Showtime [Day 6, EN, Event]

Event Type: Heist Style Event
Participants: Five
Timeslot: Early Night

For weeks now Mara and her people have been spreading information out to the people of Bellionas about the conditions other Bellionassian's face. However, tonight marks the next step toward their ultimate goal. Assembling together a team adept at infiltration they set their sights on the question that has burning in the minds of many. What secrets there might be behind some of the rare reports of disappearances after visiting the clinic and just what the Empire's goal is here.

Together the team will need to get inside, slip past security, and get themselves into locations which are likely to contain the secure data they seek.

Event:

Players must roll 3 Average Rolls, 4 Hard Rolls, and 3 Daunting Rolls, succeeding 7 of them in order to achieve event success.

Almost any skill may be rolled in this event excluding:
  • Astrogation
  • Piloting (Planetary/Space)
  • Gunnery
  • Ranged: (Heavy)
  • Knowledge: Any with the exception of Education
Rolls should be made with narrative that helps build a group effort journey inside the clinic. Average rolls should generally be getting inside, Hard rolls getting through security, and the Daunting rolls should be the finishing touches, getting the documents and getting out.

Once the team achieves 7 success' I'll post the information here.

Players may not roll two subsequent rolls, this is to help reinforce that baton-pass vibe to the heisty vibe.

Manny was totally down with a heist. Hopefully one that wouldn't end with murder.

"Hey guys! What's up? I'm Manny." He greeted the others with a cheerful whisper. "You ready to do some good crime?"

Nelk had been following Mara’s reports and couldn’t shake the tasty secrets she knew where hidden down at the clinic. She had to find out what the Empire was up to. Maybe she could use what she’d learn here to help the rebellion, maybe she’d use it for her own purposes. She wondered if there’d be any underworld connection.

Nelk let the others know she was ready and willing to join the team in their espionage.

Great, some Imperial doctor is dealing with a mystery liquid. It would be beneficial for the movement for a non-organic being to infiltrate this "good doctor's" lab. So who else is going, Manny, Zimrzala, and a Zygerrian?

The operation made sense. Her inclusion made sense. But... Dr. Ven was not comfortable taking this step into notoriety. But she was here anyways.

SCaT starts off by finding an unruly group of patients and riling them up a bit. This of course led to a spot if trouble for the droid, but nothing that he couldn't handle. With the commotion going on, the others should have a much easier time figuring out what to do next.

With everyone so distracted, it was fairly easy for Manny to slip by, leading the way towards the facility. After all, he was used to slipping past alert people!

However, he didn't give a warning to the rest of the team; he just sorta vanished. Following him would require moving extra fast.

In the vacuum of Manny's disappearance and the chaos of the droid's distraction, Aanli threw on a lab coat and blended in with some of the folks coming to work.

"Stop rubbernecking and get inside before it becomes our problem," she chastised some coat as she strode in on their credentials.

While everyone was busy talking to the doctor twilek, SCaT took the age old adage, no one ever checks the air ducts. Of course he didn't expect for them to be this loud, but they throw their sound everywhere so SCaT succeeds for now. The employees are on the lookout however.

Zim manages to get inside with the others - as well as a number of the civilians waiting outside, probably. She keeps her eyes open for where the others are, and notices as the Droid disappears to a side aisle. Not long after that, she starts to hear the sounds coming from the air duct... but managed to keep a straight face.

She walks to those managing the queue for admitting patients to be seen by the doctor, and strikes a conversation with them - she starts by asking when they will be finally able to see the doc, then asks how things have been going, if they have noticed any diseases spreading... then, looking at those around, she asks whether the clerk thinks things as they are now are enough to keep those in the lower city healthy, and whether they think there is something that might be changed to help...

It's not a very interesting conversation at all, that's for sure... but with some help from her ability to feel the connections linking people and their emotions and her previous training with the H'kig teacher, she manages to keep the clerk's attention for long enough for the others to have an easier time getting to the positions they need to be in.

Now that they were inside, it was just a matter of getting through security. And so while Zim distracted them...

Manny was soaring up! It only took a few moments when no one was looking to shift a ceiling panel near a wall. And then, firing his ascension gun straight up, Manny vanished into the ceiling, replacing the panel a moment later.

"Anyone want me to turn something off while I'm up here? Or... on, maybe?" Manny spoke quietly into the comms.

Aanli moved with purpose down the hall, swiped datapad in hand, intuiting the lay of the land by her many, many times in similar facilities across the galaxy. And one universal constant; unless you have a specific reason, you don't fuck with someone in a labcoat moving with purpose glaring stressfully at a datapad. Not even one tapping out directions to a sneaky team of infiltrators.

And if I were laying out this clinic, I'd put the data center right about... there.

Nelk followed the good doctor's directions to the data center, and upon entering she came face to face with a guard. "I'm taking post, go have a smoke break. Now." She nearly barked the orders out. The guard, befuddled, nodded and took his leave, however he seemed a bit suspicious as he left, turning to look at Nelk as he left. She sighed, then signaled for the team it was clear. Then she looked up, and noticed the air vent was directly above a table, a perfect spot for SCaT to descend. (triumph UPGRADE for next)

In fact, it was Manny who descended into the room! And while what they needed was in a secured room, once you were actually in the room, it was with a simple mechanical lock that the cabinet was secured.

With a flourish, he pulled out his lockpicks, and shortly it was opened.

"Wooooo!" Manny whispered into the comms. "Got it, let's get outta here!"

Scat tries to unlock the emergency panel from the inside of the air chamber. Sadly he didn't have time as the ceiling collapsed under him. Thus, he's with the group, and the staff ignore whatever noises they heard in this room as they fear for a possible collapse.
