He'd wanted to follow up as soon as he could, but there had been that excitement with Petra. And then the curfew. Really, a lot of stuff.
So instead Manny waited onboard his ship for his two friends. He tapped his foot semi-patiently, waiting for them to show up, standing at the foot of his ship's open ramp.

After the meeting with Tenzing, Raven had made sure to take a roundabout way to the spaceport, and Manny's hangar. It was a day of feeling extra paranoid.
But soon enough, Manny could see the familiar figure of Raven approaching the ship, with her identifiable helmet. She raised a glove hand in greeting, and stepped up the ramp. "Good to see you're whole, Manny."

Manny smiled, maybe not quite as exuberantly as his usual, but still with some enthusiasm. "Good you see you too, Raven." He waved. "Of course, I figured you'd be whole. I mean, you've got all that armor, and then the muscles. Not that I don't have muscles..." He trailed off.
Clearing his throat, he went on. "So, yeah, I had a crazy day yesterday. Me and some other people. Did Jyr tell you all about it, already?"

"No details, no," she shook her head, and reached up to take off her helmet. "It seems like it was quite an ordeal."
Judging by her face, Raven hadn't slept well knowing what little she did know. "And Carid...?"

"It was...well I can positively ID the symbol of the raiders." Jyrvess spoke as she entered, having caught some of the conversation.
She nodded to Manny, "We will make a spy of you yet. Quick thinking on the tracker."

"I want the full story," Raven crossed her arms, feeling antsy but also wanting to understand what had happened.

Jyrvess nods, "Have any tea on the ship Manny? This is going to be a while."
"Manny was hired to do a job with our old friend Jarvis." She rubs her chin, "I...didn't want him to go alone so took the job too, along with two others. Shoula, Manny's 'friend', and a Chiss woman...who may have been a bit off, but was skilled none the less."
"Err regardless we were sent into Gonk territory to pull out another Chiss fellow who had been helping the locals." She looks to Manny, "The job went off with nary a hitch until we hit mines on the way out. As it turns out someone had paid for an extraction for us. Possibly someone with Imperial ties...and for an assassination on the man we were trying to pull out. I recognized them from your wedding, and the symbol they tried to scrub off their clothing."
With a nod she finishes, "I wasn't in any shape to refuse transport and they seemed to not recognize me. Manny had a stroke of genius and planted a tracker on them."

"Hey, thanks Jyr!" Manny grinned. "I told you, I've got moves." He waved his hands about. It wasn't really 'moves'.
He waved a hand. "No tea, but I've got some kaf. How about that?" He lead the way into the ship. "Console's up by the cockpit. I'll be right back." He went the other way down the corridor, towards the galley.

Raven didn't feel strongly about kaf or tea, whatever it would be.
The report made her scowl, but she did look Jyr over with some concern. "Imperial ties...? And an assassination? Sounds like a pretty roundabout way to go about it, if you ask me."
A pause. "But how you feeling after the mines? No injuries we need to look at?"

Manny came back a minute or so later carrying three mugs of kaf, ably enough. "This'd be easier if I could juggle 'em." He said, grinning.
He passed one to Jyr, and then, after a bit of shuffling, the second to Raven. "So, uh..." Manny took a sip. "How does this work? Does it help if I type, too? I'm really fast at typing." He gave Jyr an enthusiastic nod.

"I didn't enjoy the experience but I am intact." Jyrvess grunted at the memory of the mine. "No ill effects...so far."
She gives Manny a scowl, if Jyr had been wearing glasses then the scowl would have been delivered so that her eyes would be looking at him from over the lenses. "I think I can handle this." Then, if she was wearing glasses, Jyr would have pushed her glasses up. She did snatch up a drink and took a few sips....then diving into the ships terminal.
"Done."

Raven held the mug of caf between her hands as she watched Jyr work.
"Did they say anything, when you were with them? Anything of importance?" she asked, mostly to Manny as she didn't want to disturb Jyr but they were standing right there so it wasn't like the question was secret.

From what Jyrvess understands of the work is that Manny's method of creating a tracker had risks.. the chances of it working were slim as for a connection to be made to a commlink like that typically it needs human input to enter before a ping would be sent back. A fear that she had when she began searching, letting the ping send out and see if anything returned so she could begin tracing the planetary coordinates from that return ping.
Minutes went by once she was set up and waiting, longer than it should have been but just in case she left it running and- it returned, suddenly and much closer than she believed it should have been given the time it took. Inspiring some relief which.. quickly turned into thoughtfulness as she retraced what she knew, and what she knew was that this ping being so close after waiting so long doesn't make any sense.
Unless.. of course.. someone allowed the connection from the other side. If someone had done that, that would explain everything. (Triumph reveals the trap clear as day.)
Basically: Jyrvess find an approximate location of where they are within the Middle City (general location). However, through the mechanics of knowing how things should work she's also pretty certain that someone on the other side allowed them to find it: so it's probably a trap.

"She wouldn't give me my card back." Manny said, shaking his head.
"Did we find something?" Manny asked, his eyes wide. "It made a beep!"

Jyrvess leaned back, her scowl had deepened. "It was easy."
She looked back to Raven and Manny, "Too easy. I think someone either expected us to plant a tracker or else found the device."
Jyrvess crosses her arms and nods in thought.
"Someone is playing a deep game with us."

There was a long and slow intake of breath from Raven as she looked around, and found a place to put down the half-empty mug.
"You're saying it's a trap?"
She did not at all sound pleased.

"I would be stunned if it wasn't." Jyrvess replied. "We could spring it...but with no information that could be unwise."

Manny looked thoughtful.
"So, one time, my friend Wookiee Willy was hanging out in the junkyard. We used to go there to scrounge parts for building a speeder. We never actually got enough parts, but we did make a rad fort once. Anyway, so, he was crawling along on the ground because we also liked to play hide and seek, and he got his hand caught in a pig rodent trap! So he stood up and started yelling, and I was yelling, and the rest of our crew was all yelling, and so I guess we kinda lost the game of hide and seek. And then the junkyard owner came running at us yelling... and then Wookiee Willy whacked him with the pig rodent trap! And we all ran away!"
He looked at the two of them expectantly.

Raven had for a moment looked like she was going to flip a table, or make a serious dent in the nearby wall, when Manny started talking. He was her friend, and he had been a great support and help, so she listened to what he had to say... waiting for the point...
"... What the kriff are you talking about?"

Manny looked at Raven. "Can we turn the trap around on them somehow?"
Geez, Raven wasn't the sharpest tool in the box sometimes.
