[D9, MM] Hardware upgrade?

Korvin stares at the scorched dummy for a short time, debating. Finally, he pulls the blaster power pack again and walks over to the couch. He sets down the power pack, the blaster, and a different, slightly larger case of chips than he'd pulled out upstairs. Reaching into his jacket again, he pulls the original case, snaps it open, and removes several chips. The loose chips disappear back into the jacket as the case with the remainder is added to the little assembly on the couch.

"As long as it can be done in time," he stresses that requirement, "then it's full customization. I want the [Custom Grip], the [grip modded for Accurate +1], the [Superior Weapon Customization]. No messing around," he says with a serious look that will impress Mallory not at all, but he has to use anyway.

[Mallory]

"I can find someone," she says, walking over she pulls the case into her view and starts sorting through it. Getting an idea of the credits on the table she slowly starts growing a small frown. Shifting the case back to him she looks him dead in the eye and crosses her arms. "Look, this is a different world you're dealing with kid. You want a rush job, through a middle man? They're gonna ask for more than bare prices.. probably a thousand credits more. Usually more but.. I got a few friends in the business, they'll do it cheaper. That's without what worth is in it for me.." she pauses, glances to Tenzing, "unless someone's calling in a favor?"

Having rescued the beer Tenzing handed it over to her. He then looked very seriously at the kid. "What Mallory said? She's right. That shot was one in a million, and that attitude ain't doing you any favors." There was definitely more than a hint of disappointed dad.

Job done he looked back at Mallory and nodded. "Now we know he can shoot. Time's an issue. I'll owe you one, but I'll cover your costs." He'd had a payday after all.

"We'll talk details later then," she says, giving a nod toward Tenzing.

Korvin simmers with barely contained irritation. The scolding from Tens bothered him much more than Mallory's condescending head-flick, and he closed his eyes as he tried to calm himself and not mess this up. Tens is really trying to help me out... Gotta be ready for tomorrow... Gotta protect Dhel... If the others were watching, he looked a bit like he'd fallen asleep for a moment, unmoving as he tried to sink deep away from the angry things at the top of his mind.

When he opened his eyes and spoke, it was a softer, tired voice, but add least it wasn't angry. "Thank you, for being willing to help," he says to Mallory. "And thanks, Tens, for everything," he says, turning toward his friend.

"You're welcome," she flicks him on the head again.

Korvin's eyes close and he forcefully but controllably exhales through his nose.

[Mallory]

With the briefest- rarest of smiles she looks to and walks over toward Tenzing, collecting her beer from him again with a nod. "Kids.. rough, but he's got spirit," she says, taking a drink.

[Tenzing]

Tenzing clinked his bottle against hers. "Sure does." He grinned at Korvin. "Hey, no problem. Gotta look out for your friends, right?"

Even faint praise will get a smile from Korvin at this point, and Tens affirming their friendship practically makes him beam.

"So, when it's ready," he says, sounding revitalized. "How do I... Like am I picking it up back here, or is that not how this works?"

[Mallory]

"Where do you want it?" she glances to Korvin, the clink still ringing as she takes a long drink. Knocking it back in the space between question and answer.

Korvin's face freezes as a frantic internal debate rages about how best to get the piece back. Finally, deciding that it's the best call among bad options, he quietly says, "There's a ship at the spaceport. My girlfriend's place," he says with an undercurrent of groan, knowing that he'll get some crap from these two about it--and that's far from what makes him unhappy about this plan.

[Mallory]

"Tomorrow, it'll be there- and yes, that's a pretty damn good rush job," she says, uncharacteristically wordily.

[Tenzing]

Tenzing smiled and finished the beer. He had raised an eyebrow at the comment about the girlfriend's ship as he didn't recall Dhel owning one. Still it all seemed to be working out.

With the weapons all currently put away he walked over and set the bottle up on what remained of the dummy's head. "Might be headed off planet in a few weeks."

Korvin nods at Mallory's statement. "I appreciate that. Thank you. Again."

He glances up at Tens' comment, curious what's happening in a couple of weeks, but he limits his reaction to a questioning look.

[Mallory]

"I'll be gone before then myself," she shrugs, taking a swig from her beer. Whisking it around at the wrist she gets a. Idea on how much more liquid is in the bottle, it isn't much and there's the barest hint of a sigh, "probably."
