Corellian Casino Blues [D7, MM]

Post by Tenzing » Thu May 27, 2021 3:47 am

The good thing about Casinos being open 24/7 was that you could always get a cheap breakfast. 'Course, at a place like the Corellian Run, you had to be rich to get in the damned door. Or be a Cop.

Tenzing was currently only one of those things, and it was probably temporary. Still, he made the best of his credit check and smiled at the greeter before strolling into the joint. It had quite the ambience.

First things first.

Tens didn't think he'd be lucky enough to find Grand walking the floor at this hour, but you never knew...

This place was decadence made material, from the high ceilinged room which served no purpose but to make room for greatly oversized chandeliers. That places like Lower City and here could exist on the same planet almost evoked the reflex to vomit. However, it's nothing he hasn't seen a thousand times before given his former service to Bellionas.

Still.. it hurt to see. Off to the left from the entrance was a grand and main bar of the establishment but it was closed this early in the morning. Management was likely in but then a few of the regulars also mingled about, at least the former might even remember him a little.

Most of those who frequent this place were in their rooms.. settling in for the "night."

For a moment he wondered if selling contents could actually bring the whole Lower City out of poverty... But then it would have to pried out of the owner's cold hands.

Instinctively he set off to chat with the regulars first. Management would be there when he was ready for them. He figured a few casual conversations might help to get the ball rolling.

It almost certainly would.. though it was a good thought to keep to heart and use to help bury the reaction that would bring down. As he stepped forward looking for one of the regulars he found one sitting at the bar speaking with another individual he's never seen before. While the regular passes over their greeting it's the other individual who steps forward, offering his hand, and taking charge of the exchange...

"Tybalt, of SFI," he says with a grin so smug it'd turn a stomach if there wasn't something charming about the way he manages it so effortlessly. Dressed in a more modern suit, one with elegant gold trim and vibrant colors that make him stand out among the common attire of those as wealth as he, going that extra mile and making it work.

"Meeting your acquaintance is my pleasure," and he offers his hand for a shake, one that promised to be firm.

He knew the type having mingled with them occasionally in the past. Tenzing engaged charm mode and took the offered hand in an equally firm grip.

"Star Fire Industries you say? Very pleased to meet you Tybalt. I'm Tens. It's a Grand place, this." He gestured around but kept his attention on Tybalt's face to see if the target's alter ego made any waves.

"Grand-" he smiles, quirking a brow before looking at the place around. Placing one hand into his pocket he nods, "It is, in a certain way isn't it? Though- I heard of one place that used to operate near Kamda," he raises his free hand pointing to Ten, "Now that- that was a Grand place," he chuckles. Something Tenzing knew, from going over the files, is that Grand once was essentially a king among his class. Running a pirate moon over Kamda wasn't an easy gig, but Grand managed to keep them from squabbling long enough and even had a blood-sport arena operating for a time.

Tens nodded. "Yeah, I wonder what happened to that place? I heard maybe the owner came this way." He shrugged nonchalantly. The guy seemed to know something of his target at least. "And how are things at SFI these days?"

Occasionally he had run into their security folks back in his old job. He'd never actually visited the place though.

"Better, now that my father is no longer CEO and we've rebranded," he smiles, giving a little wave of his hand. "Walk with me? We can talk more comfortably without having to worry about disturbing the locals," there was a distinct nature to the way he spoke that suggested the man he was talking to prior had completely left his mind, uncaring as he was about it.

Tenzing smiled politely. "Of course, lead on!"

He felt this was the kind of person who liked to provide their amazing thoughts to an audience. He'd met a few, usually in 'business' or politics. With luck he'd let something important slip...

They walked through the riches together, Tens dutifully listening with interest.

"So, let's see.." he says as they walked, looking around the casino as if he was appraising everything for the first time- and by the look in his eye, if it could be trusted, he was. "You're looking for Grand but- no, you're not with the Hutts but you are with someone who has an interest? Very interesting," he smiles at a thought. "I can help a little. All you have to do is tell me who you're looking for him for. Fair trade, no?"

Tenzing flashed a charming smile. "Clever, but I'd expect nothing less from the CEO of SFI." People like this always enjoyed having their massive egos stroked.

"You guessed right. I don't work for the Hutts, and I've no intention of bringing any harm his way. My client is local." He watched Tybalt's expression. There had been no mention of client confidentiality, and frankly Saph would probably be keen to know about this guy's interest.

"The owner of the Sapphire Lounge."

"Not a guess, more.. educated than that. Still," he smiles, giving an appreciative nod toward Tens. "I'm glad we can practice this bit- you give me what I want, and I give you something you want. Grand was here for.. a couple weeks but has since run out of whatever money he's had. Now, I imagine he's somewhere in the middle city trying to make due after running through what was left of his fund s- oh how the might fall," he sighs, a little too pleasantly.

"Saph though.. an interesting woman with an interesting past, or so my sources have told me. Maybe we'll have another chat soon, hmm? Busy man as you are I won't keep you," he says, and extends his hand once more.

Tenzing extended his hand to shake Tybalt's. "Thanks, that's very helpful. Yeah, I'm sure we'll speak again soon. Name's Tenzing."

With a nod he added: "Be seeing you then Tybalt. Enjoy the rest of your day." The case was calling so he didn't even stop for that cheap breakfast...

Tybalt shook his hand firmly once more smiling as he parted. With hands slipped into his pockets Tybalt watched as Tens left, all the way.
