[D6 MM] My Eyes Led Me Here . . .

With the . . . mixed results of yesterday's adventures prominent in her mind, Sholua had some difficulty returning to the serenity of her vision. It had led her here though, so she was ready for anything she could think of.
Was it something she hadn't though?

Arriving on a speeder Kira and Cartess came together, finding a good spot to stash the vehicle Kira stayed behind while Cartess went up ahead with Sholua. Giving her a nod as they approached the village. In the early hours few were out, but she could make out the makeup of the village. Raised platforms walked over a central flooded paddy area where they grew some type of crop. Word around was that this was a place they produced an extremely rare spice that required very special tending and lead to small harvests for a lot of manpower. A whole town dedicated to just the small patch between their homes, protected from the swamp around them.
"This place is.. different, than the rest of the swamp," Cartess says with a brief smile.

"Very. The swamp . . . . is disturbing."
She looked at the small farm trying to see if it matched what she had seen of the life and death in her vision.

It was hard to tell, given the visual quality of a vision isn't pin-point as if one was using their eyes but worked in blotches that seemed to convey the image and meaning behind what was being seen. However, from what she could figure is that this seemed.. like it was possible. With the tree covering in the area and the way the opening for the village matches up in the canopy it seemed about right.

"This feels . . . looks . . . right."
She took a step forward, searching for anyone around.
"The life I saw. This was his home."

There was an older Twi'lek snoring a bit in a chair nearby, but a few others were milling about on the other side of the village near some kind of storage shed.
"Then let's start asking around.. said something about a woman right? First stop? Kira asked, looking between Cartess and Sholua.

"Yes, she was the one to lay a flower on the old man's body before the cremation."
She frowned. Had they been twi'leks . . . . ?

As she recalled the individuals she saw, the woman and the older man, were both human.
"Alright.. your lead," she says, walking up to Sholua's side and passing her a grin, 'but we're right here with ya if you need, right Tess?" she glances over her shoulder to Cartess who gives a nod with a smile spared as well.

With a nod to Kira, Sholua walked up to the storage shed, letting the old one sleep for now. Making sure she was seen and heard first by deliberately scuffing her boot on the ground as she got close. With a cheery smile she tried her opening gambit . . .
"Hi!"

As she approaches the group across the way she can begin to make out that the people here are of a greater variety of species than she would have expected at first given the general state of most of the Empire. When she approaches the group it was made up of one middle aged man and two younger, one male with split ancestry and the other a female Twi'lek.
It was the younger male who spoke first, a chuckle preceding, "Hi," she smiles as he looks to Sholua and then her friends. "Might I be able to help you folk with something?"
With the younger woman mumbling something to herself.
[Passive Perception Rank 1: Sholua can make out the mumble being, "Great.. more outsiders."]

Right, how do you say 'I had a vision of an old man's funeral out here and wonder what it was all about' . . . without saying you're Jedi . . .
She tried her friendliest smile, usually reserved for people she actually liked.
"Hi. I'm Sholua. I'd heard of a farm in the swamp many times over the years, but never quite believed it could be true. City living doesn't usually lead to thinking of a true light in the darkness."

"It is quite the light in the darkness, isn't it," a kinder voice than those gathered before her had. An older woman, middle aged by the look of her and with grey-brown hair that was tied back into a semi-intricate design. The others around immediately looked to her when she arrived, giving that unspoken show of respect.
"Would.. you and your friends like to share some morning tea with me?" she said, taking a look at Kira and Cartess, lingering on the latter of those two, but came back and smiled to Sholua pleasantly.

She kept her smile going, this was better than she had expected.
"It would be a pleasure."
She assumed Cartess, and Kira, would be happy with her taking the lead here.

They were, and confirmed as much with brief smiles- a nod from Cartess, as they followed in behind her. Together the group walked toward a small shack at the central lane that reached out to the edge of their little village. Opening the door the woman gave each gave a little instruction on how to use a brush by a mat near the front of her home, it knocked off some of the local flora and fauna that stuck to the bottom of soles a little better than most.
Inside the home was pleasant, there had been kids here some years ago but they've since grown up and moved on. It was the space of a lone mother, and Sholua could feel that in the air as she walked.
"Just around here I have a small kitchen, there's a table- please, make yourself comfortable," she said pleasantly as she helped Kira with the boot scrubbing by the door. Cartess, having finished as well, looked to Sholua with a smile and walked first into the kitchen. Taking her time and looking at some of the decorations the woman had around the place.

Sholua completed the boot scrubbing exercise as well and then entered, also looking at the decoration while trying to recall if the woman matched the one in her vision. The one that had placed the flower.

There was a distinct familiarity between that woman and the one here, but it would be hard to describe to others. As a force sensitive, one who's been trained, even without developing the particular skill there is that subtle feeling she can detect in another person like an imprint they leave in the force. This woman's was warm beyond most others but most importantly it did remind her of the one she felt in the vision. Though from the vague images she received the woman appeared older by some years from the point of the vision.
As she came in with Kira the woman's hand was on her shoulder as the two spoke briefly about what it's like living out here, sharing a laugh. Moving into the room together Kira steps off to the side and finds a chair by the window, looking to a potted plant with beautiful flowers on the small table there.
"We've been getting a lot of visitors lately.. most are interested in stopping off here before the dangers of the swamp though," she says, that touch of worry to her tone. "Three young women like yourselves is a bit different from the rest though," she smiles pleasantly between them, walking to one of the cupboards on a wall near Sholua.

"This is the place we wished to see. Not the swamp."
Her eyes followed the old woman around the room.

"It's nice to have a change.." she smiles to Sholua, reading her for a moment which causes the smile to only broaden. With focus she turns to the cabinet, pulling out slowly what she needs to set the tea up to be made. Boiling the water, placing in the leaves, she takes time and care with the practice of it.
When she finishes setting it up she turns to Sholua, "May I.. may I show you something?"

Perhaps the Force is doing this . . .
"By all means . . ."
She kept her expression pleasant and stomped on her usual survival instincts that everything would be bad.

"We'll be right back," she says to Cartess and Kira as they pass, giving them each a smile. Leading Sholua out back by the door, but passing it into a small living room space and then through an archway construction between two bookshelves. "My husband was quite the carpenter," she mentioned, looking back with a brief smile and leading her through into a small study area.
In here there were a couple armchairs, one of which Sholua was directed toward, "Please, sit," she says as she turns to one of the bookshelves. Digging through a few she finds an old lockbox, that smile touching on once more. Turning around to Sholua she looks to her a moment longer and sighs pleasantly.
"You're so young.. too young to be so nervous about the world," she says with a sorrowful smile, holding the box gently in her hands.
