of it. Needing to clear his mind, he walked the perimeter of the party, till he came across the mirialan.

"Not a bad shindig. Not the worst, anyway."

"My pro-tip is not to come hungry to such places." The Mirialan replied with a small smirk and a dismissive gesture indicating he wasn't meaning to be competition for the appetisers. "I wonder how many shins have been dug here though."

"Probably more nose in rear accidents here." He responded, looking to the man. "Good plan, though. Coming in full also helps keep your wits about you." Phroth chuckled with the gesture, leaning back against a wall, then grabbing a drink as one walkee past.

"They should have had some music. Keep this thing lively."

"I don't think you'd enjoy the kind of music they'd choose." War sipped his own drink. "But yeah, I'd expect a dancing opportunity out of a good party."

“Oh, did I hear you want to dance?” Nelk comes from behind Qar and runs her hand along his shoulder before coming into view. “I saw you, flirting with that woman earlier. Who was she? Maybe she’d dance with you.” Nelk then looked at the shark man and introduced herself. “My name is Nelk, I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure.”

"I always want to dance." He replied, having given her a brief peripheral glance before she came into full view. "But here, conditions aren't met. A smirk appeared. "She was someone. And maybe she would, on another occasion. Why the sudden jealousy? In short supply of dancing partners?"

"Perhaps I am." Nelk smirked and looked Qar up and down. "Nice suit. Aren't you going to say anything about my dress?"

"Nice dress." He said with a small smirk. "A drink?"

"Thank you, I think green looks good on me. Sure," she smiles.

There was a joke there that would be a commentary to her words and would involve a green drink but Qar didn't go that way, remembering what she preferred. He moved to the bar where the shark man was and poured her airag, then returned to his prior place and offered it wordlessly.

"kind of you to remember," she says and takes the drink from Qar. I saw you won the race, I won a little too." Nelk takes a sip of her drink. "Where'd you learn to drive like that?"

"You learn such things by doing them with some frequency. So, wherever there was a race." He returned to his drink. "Congratulations on a sound investment then."

She raises her glass to him before taking a sip. "I like to go with my gut, I had a good feeling about you." Nelk reaches out and puts her hand on Qar's wrist. "So, Qar, what brings you to Bellionas? Aren't there more lucrative raceways in the galaxy?"
