Teen angst in a blue bottle (Racer kid Korvin Q&A)

This game has been great and I have no idea what to say here, but I find these threads are super helpful for me making sense of where a character is headed, so please ask me anything about Korvin and I'm happy to respond.
Just don't ask who I thought would be the girl to drag poor Korvin into all this resistance stuff. I mean, I'll answer, but it's hilariously ironic.

*ruffles Korvin's hair*
You're alright, kid.
*stamps him with seal of approval from Mando Mom*
What was the idea to playing a rich kid standing up against the Empire?
What happened with the Tybalt storyline?

Tybalt's always watching -- including at the big race. But that's probably more a seed for the future, as unless Korvin disappears into rebelliousness, working for the company formerly known as the Hikarrin Group is kinda what he's gotta do. Especially now that he broke the bank on that fancy gun.
Korvin's the rich kid that thinks rich kids suck, based on his experience with them. So, you know, no emotional problems associated with identity at all. /sarcasm
Korvin was always primed to oppose the empire like his dad had opposed the republic, but there are some nuances, like his third -hand sense from his dad that maybe Jedi weren't the problem. And there's a thread of young rich kid "I'm gonna live forever" in there, even though he consciously knows that being taken by the Empire is terrible/worse than death. Dying nobly for the cause sounded relatively good to him in the last days, so now he'll have to figure out what to do with himself.

Korvin was great fun to RP with, and it pretty much fell into place how our friendship worked right from that pre-game scene.
You nailed the angsty (rich) teenager perfectly imho
Where will he go next? Seems like someone should stick him in an X-wing.

Yeah, they really clicked with basically no effort. Not sites Korvin will forgive Tens for introducing him to Mallory(!), but otherwise a great partnership.
Korvin's gotta figure out what he wants to be when he grows up. The resistance was a great distraction from figuring out his future, but now that he's through "the big day," he'll have to make a decision of some kind.
He would be a hell of a starfighter pilot, although I'm not sure how well Sense works in a cockpit.

Heya! I really enjoyed Korvin as a character and I think you played him extremely well! It was fun playing the teenagers off one another!!

You think you can say things like this and not get asked?
OK, you can. Reveal things on your own schedule.
I really loved how hard Korvin and Varina committed to being (very, very different) teenagers. It was a lot of fun to see in all his various threads. I also really appreciated these two together as the local kids from different worlds finding their way into this Rebellion--next to one another but through very different emotional paths.
So like...is Dhel first crush? Or just Resistance crush? How long is it going to take for him to realize he and Petra at least have missing Dhel in common? And how intensely is that going to annoy Petra? (OK, you can't answer that one)
More seriously, thanks for dropping that very early chance to feel out that side of Dhel, and sticking around for some of the shifts over the course of the game.
What changed the most for him over the course of the game? And where did it shift?

Just a stupid, vague-booking kind of joke. My timeline is when asked.
During previews, I was thinking Petra might be the hook for getting Korvin into resistance stuff. I knew he could get love struck and dragged along by a pretty girl, which
sort of still happened, but since Dhel didn't pull him into the resistance directly, I ended up digging more into his parents history for why he would be at the hideout from D1.

Dhel was the first "beyond school" girlfriend, who was way cooler than he could have imagined, so he was totally trying to figure out what this kind of relationship was supposed to be like at the same time that he's living it. For a while, Dhel and the resistance were totally disconnected in his mind. But he got to a point of thinking, "Well, Dhel likes the resistance, at least for Petra, and I kinda like the resistance, but if there's a tiny chance Dhel will like me more for helping the resistance, I gotta do it." 17 year old boy logic.
It'll be interesting what Korvin and Petra's relationship is going forward. Especially since I question her ability/willingness to stay underground.

Initially, Korvin was really tepid about the resistance and could totally have walked away if someone gave him a reason. And I think there was a window where the Tybalt thing, the date at the Sapphire--some stuff was sort of pushing him toward being, at least from my perspective, dark side Korvin. And it took a (long) while to see how Dhel's "I'm not committed" philosophy actually helped keep Korvin from going that way -- what I just posted in their D11 thread maybe explains this better or maybe doesn't -- how she helped get him past that pathway. Call it a D11 breakthrough that I'm seeing it, but I think he's not quite so confused as I thought he was.

At our "life without Dhel" support group there'll be cookies and so much teen angst.

So have you thought about what it would mean to be the child of one of the more active members of the CIS government? I know I would have loved to have someone to bounce off of to reminisce about the hopeful days.

I think there's stuff for Korvin to explore there, but I boxed myself in a little by highlighting how Kevin's dad doesn't really talk about the old days. But he's gotten in-game motivation to explore that with his dad, and Korvin maturing a little makes it seem more "right" that he would ask about that history.
I think one of the interesting pieces also is Korvin's involvement with the resistance. He doesn't want attention falling on his dad because of him, so Korvin maybe only has a small window where he can still get some info before he needs to stop contacting his family to try to protect them. We'll have to see about that tension.
