He didn't have the connection he once had, but Jaxom had reestablished enough of a network to begin his search. He'd been given a mission and the first step was to find someone.

Jaxom got a call after putting out a couple that someone's seen the guy he was looking for. Having been spotted out at a cafe stop he was talking loudly with the proprietor who ran the place, old friends as it were. Heard talk the guy was going to head toward a nearby retailer for a nice casual suit for a potential date tonight.

Word was he was a little short, and hoping he'd be able to find something appropriate on sale.

He thanked his informant and closed the commlink. Hopefully, he could get to the retailer while the man was still there. He might even be able to help him with his purchase. With that in mind, he moved quickly.

Finding the place in question Jaxom had a fairly good idea of where the man might be.. but seeing as time was of the essence, he'd have to bring his skills to bare.

He looked around quickly, looking for his target.

Not only did Jaxom see his target, but that he wasn't the only person making a target out of him. Nearby among some of the coat-racks he spotted a young street kid lining up a shot on the guys pockets. Walking by with casual grace the kid managed to slip in, slip his credits out, and keep on walking down one of the lanes.

For a brief moment, he considered his options. Ultimately, he chose to intercept the kid, stepping in front of him and holding out his hand.

"Give his credits back and you can get out of here." He wasn't quiet about it.

Looking up to Jaxom the kid had that intense mortal fear to his eyes- like kids have when they get caught doing the worst thing they've ever done. Over the kids head he could see the man now searching his pockets, wondering if the "his" being referenced was in fact his.

"It's not worth the trouble it will bring down on you and yours. Trust me."

He was still weighing the options presented by the situation. Maybe that's why his tone wavered. Maybe he just wanted the kid to run.

Looking to Jaxom, then the exit, then Jaxom, "I'll.." he shoves the credits into Jaxoms hands before rushing off a few steps, looking back, and then rushing off.

With the look in his eye, Jaxom made a little-rival today.

Get in line, kid.

He walked over to the man he'd come to see and held out the credits.

"Yours, I believe."

[Meiyokashi]

"Oh- thank you, thank you!" he says, relieved as he takes the credits and then with both hands shakes Jaxoms. "I was so worried- I barely have enough for a good suit and if I'd lost these? I would have been out of luck completely.." he shakes his head, looking to Jaxom.

"Thank you.. if there's anything I could do to repay you, just say the word!"

"Just, don't hold it against the kid. I made plenty of mistakes when I was young." He offered his hand. "Jaxom Ursae."

[Meiyokashi]

"I'll.. try," he says, a brief look in the direction the kid ran. Looking back though he found a hand waiting for him, one he gladly shook. "Birt Risto, of the Risto family! Though-" he shook his head, the Risto's were once a family that had some merit but have fallen away from the public eye about a century ago. In fact, the only people who respect "Risto" as a name anymore are the Risto's themselves and former Risto.

He chuckled. "Mentioning the Ursae name usually earns me an angry glare. Do you have enough for your suit? I could loan you a few credits."

[Meiyokashi]

"I picked one out, but.. I can afford it, you've already saved my night once friend," he looks up with a broad smile. "Wouldn't be right for me to let you also pay for my suit, right? Though I did have my eyes on a nicer one.. she said she loves the color blue," he looks distant a moment, following that wishful thought.

"I could do you a favor for a favor." he suggested.

[Meiyokashi]

Immediately he looks suspicious, measuring Jaxom a moment.. but then looks to the blue suit he'd been hoping on. "Okay," he extends his hand, 'Favor for a favor. Let it never be said a Risto isn't a man of his word. What.. what's this favor?"
