Day 8, LE- The other guy's party

He would remove his armor only in certain rare cases and Imperial parties were not that. Without his armor and helm he would be recognised as a BX commando droid and likely sent to be compacted.

All that for the opportunity to mingle? Yeah right.

But there were other opportunities were he could relax and chat. He had been here already but now it was time for pool...pool amongst mandos.

''Su cuy'gar'' he voiced as he approached the location of the pool game, wondering who might be there, carrying proper refreshments.

As you approach, you see before you 3 Mandos standing around a wooden table, one of them clearly giving the others grief.

"You morons!" One Mandalorian stood there by some others. "Of all things you took, you took a pool table. A pool table?! There was bloody blasters there! Some nice hooch!" I took 3 bottles for meself. But you two brilliant folk took a large wooden table in order to hit some balls around. I coulda hit some balls for ya if that was what you were interested in!" The Mandalorian takes a small kick at one of the other Mando's crotch while laughing.

The other Mando, lacking anything to kick in that area, laughs as well. "Look, we need something more to do here. Recreation is important, y'know!" The first Mando sighs. "All well and good, but we gotta move around soon. Space is limited; Think we gonna prioritize weapons over this thing?" The second Mando looks on at the others. "I mean, since it's here already..."

The first Mando sighs deeply. "Fine...we can play a few rounds. Be nice to do something else for a chance." He turns over and see Toboga walk over and nods. 'Pirusti urcir, vod.". "Perfect timing. Seem to have miraculously come across a pool table. Could use one more, make it teams. Interested?"

Richo observed the scene as he approached laughing inwardly. This...this is what he had been missing so much. Three idiots arguing and kicking shit in the light of campfires and their ship's surround lights.

Familly

''That is why I am here friend!'' he said with a note of cheer and with a nod ''The theft of the table is already being talked about.'' he raised a pack of ale and put it on a crate that stood near

''But the question is: who is the lucky guy who will get me as a partner?''

The lady Mando raises her hand up. "I got that one. Take the handicap, give you boys a fair shot at winning." She grinned over at you while playfully nudging you on to hint at she was joking. She smiles and takes one of the ales. "And you even brought payment in advance! My kind of guy." The others laugh and take one of the ales from the crate. "Thank you much, friend." The first Mando said while grabbing one. "Got'n'eye to save that hooch for a special occasion. 3 bottles of Corellian brandy. Can't believe my luck."

The second Mando, looks at you and throws you a pool stick. "Could always put it up for the winner, mate. One of them bottles be a nice way to end the night. Share a round for the winner?"

The lady Mando nods her head. "Sounds like quite the challenge. May have to lose the handicap now."

''Oooh...a bottle of that quality as a prize? How generous of a proposition!'' he chuckled as he deftly cached the cue then turned towards the lady mando ''Don't be so hasty. I don't digest alcohol so the liquid is yours...I'll keep the bottle itself for bragging rights''

"Can't beat that offer, then. Back on the team." The lady spoke with a jovial tone as the others began to gather up the balls in place. The first Mando looks on at the two of you. "Simple 8 ball rules, then. Sink the 8-ball, game is over. Other than that, our esteemed guest can choose if he's going high or low."

The second one shrugs and smiles. "Right. After that, you shoot the white ball and have us who goes first. Needs to bounce off the end wall once to count, but one who's furthest from you goes first." The first Mando nods. "Look at you, mister pool master. Know all the fancy rules. Fine then, we do that."

((Pick highs or lows, then roll me a Cool ala initiative rules.))

He nods as well

''Fair enough'' he pondered for a second as he chalked his pool cue ''As they say: Go big or go home. We'll be going high''

You hit the ball and it looks pretty damn solid. Better than you were expecting, to be honest. However, it is clear that the other team was able to just slightly be further away by only a few inches.

Hit the Ball!: 2eA 2 successes, 2 advantage

"Hey, look at that!" The first Mando shouts. "Looks like we get to break, eh!" The lady Mando scoffs at the others. "Just makes it easier for us to sweep up." She looks at you and grunts a little. "Wouldn't worry about it, we still got this." She chugs the ale a little and starts to wrack up the balls.

~~
Rules of the game:
  1. You will making your shot with either Coordination or Athletics check at a average difficulty. On a failure, it becomes the next team's shot. The shot difficulty will increase by 1 for every shot after the first one. All advantages and threats will be carried over to the next roll you make at a 2:1 ratio for boosts and setbacks.
  2. You can choose to make a Education check prior to figure out the proper angles to make the shot work at a difficulty of your choosing (from easy to daunting). This will increase your athletics/coordination difficulty by 1, making it a hard check. Any advantages and threats gained from this check will be applied to the shot roll at a 2:1 ratio.
  3. A failure on the Education check means nothing, but you must still make the shot check at the increased difficulty. Passing the education check, but failing the shot check will have the other team's shot check upgraded by the difficulty by the number of difficulty dice you rolled for the Education check. (e.g passed the education check at a average check, fail the athletics or coordination check at a hard difficulty, the next person who rolls upgrades the dice twice, making them roll a base 2 challenge die.)
  4. On a Despair, one of your other player's ball is sunk in. A Triumph lets you knock in a additional ball for each one. On a Double Despair, the 8 ball is sunk in too early and the game is over.
  5. The final 8 ball shot will be made at a hard difficulty as standard, or upgrade the difficulty by 2 if continuing. Knock in all 8 balls to win!

The first Mando takes a chug of ale out of his mouth and starts to drink it a little before lining the shot. It's a pretty solid break! Balls scatter around the place, sinking in one of the solid color balls. There's a small smile on his step as he slides his way over to the next shot.

Calling the shot: 2eP+1eA+2eD 3 successes, 2 threat
ImageImageImageImageImage

The next shot he starts to plan it better, taking his time to aim
Education Time (Easy): 2eA+1eD+1eS 1 success, 1 threat
ImageImageImageImage

Shot time: 2eP+1eA+4eD 1 success, 1 threat
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

2 balls in so far! It was a good mess of it, looking down you, he struts his way over at the table. "Didn't realize you knuckleheads got this table just for me to show off! What a wonderful gift to me."

Shot time: 2eP+1eA+4eD 3 successes, 2 threat
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

The next shot went in, though it was starting to be a little bit more tricky. Next to some of your balls, coming close to where it shouldn't be. The look on his face was a little bit too uneasy as he carefully lined up his shot. It wasn't gonna work all that well, but it did give him a sense of confidence.

Education Time (Easy): 2eA+1eD+1eS 2 failures, 2 advantage

Education Time (Easy): 2eP+1eA+5eD 4 failures, 1 advantage, 1 Triumph

With that, he manages to sink in his ball, but along with it came the white ball. "Ahh, shit. Your turn, friend. Halfway there!"

(4 balls sunk)

''Lucky son of a gun'' Richo chuckled as he observed the display ''Your bottle does'nt want to leave you but I don't think we intend to give it much of a choice in he matter''

He observed the table for a second before leaning on the table and making his shot...which was almost perfect...almost.

At the last second the ball's spin made it curve a hair's breath away from the hole

''Well fuck me'' he shook his head in dismay

The lady Mando just rolls her eyes at you while the second guy takes his turn, swigging his beer. He takes the aim for it and, surprisingly manages to get two in at once.

Education Time (Easy): 2eA+1eD 0 successes, 2 advantage
ImageImageImage

Pool Shot: 1eP+2eA+1eB+3eD 3 successes, 3 threat, 1 Triumph
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

His luck, though, ran out as he sank the white ball into the hole and laughs. "Well, shit. Ahh well, we're getting closer!."

The Lady Mando, confident in her skills, takes aim and fires off. Unfortunately, it was rather bad...but, the good news was she placed it right in front of a whole lot of your own balls, making the next shot that much more difficult.

Pool Shot: 2eP+1eA+2eD 1 failure, 3 advantage
ImageImageImageImageImage

Pool Shot (Forgot 2 bonus): 2eB 1 success, 1 advantage
ImageImage

((Taking 2 advantages and making it 2 setbacks for other team))

Pool Shot: 2eP+1eA+2eD+2eS 2 failures, 2 advantage
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

The first Mando shrugs and struts around again, confident in his ability to win this match. Unfortunately, it was not well placed. He hit your ball as first and cursed a bit while the lady Mando smiled at him. "Not gonna make it easy on you."

She grinned and looked over you. "Alright, brother, make this one count!

((2 advantages added to one setback for the next shot roll))

''Of all the things that happened to me on this planet I refuse to let a pool table defeat me!''

The first shot was a solid one, no fanfare but a ball in.
Mando pool night, first shot, athletics, average: 3eA+1eP+2eD+1eS 1 success, 1 advantage
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

''At least my pride won't be totally killed tonight'' he commented while lining the second shot who pocketed another despite scattering those nearby

Mando pool night, second shot, athletics, hard: 3eA+1eP+3eD 1 success, 4 threat
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

The third shot did not go well at all but at least the other team earned no advantage

''So..'' he tried to begin small talk "...you guys prepping for a battle tomorrow? I am curious, mind to tell me about it?''

There was a polite clap as he gave from the first guy as the second guy lined up his shot once more, though they all get a little bit quiet and somber for a momen. "Something that's a long time coming, brother. Traitor to our ranks."

The second guy nods as he begins to take his shot as the lady Mando kills the rest of her ale. "Just some housekeeping we need to take care of, aye?" She says with a smirk while the others nod. "We'll be damn sure to clean their clocks, I'll tell you what..."

Pool Shot: 1eP+2eA+2eD 0 successes, 4 advantage
ImageImageImageImageImage

It's clear that they were somewhat distracted by the line of questioning to get the shot in properly, but they did put themselves in a nice line. She spent her time on this one, though, trying to put the two of you in a good position. Unfortunately, it didn't work, and now she left you both in a bad position as the first Mando began to take his shot.

Pool Shot: 2eP+1eA+3eD+2eS 1 failure, 3 threat
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

"Gonna be easier than beating the two of you in pool, I'd say." He laughed and did a beautiful shot right into the hole.

Pool Shot: 2eP+1eA+1eB 6 successes
ImageImageImageImage

Pool Shot (Forgot Difficulities): 2eD 0 successes, 1 threat
ImageImage

At last, the 8-ball came around the corner and it was a simple sink into the hole. The two men cheered as the lady Mando sighed. "Ya bastards. We let you win, you know!" She says, nudging you again, getting a little bit quieter as she spoke. "Don't stress over the loss, brother. I did just as bad as you."

Richo chuckled softly and patted her on the shoulder ''I am not mad, sister, that opening salvo was a hard hill to climb out of. We were not too bad in the end''

He gave a respectful applause to the other team

''Well done brothers. If you fight as well as you play pool the traitor's fate is already sealed.'' he gives a nod ''Those would be the one who betrayed the Rebuilder's hospitality, correct?''
