Backup Plans [Day 9, EA]

Standing near the couches set up for the meeting place within the hangout Sera waits for some of the heavies they have on call to answer. With the datavault in hand she plays with it restlessly while she waits, glancing toward the entry every half a minute. Much as she'd supported Mara through working up for speeches and getting on the radio actually talking to a group of people was more nerve-wracking than she was quite prepared for. Still, she'd see it through.. if they were right it was probably the most important thing they've ever done.

Well of course Deonis would be there, he had been around for a long time and this was the first time the mention of really using his skill set was coming up. He walked in fully armored looking like he always did.

He gave Sera a nod and found something sturdy to lean against "Thinking things might finally get loud?" He asked with a neutral tone.

Heavy wasn't exactly completely accurate, but if you wanted 'deal as much damage as possible, as quickly as you can' then Sholua was your heavy . . .

Anyway, she sauntered in and nodded to One Liner in greeting.

Heavy was truly a good term used to qualify J-Richo so he just had to be here. He arrived just in time to hear Deonis comment

''It was inevitable in the end, friend. The Empire will always use violence if they lose event a shred of control.''

"We've been doing a good job at keeping things mostly quiet. The more we do to keep it that way before things go sideways, the better"

Sol shufflles a bit. " I suppose a question is: how loud are we willing to go? "

She would receive a long look and a nod in return. He knew she talked about being able to fight but seeing her here was a surprise.

"At the end of the day words won't make the imperials leave." He said seriously looking to Sol.

"No, they won't. But let's ask the question: if we killed every Imp on the planet, every soldier, every officer, Kriff it every sympathizer, would the Empire pack up their tent, say "well that place isn't worth it" and move on?"

It was a loaded question.

"If we go in hard and loud, let's have a clear idea of our objective, know that it's worth the cost, and be ready to scatter when it's done"

Richo greeted Solork's arrival with a proper ''Su cuy'gar'' and a nod before listening to the other interventions

''We will need to be able to either hide or most probably leave the planet afterwards. I doubt they will let us use ferries.''

Sholua raised an eyebrow to Deonis. All this talk of loud when she thought a rescue mission was on the cards. Perhaps they'd been called in for a diversion?

Having supported the Resistance this far, and Raven was a woman of her word, so of course she'd show up. Besides, nothing like running her team through the gauntlet of an action-packed adventure lasting over a day.

Reminds me of the time at Kamda... she thought idly as she stepped inside the room, pushing back the hood on her cloak that shielded her armor and helmet from the drizzle of rain that was plagueing the planet currently.

Spotting at least Sholua and Deonis, she offered a wave to them. She suspected Sho was there for much the same reason she was, after what Dhel had told them last night.

Sera gave a nod to everyone as they entered, crossing her arms as the conversation shifted. "Mara wouldn't like this.." she chuckles nervously a moment.

"With what's been brought to me we have a chance to save Petra, to get out girl back. Mara wants to keep things quiet but this is different, this is a rescue and I need a team willing to go against the Empire to give me a chance at getting Petra back."

"Based on this," she waves the datavault, a thin stick model, "Dr. Novar will be traveling off-world tomorrow on a transport and under guard. When she moves we think Petra will be with her and that makes this a rare opportunity to get her back before she's.." she hesitates, shaking her head as she doesn't need to put it to words. Doesn't want to.

"Primary goal is to see if it is Petra who will be on that dock tomorrow and if it is, go loud and try to get her back. If.. if we have a chance though," she looks between those in the room, tightening her crossed arms over her chest.

"Killing Dr. Novar is also on the table..."

Deonis listened and nodded "Simple op. Observe, rescue Petra and eliminate Novar. Should be easy enough." He said in a neutral tone. He hadn't been close to Petra but had been around her. Good kid.

"Easier said than done," Raven remarked to Deonis, then her visor turned to Sera. "Do we have any information on Petra's condition? Will she be walking or... be transported?" Difficult prisoners could be subjected to anything from carbon-freezing to being drugged out of their minds. And Petra struck her as a difficult one.

"And what of the doctor's escort? We talking your average trash stormtrooper, or is the Empire bringing in their big guns to make sure she'll be safe?"

Already the young commander was beginning to think.

"Do we have their route?"

She had a datapad out, already looking for maps.

Solork eyes Deonis with increasing worry. "There's a difference between it being on the table and Novar being a primary target. I certainly won't lose sleep over her passing, but if I read it right, that's a secondary objective at best. With the heat this is bringing, preventing death and leaving a fall guy might even help."

"What they said. Usually the weakest part of any transfer is in transit and the two places where positioning are most reliable are shortly after the start an end points. That Intel is invaluable"

Raven's visor turned to look at Sol for a long time, as if she was trying to make sense of the voice connected to that... helmet.

"If the doctor can be a target relies more on the condition of the prisoner. Less help she needs, the more likely it is that we can get this Novar as well." Crossing her arms across her chest, she focused once more to Sera. "... Taking out Novar is certainly possible. Taking her alive though... that could be tricky, but potentially strong payout."

''Is there more information?'' Richo said cutting the superfluous verbiage ''We need more information before planning anything''

Walking around the main couch as everyone speaks she gets around to the back, leaning down onto it as she looks to everyone, "This is all we have," she says, taking a breath and then delving into it.

"We know that Dr. Novar is traveling off-world tomorrow and that the crew manifest for her transport out of here makes room for one other occupant. We were given this information by a credible source, one that did so believing that Petra is going to be the person in that extra seat. We also know that many have seen Dr. Novar around town with her bodyguard, Commander Talcik is her name. For those of you that were on Kamda," she glances between the faces and not-faces her, "she was a major component of the security force there and on the Star Destroyer when it went down. From what I hear she's the real deal when it comes to special operations and her team is extremely well trained, and likely will all be present for the transfer. Though.. their team has a new replacement as they suffered a loss on Kamda, in the spaceport I hear. Gunned down by the Mandalorians who aided there," she gives a glance toward Raven, as she knew from Julo it was the enclave involved there.

"We also know when she'll be leaving and by which pad the transport will leave from. Unfortunately.. any details on the route are completely lost to us, which means our one shot is at the spaceport and- luckily by confining it to the Imperial section of the port it will be in means we will have little opportunity for innocents getting in the way. Just means that we're delving into the deepest parts of enemy territory for this.. and if we strike, it'll have to be swift."

Focusing back to Raven for something she said, "Getting Novar out alive isn't an option I'm considering. Much as I'm sure I'd love to beat some secrets out of her myself," she sighs, shaking her head as she contains herself again. For Mara's sake. With an exhale she resumes, "Dr. Novar has been a detriment to Bellionas, we've seen how she's hurt the people over time in the way her presence here marks the start of people being forced into the Lower City in droves rather than the original trickle it once was. Giving her some payback from the lives that were lost because of this and whatever else she's been doing on our planet will go a long way to settling a score but.. just don't tell Mara, hmm? This is a personal request. We get a chance, take it- but our priority is Petra. I want out girl home safe and sound where she belongs."

''As she should, we leave no one behind'' he stated with a nod ''So, who will be on the strike team? All of us here?''

"Talcik. Ouch, yeah. That one." Raven nodded. She hadn't faced the woman, but she had heard of her reputation. If she wasn't an Imperial, she almost could respect her as a true warrior. She was feeling a touch singled out with Sera looking to her specifically regarding Kamda.

"Occupant at least makes it sound promising that Petra won't be completely out of commission from the start. Makes a rescue easier... but, fair enough. Just wanted to know your preferences, and now we do," she inclined her head to Sera, not minding at all her call on the doctor. "Striking at a location like that, it will require stealth and swiftness to get in position. As well as being able to get out quickly, before the place is flooded with stormtroopers. A prolonged confrontation increases the chances of those going in not making it out."

Raven did not like that she was already thinking gee it would be nice with a jetpack. "... Do you have schematics of the spaceport, Sera?"
