D11 EA - And Crimson Blades Aglow

[Solork Tan]

It's been a rough night, not so much with physical damage as much as the weight of everything. It's back at the Hangout that Solork notices one of those who had joined him.

"So.. I am guessing you saw the wire"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis had taken a beating but a good night's rest and some drugs had him feeling close to normal again. When the gank approached him Deonis looked up "Im sure everyone has."

[Solork Tan]

"For me, the interesting part is who they didn't show. If they got a clear image of J-Richo, they almost assuredly got some of us. And... perhaps you know about them. I've seen hilts like yours before. I can show you what I mean" Sol picks up his walking stick and turns it, sliding back a panel to reveal a section very close to Deonis' saber"

[Deonis Harik]

"The Empire likes to hunt us differently. They don't want to risk troopers killing us trying to arrest us. Always a chance to turn people like us. Usually want us alive." He said nodding as he looked to Solork's hilt.

[Solork Tan]

"Is that what happened to you?" Sol drops his voice. "You didn't want to tell me about your teachers."

He looks around. "It's hard...being alone with this. Even with comrades I trust, it just isn't something they can feel. I felt something different from you before. Now" he pauses "I don't know how different I am"

[Deonis Harik]

He nodded "I was almost an inquisitor. Trained by them. Trained to be one of them. I escaped before I finished that training." He explained looking at Solork.

"It is not an easy road. Especially without support." He paused a little "I cannot teach you directly. I am already pledged to another. I also believe we walk different path from here. You have a new family to join. So do I in a way." He said.

He gave him a slip of paper with a comm frequency on it "please feel free to hail my comms. I am happy to help in anyway I can."

[Solork Tan]

"It's ok. I had a teacher. That human who dropped in was mine." Sol takes the paper. "Apparently I'm not cut out to be a Jedi. I think I'm having more luck as a Mandolorian."

"It's just...I always thought it would be easy, escaping the past. Just deciding to do good." The Gank shakes his head. " It's not that easy. Especially when your mentor drops you like a hot pile of poodoo out of the blue"

[Deonis Harik]

"Your teacher was Jedi yes? They often fear what they do not understand. They claim their way is the only safe way. They are strict and will not help those they think are dangerous." He looked around the place thinking on last night "we could use a bit of dangerous."

[Solork Tan]

Sol nods. "There's truth to much of what you say. I spent a great deal of time telling myself that I wasn't dangerous. That I would only step in when necessary. And I thought that the idea that the answer to the idea that I might be dangerous would be to send me away to be insane. Buuuut... "

Sol looks down at the pole in his hand, thinking of where he got the crystal and its cost. "I realized something. I might have a lethal end low on my list of options. I might maneuver to another way, bide my time, come at the problem with a new direction, maybe even retreat to gather reinforcements. And sometimes, there is no solution and you need to have the wisdom to not be caught in the problem. But at the end of the day, if there is a danger in front of you, one you know can come and find you or others...if the choice is to walk away and do nothing, or put them down, I put them down hard." The Gank clenches his fist. "And I don't think that's ever going to change"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis nodded "those emotions are strong. They will lead you to what people call the darkside. The power there is easy. It is also addictive. But with discipline it can be used."

[Solork Tan]

Solork is quiet. "It's everything that I was warned against. And I know full well how easy it would be to slip into being a monster"

But he didn't say no

[Deonis Harik]

"Like with any kind of power it can corrupt. You can become lost to your emotions. You have to balance it. Or you will become a slave to your emotions. Not trying to preach. Just sharing what I have learned. What I have seen happen to others."

[Solork Tan]

"It seems very possible. When you are so sure that you are right, and wondering why everyone else just can't see it" Solork inclines his head. "More discipline is needed. Fortunately, I have a few new brothers in arms who already have shown that they can point out when I am in error without it requiring a sermon." The Gank offers a raspy laugh.

"I am curious: who are you pledged to now? I am curious to what you were referring to"

[Deonis Harik]

"That is good. Solitude makes it worse." He grimaced a little but regarded Solork when he asked his second question "There is another. Newly discovered in her abilities. Requires guidance. I am not a teacher. But I have studied the force for a decade. I can help in some ways. But I am still learning myself."

[Solork Tan]

"Ahh. A short, scrawny human perhaps? She clearly knew what a lightsaber hilt was. I believe I met all of the Force sensitives involved with the Resistance." Sol sits and thinks. "I think that it will work out for the best that I continue on my path with self discovery. The way that my training has effected me...it's in ways that I don't think that I have heard about in any texts of lessons that were passed to me. It all seems to be a theme: like before, I have been able to bolster myself to make myself stronger. But now..." Sol begins to concentrate, channeling the Force into his armor.

"You know your own lightsaber, yes? Would you care to try it one me now? A glancing blow, if you please"

[Reinforce Item used on armor, mostly for show]

"I do not find a lightsaber to be a toy or the Force a party trick." he responded simply, there was no chiding in his tone nor reproach he was simply stating an opinion he had "I have heard of those able to use the force to protect themselves. A unique and powerful ability. If you have taught yourself this much then self teaching is a good path for you Solork." he said with a small smile "I wished to do the same with physical objects but even the highest profile store could not help me. Seems I will have to continue avoiding lightsabers since I cannot stop them."

[Solork Tan]

Sol lets it release. "It's...hard to take pride in something that you don't quite know how it works. I had practiced pushing the Force into objects for so long in an attempt to-"

He catches himself.

"On another project. I haven't fully tested it, and I would prefer to know for sure before I fully rely on it in battle. But either way, it is good to know that someone else is grappling with the Darkness, if in a different way than myself. It can be hard when everyone else seems to find purity and Harmony to be an easy task"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis raised an eyebrow at Sol's secret keeping but does not push the issue "I do not grapple with the darkness. It comes naturally. I grapple with the light. You seem an alright sort. I think you'll be fine as long as you keep doing what you think is right. Trust the people you put around you to keep you in check. And meditate. Center yourself. Know yourself."

[Solork Tan]

Solork nods seriously "Discipline and meditation are things that I have managed to learn. Rather, my issue tends to be that my experience and instinct tell me to go about things with a clear head and focus...and they seem to be the wrong things. I consider myself lucky that I have found a brother in J-Richo that I trust to be a voice of reason, while still having gone through travails that mean that he is not dewey eyed or overly idealistic."

Sol pauses. "What is it that keeps you from going over the line?"
