A helping hand (D4, EE, Open)

Zim had come down to try and convince some of the lower city dwellers to tune in to the broadcasts from Mara's group - but she knew while words could sway people's hearts, no-one could hold hope for long if they couldn't stand. So she stayed here longer - her glowstick in her pocket as she knew it might get dark depending on how long she'd need.

She looked around while she walked, looking for Nanna to talk to her again, but also for any other obvious thing she might help with. She kept Nanna's words the other day in her mind - medical supplies or better shelter. How could she help with those?...

While Zim considers what she might be able to do she notices something up ahead. A couple of men, hooded and concealing their features argue amongst themselves with a familial tone shared between them. One shoves the other, calling him something she can't quite make out but they seem to be walking toward a building nearer the outskirts of the residential area.

Noticing them, she looks around to see if she sees anything that might be related to their argument, then, keeping her own hood up, she casually walks in the same direction they're going to. If she picks up her pace slightly, can she maybe make out at least something of what it is they're arguing about?

Finished with his meeting, Jaxom left emerged from a side street and spotted three hooded people. Flipping a mental coin, he decided to walk in the same direction they were.

One of the hooded figures, standing some distance behind the other two, doesn't seem to notice the man heading in the same general direction - for now at least.

She can't quite make out what they were saying - getting too close would probably mean attracting their attention, after all. But...

OOC:
Day 4 EE - Perception Vs Avg, 3 setback. Mikkian Boost, Intense Focus, Destiny Flip: 2eP+1eB+2eD+2eS 2 failures, 2 advantage

.. but, from what she can gather their argument seems more friendly in tone. Alike to the means of two friends who are teasing one another back and forth. As they walk forward one enters the building ahead while the other takes up position outside on a box.

Jaxom kept walking, trying not to draw attention to himself.

The relieved sigh she let out was silent enough it 'probably' didn't attract attention... She keeps walking casually ahead, eventually going through the entrance to the building and where the other one positioned themselves. Takes a quick look at the front of the building. An uninterested look - just a passerby wondering what that place was. And then... an equally uninterested look ahead.

Where was the nearest corner, or other place where she could casually wait to take some more uninterested looks at what might transpire there?

For the most part, buildings in this area that were inhabited were covered up pretty well to try and keep the grime out from above. Unfortunately, this situation caused it to be difficult to keep an eye on where the one whom went inside went or was up to. However, she was able to gather that this location was one where a family was likely currently making home.

While the person sitting outside didn't seem to pay Zim any special mind yet he was keeping a watchful eye.

Jaxom was drawing closer, continuing to follow the Zim.

Right... a family, then. That was better than many alternatives, at least.

She tried to keep out of the way and out of the line of sight, for now. Turning into a corner, she kept looking around it from time to time. Did the man talk to someone else? Or... did anything happen?

Far as she could see the man waiting outside was just keeping watch for the time.

For now, so did she, from time to time. Unless it looked like she could help elsewhere?

After a while, she walks through again, this time going through the side of the street the man was keeping watch from. Did he say anything? Did anything else happen?

After he had seen the last cloaked figure turn a corner, Jaxom had stopped. Leaning against a wall, he began to play with a datapad.

Approaching somewhat close to the building the cloaked figure offered a simple and passive wave, one that two passing strangers would often share.

She returns the wave in kind, but slows down a bit when passing. Some casual conversation might help understand what's happening, maybe... And whether it's something to actually worry about?

"Good evening! Been a quiet evening, eh?"

For a moment the cloaked figure seemed uncertain when she spoke, not prepared for it. However, his voice came through, "Yea," it was rough, disciplined, "Not a lot goes on down here. Unless the gonks start actin' up that is."

She nods. "Yea... I've heard quite a bit about it. Has it been happening often in this area?"

And ... does anything else happen while they talk?
