What's up doc? [D7, EA]

So... medical attention and better shelter were the two foremost things Nanna had mentioned - and from her experiences in the past few days it was sorely needed. The excursion to the Imperial Clinic suggested it was... not really about providing care. At least not only about that... so going to them to procure extra care for those in the Lower City didn't seem like a particularly good idea.

But then there was this 'doc' the folks she had met some time ago had mentioned. She wasn't sure exactly how she could help, but that was a good place to start...

That, and the Gonks. The people who others said behaved like savages, and who indeed seemed to cause trouble now and then. Was that reactive? Or... was there another reason for that?

She shook her head - she still had a hope of understanding their story. More importantly... helping them, maybe.

Another shake of her head. Reaching them, rather. They wanted their quiet, too. And there were reasons why they felt they couldn't have it. She felt their dreams and those of the other Bellionassians weren't so different, in the end....

But that was a matter for another time. For now, she made her way to the tent some in the Lower City had mentioned, which provided some medical attention to the lowlanders at least. She felt she might as well ask if she could do something to improve the situation - maybe procure supplies, or something like that.

"Good morning, folks", she said to the group of identical folks at the door. "I'd like to speak to a - or the - doctor around, please?"

"Think he's with a patient but-" he glances to the other, getting a nod. Both men were dressed in their cloaks but out here they didn't feel the need to cover their faces, both which are identical enough to the other save for some cosmetic changes. They remained, keeping watch at the entrance just in case there was more trouble like they'd had earlier in the day.

"Yea, feel free to head on in. Just mind you don't interrupt anything important, alright?"

She hears their conversation, wondering a bit about what it might be about and whether it could be some sort of trouble - there seemed to be a general increase in the amount of problems with imperials and others things, in the surface at least. But for now, she just nods at them with a kind smile. "Thanks", she says, and steps inside.

Once there, she takes a look at the tent, at who's inside, what's happening - and who the Doc the other lowlander had mentioned is.

Inside with the young boy she saw some days ago, looking happy and healthy as they chatted pleasantly was a young man whom she wouldn't recognize. However, he seems almost as relieved as the child to see him in good health and watched him with eyes that were still fresh to the experience. When Zim entered he didn't even seem to notice she had at first.

She was happy herself to see the young boy standing there happy and apparently healthy. She took some slow steps ahead so as to not interrupt their moment of happiness, but after some time she does get a bit closer.

"Good afternoon!", she says in a kind voice. "Happy to see the young lad here well", she says with a warm smile, then extends her hands. "I'm Zimrzala... been working with Nanna and some others to try to help get things a bit better in the Lower City. I... trust you're the good Doc some have mentioned", she asks, looking at the young man.

"Nanna?" he seems uncertain for a moment but then his eyes brighten slightly, "Oh!" he laughs a little, shaking his head. "Right. And yea- I-" but before he can start another one of the guards comes in, and almost like he's always listening for it chimes in, "He's the Doc, best thing for the Lower City this year I think.. well, aside from a newcomer who's been lending a helping hand."

As he spoke, he came in and sat on a nearby stool. Pulling back his hood, any familiarity with the clones would mark him as one for certain.

Zim probably isn't very familiar with clones, but she's heard of them, and probably seen them a few times in Bakura. One way or another, she doesn't let whatever her experience with them was colour her impression of the guards.

She smiles at the Doc and the guard in turn. "Pleased to meet you, Doc - and you too, mister. Good to see different people chipping in to help, especially when and where it's most needed, eh?", she says. "Community is important, and makes us stronger, yeah?", she adds with a nod to each of them.

She then turns her attention to the Doc again. "Nanna's mentioned there were some... difficulties in providing good medical attention with the current conditions here." She nods at the young boy, smiling kindly at him and the doc. "I clearly see you've been doing your best - and a very good job at that - despite these difficulties... but I'd like to ask, since I may have the time and means for this where others don't. Is there something specific that might be done to help make your work easier here?"

"A proper place to do it would be a hell of a start," the clone says, but gets a glance from the doctor.

"What my friend is conveying here is.. if we had a proper clean facility to work with it would be better. Patients sometimes come in with one type of sick and leave with another- I was a biologist before this, not a doctor, but.. I've read a couple books in the time and do what I can from experience. Just hoping-"

"You're doing fine. Republic trained us as medics- you haven't done anything I see that's made people worse."

"It's still a risk," the doc says, shifting backwards and looking back to Zim. "I doubt you have the ability to get us the clean facilities we'd need but.. perhaps if there is opportunity to get any better equipment for this place you will consider us?"

The Mikkian nods at both of the men, a kind smile directed at each of them. "Well, I definitely agree with our friend", she says, pointing to the clone "that if you're helping people, that's more important than your title".

She then looks at the tent, the equipment available, the supplies and so on. She doesn't understand much of such things, but even she can see that it's an impromptu setting.

She nods at the doctor again. "Well... I would certainly like to help however possible. A better place... I wonder, could we maybe find some suitable place in the Lower City? With some help from the locals - and mine, obviously - maybe we can get some place in good enough working order?"

Her eyes scan the place again, then go to a wall as her brows furrow in thinking. "As for equipment... aside from donating credits - which I'll be happy to do if it helps - do you have any ideas? I mean... maybe we could procure supplies and medical equipment somewhere..."

She looks at them both, waiting for any suggestions even though she just might have one of her own...

"There is one place.. but it would require a significant endeavor," the good doctor said.

Tux, chiming in, "Unfortunately, what the doc here means is that it's an even worse position than what we have here. This was the closet clinic we could find and moving the stuff out of here would not go well for us. However, the other location as the doc pointed out would have been an old hospital with maybe some supplies left but at least enough working equipment to get moving. As well as clean spaces for the patients. Unfortunately.. as the doc said, significant endeavor, it's real close to Gonk territory and we just don't have the means of protecting that space or protecting people on the long walk there."

The doc's words clearly arouse some hope in the Mikkian - and the Clone's explanation doesn't quite douse it. She listens to his words carefully, nodding here and there... but there's still a thin smile on her lips as he finishes.

"Hm... I see. So... if we could get the Gonks to respect - or just keep out of - that area, that would go a long way, I suppose? And... that would need help from a number of people to get it done too, I suppose. But maybe, if we can convince people of the benefits..."

She looks at them again. "Doc, friend... I don't suppose just offering a donation or offering to buy additional supplies would be nearly as effective as this endeavour, would it? I'm thinking... if it's significant enough, it just might be worth a try. If I can help make it happen..."

"I've no idea how you could but.." he shrugs, looking to Tux and then around the room at the supplies scattered around. "No, that would be the way to do it certainly Supplies help, we'll always need those but the facilities and clean spaces that's.. immeasurable," he says, a brief smile. Looking to Tux he had a question forming but the clone read him without him needing to say the words.

"If there's anything we can do to help, you just give us a call, alright?" he says, giving a brief smile.

She gives both of them a warm, silent smile, nodding and keeping thoughtful and quiet for a long while. When she speaks again, she nods at them again. "I'll be sure to call you, Doc, friend. I'm... not sure how exactly to make this happen, but as the Doc said... that's what needs done."

She takes a look outside. She wondered how and if she could talk to the Gonks after what happened this morning... but still, she had to try. That, and getting word out in the city to get others to help.

A new hospital for the people here just might become a possibility.
