Throughout the forum you may find me referencing Living Expenses, one such place being: here.
Living expenses are the input and output of credits that are necessary to maintain a living standard, and they are assumed rather than tracked. What this means is that every character is assumed to be making enough credits throughout their days in order to maintain the living standard that would be most common for them. A doctor who lives in a high-rise and often calls speeder-limo's to drive them around would be making enough to continue ordering from the top-shelf in every bar he goes to. Meanwhile, the person just barely scrapping by might need to hound down other folks at the bar itself to try and score a few drinks. These are not imposed living standards but one's chosen for a selected character as with what makes most sense for their background and social position at the moment.
At base, living expenses are generally assumed to be at a level where all characters can maintain their health without worry for running out of food or losing a place to sleep. Some events over the course of the game may change this for a time depending on actions taken.
Living expenses require no tracking and in fact they are designed specifically with the intent in mind to reduce the amount of credit spending that needs to be tracked. No worrying over how much it is to spend a night at the Rebyk Motel or to grab some food in the morning, just have your character sleep where they would normally sleep and eat what they would normally eat as what makes most sense with their current standing in the galaxy.
