[Day 5 - Early Evening] The Hutt Job

With the intel given, some quick reconnaissance work done and a plan put together...it was time to get their man.

Soleene would bring her usual self, which was easy as she only had one role to play and that was being herself. Hopefully, they could coax their target to somewhere more manageable to do the deed. If things got ugly, she supposed they would be somewhat prepared for that too. They were hoping for alive and hopefully what's the same conclusion their target would come to unless he preferred to be dead.

Deonis, much like Soleene, came only as himself fully armored and with his large sword strapped to his back but with a cloak wrapped around his form to somewhat obfuscate his obviously armed nature.

He nodded to the mandalorian "Soleene."

"Deonis," she would say in return with a nod. If she was having doubts about the plan or showed any concerns, it didn't show over all that armour. She could say the same regarding her partner.

Like the day a couple weeks prior Soleene could mark out easily now the familiar faces among the people out and about by the front entrance to the building. There were even a couple that were likely residents of the building that she recognized. Groups hung around and chatted with one another, some outside to smoke a cigarette or whatever else their poison was.

She was there; seemingly dressed as lightly as she was before in the defense department. It was possible she had a new item or two with her; hidden somewhere on her person out of immediate sight; but regardless she seemed woefully lacking in combat capabilities compared to the two armored individuals.

"So," she said on her approach, "How do we intend to do this?"

"We know exactly where he's hiding," she said pointing up to the reinforced balcony she saw on her first trip here. "But I imagine that is our last resort. We could always just stroll in there and yank him out of his hiding place. We can always attempt to enter from the side buildings but it's a far jump."

"I figured one of us could give him the call, tell him we want to buy and we want to meet. Maybe we can make a convincing enough case and he decides to get social." She turned to look at the two in alternation. "Who is the best at fibbing here?"

She sighed and gestured to the building. "If that doesn't work...It looks like a fully functioning building. Maybe we can pull the fire alarm to put the scare in him, make him leave, and hit him in the open. I'm sure we can put a few shots into the balcony from an adjacent building to add further to the confusion before all of that too, which might pull a few to check that out."

She raised a hand at the question of fibbing.

"Perhaps through one of his underlings. Spin a tale of a rival cartel faction looking to oust the Wraiths and cut a mutually profitable deal. Convince the underling that if he pleads our case, he stands to increase his own standing, ensuring he will help sell whatever story we spin next. Use to underling to try and convince the target to come down to us. Then convince him to take a walk with us, just him, us, and his most trusted bodyguards, away from the bugs and bought muscle the Wraiths have put into place. Lean on that paranoia of his."

Who could be as big as the Hutts? She thought momentarily. Actually, she really didn't want to think about that other cartel.

She gave a slow nod at Tyllia. "That's a solid story, if a bit elaborate. Maybe these cartel sorts will eat it all up. All right, make the call."

"It would work better in person," she said, looking toward the entrance of the building. "You have observed this place, have you not? Point out one of their street operatives. Ideally one with some clout."

Assuming that Soleene would do so, Tyllia would not and head toward said individual.

There was a skeptical tilt of Soleene's head when she mentioned that she wanted to speak in person. There seemed to be all sorts of variables in play with that, especially appearances. Nevertheless, she wasn't going to stall the proceedings and indeed motioned her to one of the patrolling groups. It seemed doubtful that they were part of a benevolent neighbourhood watch.

As Tyllia approached with purpose the individual gave a glance toward one of the others about, alerting him. That done he faced Tyllia, looking to her expectantly.

[Very sorry! I misread the last couple of posts and was waiting mistakenly T-T]

"You..." she said; adopting the guise of 'very important person'... a feat really not all that hard for her.

"...I believe you work for the Gand, do you not? Before you deny it or bark some common phrases of hostility at me, you should know I am neither someone you need deny these things to, nor someone whom you ought to antagonize. Your boss and I have common ground."

She took a brief moment, as if to inspect him.

"...Are you... someone of... importance... in his organization?"

She suspected the answer was no, but by emphasizing that fact, she was setting up the next leg of this conversation.

Lowering his hand to his side he glared at her, his voice low, "Who are you?"

"You are aware of the troubles your boss is facing, are you not? With these... Wraith sisters."

She made it seem as if she had a distinct distaste for them.

"Let's be honest, you are just hired help. I do not expect you to understand the intricacies of cartel politics. But I am sure you at the very least understand the concept of... internal competition? The sisters answer to another, who in turn answers to a Hutt above them, who then in turn answers to another. There's a *different* set of people within my own chain of allegiance. And somewhere along that chain, there is someone who dislikes someone along the chain of the sisters."

A brief pause. "You are following what I am saying to you, are you not?"

[let me know if i need to roll some deception at any time]

There was a blank look on his expression as he parsed the information.

[Not sure if the Corrupted Crystal only gives her an automatic DS if she's actually holding the lightsaber, or also if it's on her person. If so, I will use that to generate 1 sux. If not, I will use Channel Agony instead to do the same, please let me know which one is applicable]

[So long as it's properly on her person. Like, if it was tucked away in a backpack for example I'd say no.]

She had to tap into the force to give her words that little bit of edge to them needed to convince this guy she was on the level...

...but presumably that's exactly what she accomplished.

[Alright, Corrupted Crystal it is, 1 conflict gained to get that sux]

Looking down on Tyllia the guards expression wasn't letting up, he didn't believe her. All he saw before him was some rich-kid trying to play cool for their friends or to get their rocks off. That was when he saw it, a shadow washing over.. no, through her eye and the menacing glare behind it. Suddenly the brief chill, the animosity he felt off of her, his hand grew unsteady for a brief second and then it settled in.

"Not for me to say.. boss will judge," he says, and then gives a look to some of the other guards about. "Come with me," he says, and starts to lead her into the lobby where a few others have stepped up waiting to receive her.

She considered trying to convince this one right here and now to get the boss to come outside instead. But she didn't think that would work. So, instead, she went with it.

Presumably her companions had either decided to flank her as her bodyguards, or would linger nearby waiting for her to bring out their quarry or rush in at the sound of trouble. Either way was fine with her.
