Indeed, as the two left the swamp proper to the area surrounding the wrecked ship the ground beneath was slowly turning from mud to gravel
"It's classical, but unafraid of taking risks. Oh, and if you do step on a ladmine the done thing is to jump 30 feet in the air and disperse over a wide area. But that won't happen so long as you avoid the orange patches."

Nara deftly steers Manny this way and that around the hundreds of orange patches as they approach the ship.

"Yeah, totally." Manny nodded agreement. There was a short pause. "Wait, what?"

He hopped around one of the orange patches. "Wow, it is really coming along, huh? Did you do all this yourself? Or do you have, like, swamp workers to come lay mines for you?"

"I'm just joshing yah, there's no hard and fast rule for what happens when you step on a landmine. That's just between you, the landmine and any deities you might believe in. I usually say 'Parkour!' and then try to dive off, it's surprisingly effective."

She waves a hand at the question before pointing to the roof of the ship which now appeared to sport several camouflaged pools
"I hired some kids. I dunno why people always poopoo child labour, it cost almost nothing and they were real eager to work. Reminded me of myself when I was little. I like to think I taught some life skills along the way too."

"I'll try that." Manny said, nodding.

Squinting, Manny looked up at the roof. "Whoa, that's so cool! I would have loved that when I was a kid. One time I pretended I was building an awesome fort, but it was just at the junk yard, and an engine fell on me. It took the other kids eight hours to get me out."

"Oh I'm so jealous! Playing fort is the best, especially when you get to blow it up afterwards...totally gotta wire this place to self-destruct...I mean the engine falling sucks but you got out eventually."

Nara marches up to the front door and there's some whirring as hidden turrets track their approach
"You're safe as houses in here though, we only had one engine fall and nobody even got trapped. We very nearly had a fatality, but no trapping whatsoever!"

"That's not bad." Manny nodded. He heard the whirring, but it didn't worry him; Nara was a bro!

"So, do you live here now?" Manny asked. "Or... can it fly now? I guess you'd have to leave the mines behind."

"I think legally I'm squatting here. But that's a killer on the hamstrings so yeah, I guess I live here. As for the flying....well, we'll have to see. Ideally there'd be some sort of low energy chase scene happening so observers could remark 'it flies now?!?!'."

The door slides open and Nara starts the ceremonial wiping of the boots on the various welcome mats covering the entry tunnel into the ship. The previous collection of bulbs appeared to have be put into fixtures in the roof which had freed the walls for an eclectic collection of art pieces.

"Yeah! That would be awesome!" Manny said, waving his hands excitedly. "Let me know if you need any help rebuilding it. I totally hooked up this new sound system for my ship, and I only got shocked three times. Well... three big times, otherwise it was fifty-four times."

He looked around. "Also, let me know if you need any art. I've got a bunch of posters of this hot magician chick. My roommates keep taking them down."

“My trick was gonna be making things disappear by blowing them up. I think it would have killed.”

Following the entranceway along they enter into the main hold which is now full to bursting with furniture and decorations. In one corner is a full size pool table and directly above it on the roof, a second table.

“In case the ship ever tips over” Nara explains.

“I would totally take your help on getting the engines rewired though. Be really cool for you to take the shocks for me.”

"Totally killed!" Manny agreed without a hint of recognizing a double meaning. "But no, they're cool. And hot!"

Manny looked around. "Wow, this place is amazing! Where'd you find all this stuff."

Pointing to a novelty empire flag draped on the ground below several different rebellion flags that can’t seem to agree on a colour scheme

"I do want a beer." Manny sighed. "Especially if you stole that from the Empire. They locked down my ship this morning and made me pay a fine. So anything that sticks it to them, it's great!"

He looked thoughtful (sorta) for a moment. "So yeah, let's steal more of their stuff!"

Nara tosses over a huge beer can with some sort of moth alien wearing an officer’s uniform plastered on the front.

“I can’t believe they’d do that! That’s so lame! What we do is heroic, what they’re doing, taxation, that’s theft! I’m totally down with stealing more. Maybe like, a really big statue.”

Manny caught the beer, flipping it in his hands casually. Opening it took him a little longer. "Oh dip..." He muttered as it sprayed a bit. "Uh... where's the best place to sit here, anyway?"

He sipped awkwardly at the liquid that had gathered in the rim. "But yeah, I'd totally be down for stealing a statue or something." He frowned. "Uh, did you want to put it here?"

"Try the couch with the crushed velvet. Great texture, great colour, took ages to get the blood stains out."
Nara motions towards a maroon couch with some extra maroon on it.
"Either here or if it's a team effort, halfway between our two homes, that seems right, right?"

Manny flopped on the couch, spilling more beer. "But my home moves..." He said.

He shrugged. "Well, we'll figure something out. Man, this place is great. You have any spare rooms?"

Nara ponders this for a few moment. Maybe a really big unicycle...

“Spare rooms? Like, of course. You got the kitchen suite which used to be the kitchen. The mess hall suite which used to be the mess hall. And the bathroom suite which used to be the cockpit. I think it’s important to theme to keep folks interested.”

Manny shook his head. "No, I mean, like, rooms for people. Where they can sleep. Where there's a bed, I mean. I mean, I've slept in kitchens lots of time, but that's different."

He shrugged. "I mean, I just like it when my bros can live in the same place as me if they want."

"But that's what I mean! Every room in this ship has a bed, most of two and one room has a secret third where you get a prize for finding it. Like, what happens if you get tired eh? You don't want to have to walk all the way to a lame bedroom on the other side of the ship. You wanna fall asleep somewhere convenient."

Manny considered that for a few moments.

"That's... awesome!" He said, nodding enthusiastically. "I think you've got the perfect budhole!"

He looked around. "So... anything else I should see? Do you have a room just for, uh, chocolate pudding or anything? Or..." He looked at her, "probably one for gun stuff, huh?"
