Jaxom slipped the lockbox into a different case, along with the maintenance uniforms.

"Let's go."

Giving a nod, Mara took the appropriate outfit and took off around one of the corners. Undressing and redressing, it took her and Jaxom a few minutes to get the proper fit in and cinch up what they could. Notably, Mylar helped Jaxom if he had any need getting the uniform to fit properly. Once they were done the group of two scientists, dressed in the black-bar outfits, Mara and Jaxom, were ready to be escorted by the officer, Tenzing, and along with a maintenance guy, Mylar.

Something of an odd group but.. it had a potential story to it, with a nod shared between the group they were ready to go. Exiting the room they move back toward the halls they noticed prior. Mylar busy with double-checking the map a moment he was certain the lab they needed was down by the end of a long hall. As they walk some of the troopers on guard duty pass them a look.

The group was definitely on edge. Tenzing watched for their destination while Jaxom watched their surroundings. Soleene had warned them to look like they belonged and to look like they weren't worth bothering with. She'd also told them to be ready if someone took an interest in them.

As they walk past, Jaxom notices the way they're being looked at. Despite the armor, despite the unfeeling mask, the way one cocks their head and the other makes a single step before stopping. Jaxom's felt that way before, he's given looks like that before. That trepidation of seeing something off but being uncertain if they should question a possible superior. It was written in the small gestures but their outfits were drawing far more attention to them than they expected.

Perhaps.. perhaps because the one's who normally wear these uniforms would normally be instantly recognizable.

It was too late now though, they were comitted.

But.. knowing this, they could prepare to tell a good lie.

Just make sure it's good.

Jaxom straightened and continued forward as he considered what they might say. For now, it seemed best to ignore the troopers. After all, they were beneath them.

Walking through the halls the group eventually finds their way toward the room they suspect is the one they need. With the blast door opened they can see.. pods, and other medical equipment inside. Mara looks to Mylar and then the other before her expression grows neutral and serious again. A nod toward an officer approaching them, a woman in the black officer attire flanked by two Stormtroopers.

"Excuse me," she says, and approaches the group looking between those here. "I don't believe we were expecting visitors?" she asks, the Imperial accent crisp in her voice.

When confronted with this moment, Jaxom realized he didn't know enough for a convincing lie. For now, he just hoped to buy a little time.

"Surprises? We don't get surprise visits from scientists normally.." she glances between those present, narrowing her eyes on Tenzing as he was the officer present. Though seeing Mylar she got even a lot more suspicious before raising her hand up to her commlink to indicate she was going to make a call. "Stay right here, this seems.. irregular," and steps back before giving a glance to one of the troopers at her side who both in unison set their blaster to stun.

While she calls in to check into this story, there's the brief hesitation in everyone where Tenzing notices if everyone got inside he could probably blast the door controls and lock them in the lab. Then they'd just need to figure another way out or.. fight through everyone here. That could get messy, but with the way things were going? This was turning south fast.

If they make the move, they can all make use of the hesitation to get on the other side of the door before things go south.

Without hesitation, Jaxom ushered everyone into the lab. This all meant nothing if they left empty-handed.

[Tenzing]

Stepping into the lab with everyone Tens used the momentary pause to quick draw his blaster and use the old Star Wars Door Maneuver they'd all learned in basic training on Kamino. The controls sparked.

"Boring conversation anyway! Now let's get what we came for and get the kriff outta here."

[Meiyokashi]

As the group rushes into the room the troopers raise their blasters, the officer shouts, and with a blast they're all locked out of the room. Inside it's pristine, white, and.. almost a little disconcerting. "Kriff, looks like we're running against the clock now huh?" Mylar says, quickly rushing toward a nearby terminal and working at it.

Meanwhile, Mara takes a step back from the door. Unprepared for that she seems momentarily shaken but focus', looking to Jaxom and Tenzing. "Alright- so we'll have to find a way out of here when we're done while Mylar-" she glances, he shouts- "Already on it!"

[Tenzing]

"Yeah, so more haste less speed." Tens cast his eyes over the lab, trying to focus on things that could help, rather than what the Imps had been doing here.

He hoped the others had found whatever it was that Novar had been keeping in her office. For the moment though he was more concerned with finding Mara's brother and an escape route.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Sorry, but it was this or run." Jaxom said. He reached into the case he was carrying and pulled out the lockbox. "I doubt this is what you meant dad, but we're going to need anything that might help."

He hoped for something useful as he opened the box.

[Meiyokashi]

Inside he found a handwritten letter, one addressed to Jaxom. A passkey, one he recognized as being to the family accounts, and a datavault of some uncertain purpose. Each were accented with a light scent that must have been specially prepared as to not damage anything inside the package.

Nothing, likely, that would help them out of this current situation. However.. the scent did remind him of his childhood home. Something that could change the tide in any situation, that little glimpse of a better time, that things.. could maybe be alright again.

[Mylar]

Meanwhile Mylar is busy at the console and the group can hear him pick up a hand to cover the comm-receiver in his ear, cupping over it to reduce the intake of sound from the rest of the room and hear the other side clearly. Speaking back to them he asks, "Anything else we need to know?"

Jaxom quickly secured the items, only considering his father's reasoning for preparing them for a moment. He couldn't worry over the implications now.

Instead, he began searching the lab for anything related to their objective and for a way out.

Meanwhile, Mylar continues on the comm, "Thanks- stay safe, alright? We'll talk more when we get a plan out of here," and then clicks off the receiver for the moment. Looking over his shoulder his eyes search for Mara and find her fidgeting slightly while they wait. Turning his attention back to the screen he continues working at the terminal for a moment.

[Mara Kayde]

Mara's looking around the room but her eyes aren't focused on anything. Pretty soon she's about to wake her brother up into a mess and have to somehow get him out of here. Not only that- but they were currently trapped in a room with the guards surely starting to bear down on their location.

She would be pacing if she was a pacer, but the look in her eyes was as tell-tale as any. Could be she needed a little reassurance.. a little inspiration.
