[Day 6 - Late Morning] Taking A Hike

Now that the weather had miraculously cooled down on Bellionas, Soleene decided to take her own advice from earlier and venture to the Badlands. It wouldn't be an easy walk but she had grown up in a more metropolis setting and it made all of this rough surrounding slightly intriguing. Draped in her new thermal cloak, she followed the road to catch some sights from the more rough and tumble side of rural Bellionas.

As luck would have it, an object was breezing more or less her way, approaching fast.

Soleene turned curiously at the object and tilted her head, wondering what it was exactly. Her instincts told her to veer off the path. She didn't think she was this close to the Imperial academy, why would they do their flying here and so close to the ground? Too small for that, at least. Either way, she took a few side steps, just in case.

It was most definitely a speeder with its rider, revealing itself as such within the time frame of those several steps aside. Perhaps familiar.

Soleene considered what to do in this situation. She wasn't going to raise a hand to flag the ride down in case it was urgent, although she did stand by to face the direction of the oncoming vehicle with a straight glance and leave it to the rider to stop or not as stood on the sidelines.

Even without extra attention paid to the surroundings, a Mandalorian (hitch?)hiker would be hard to miss. Qar started braking in sync with decreasing energy inflow into the engine, and a smooth deceleration resulted, just with a bit of oomph at the final leg. Sometime during the process he'd recognised Soleene - or so he thought based on the armour - and so he could re-emerge into the slow-world with a welcoming grin.
"Could use that jetpack, Soleene."

Soleen found herself chuckling at the comment once she noticed that it was Qar and gave him another nod. "I could but I'm not exactly going to get it anytime soon. Thankfully, I'm not exactly lost in the middle of nowhere or in a hurry...yet. But yeah, hey Qar."

"Hey. So just globetrotting? Cataloguing rare pink-spotted lizards, kicking around for truffles, the like?" He got his hair in order just a bit, having them dishevelled because of notoriety of helmetless ride.

"I wouldn't go that far..." She laughed with a shake of her head. "I'd say more like taking a hike, climbing over some rocks and crossing some ditched. You know, things that make a city girl feel like she's really making a difference and roughing it out here...then I'm going to head back to the city in the afternoon and sip on some ice caf or something."
She gestured to him. "Are you the outdoor sort? You have to be with your stories, I'm sure. Or did you go so fast that there wasn't even time to camp?"

"So, a city girl? I guess I can picture you somewhat better now. At least I have some idea of your fashion sense: skinnies and a baggy sweater with a tooka on it, and a long dangling scarf? Under the armour, I mean." He laughed.
"Me? I am the road to nowhere in particular sort. As long as there's an ahead, I'll ride toward it. But here and now? I'm prepping for the race a bit, I guess."

"Hah..." She snickered as he caught that bit. "Was, anyway. I haven't really been sticking to any cities for long to be much of that but I guess you can't really take the city completely out of me. Money being tight makes the biggest difference but thankfully I've never owned any of that junk. Before going around the galaxy and punching people in the throat, I guess I was trying to make rent...and punching people in the throat."
"You just keep going until dawn then, huh? That must make those pit stops pretty vital then."

"I sense a pattern here but can't pinpoint it. Windpipe angst?" He snickered. "And yeah, checking the vitals and getting the screws right once in a while is important. But Aratech knows its shit and this one isn't too needy." He patted the bike.

"If that's what you would call it, sure," she bobbed her head once.
"I didn't your ride for the flat-road only sort. It seems that half of the rides out there seem to look just fine in a show but I don't know how well it'll do once they go over a speedbump."

He smirked wryly.
"You can find out the answer from experience if you want."

Soleene turned her head slightly as she put her hands on her hips and gave Qar and his ride a look over. There were some gears turning in her head before she answered. "Hm? What are you offering? You're going to lend me your ride for the day, just make sure to return it with the gas tank filled up?"

"After the race, sure." He smirked, having somehow enjoyed her thoughtful pause. "Today I'd rather stay behind the handlebars so the best I can offer this morning is the passenger seat for a cross-country cruise."

"What, really? That's going to be a no?" Soleene seemed a bit disappointed before she chuckled. "Hah. Nah, I didn't think you would but I had to try. I don't think I would in your circumstances either, so I don't blame you! So this is part of your practice earlier? If you don't mind not going at top speeds, I think I'll be willing to take you up on that offer."

"I suppose I can control my urges and manage a speed more conducive to sightseeing." He smirked. "And hey, I haven't said no! After tomorrow, you can well try it out."

Soleene lifted her chin slightly and snickered. "That easily and as soon as tomorrow? That sounds too good to be true. I'm going to guess that you're probably thinking that you're going to win and trade up on a ride."
"But sure, let's go for a spin," she might have smirked and made her way to join Qar on his ride, holding on like last time. "Do you know some scenic routes around here?"

"That may or may not be the case." He laughed after her first statement. "Except for the winning part. That much is certain."
He glanced over his shoulder at the visor while he was restarting the engine. "I'm not local so nope, but the higher the more scenic? How about riding up and along that ridge for the panorama? Maybe you'll spot something more distinct on the way."
