Varina closed her eyes; she didn't need them quite yet to listen in on anything. She tuned out the lingering achiness of her body and the chatter of the others.

Varina can barely make out the sounds of Sofia mumbling something to herself inside the room. A brief pause, enough for something to come to notice, she says, "Not now," to herself, her tone annoyed with something, and then Varina can hear her step further into the room, away from the door and presumably the half-broken mirror inside.

Things go relatively quiet, save for some moving around she can barely pick up from the distance.

Well, there was only one reasonable choice to make: pull out her garrote and be prepared for an ambush, more-or-less. She waited outside the door, hopefully in the blind spot, and hoped to pick up a little more context.

As she approaches down the hall toward the refresher she can see the door is open only barely. Giving her a potential to even see inside if she manages, but she'd still have to be quiet in getting closer.

Sneaking up close Varina can get a visual inside of the room. As she gets closer she sees more and more of the old bath that was installed in this place but had become far too worn down from disuse and time. Eventually she creeps forward enough that she catches sight of Sofia sitting on the edge of it, hands on her face. Hands back down, looking up, her face is flush and she's hyperventilating a little. Hand coming up to air herself down.

But before Varina can break away after seeing this...

"Hey," Manny shrugged, smiling, both at what Raven had said and what Dhel had said. "I mean, when you've got someone's back, you've got their back. And I've got both of your backs. Anytime you need."

"Uh..." He looked back and forth between the two of them. "Yeah. Maybe. I mean, if everything that they think is gonna go down goes down, then we're gonna wanna go keep our heads down." He scratched his head. Did that make sense? He wasn't sure.

There was some confused blinking to make sense of Manny being... Manny.

"Well, in any case, make sure to bring along some leftovers, hm? We'll be heading out from here pretty soon too. Just got some last things to finish up, and even if we're not in fighting condition today, we'll be doing our part. But for now," she smiled easily, "make sure to eat your fills. It's a rare treat to sit down for a meal like this."

All those years of skipping class had certainly not panned out in Varina's favor. Well, if she was acting shady around her group, then there was going to be a problem.

Varina wasn't quite sure what was going on, but Sofia was clearly in some form of distress. Distress that seemed to bottle up as Sofia's eyes lock with Varina's through the mirror. Standing, she doesn't come to the door immediately.

Strangle first and ask questions later or ask questions and strangle if the answers turn out bad. It was a bit of a dilemma, one that had to be solved quickly since she'd given up the element of surprise. Heck, she already seemed like she was having a hard time breathing...

"You going to tell me what's going on?" she asked. Seemed like someone freaking out would be easier to overpower and therefore unnecessary to make the first attack.

Coming around to the door, Sofia managed to get her composure back in order as she leans in, hand on and behind the door. A brief smile as she regards Varina, "I'm.." she shakes her head, "I just needed a minute. Kinda rude to spy on someone, don't you think?" she asks, but glances down a moment.

"But.. I did play with your emotions a little back then, so I'll call us even," she says with a brief smirk, a shrug of her shoulders.

Varina shrugged. "Do I look like the type of person who cares about rudeness?" Her brow drooped; she wasn't exactly going to turn around to see if any of her friends were around.

Instead, she put her metallic leg into the doorway. "I asked you what's going on though. I don't care if you're pretty, just tell me the truth." Why did she have to add that part?

Sofia grimaces as Varina forces her foot into the doorway. Opening it up a bit she glances down the hall and, with a sigh, leans in a little. Looking to Varina with a sympathetic look, like she was leveling with her totally, "Look.. I.. it's a little embarrassing," she chuckles a little, it seems uncomfortable, like this was awkward.

"I.. get panic attacks sometimes, they.. I can feel them coming on and I just didn't want that to happen in front of anyone. Soleene's been great, I was surprised to find you all being connected to her- let alone she was a Mandalorian but I shoulda figured. Guess I'm just a little uneasy some people might judge me for it, or.. get worried, ya know? Don't like to make people worry so I came back here to deal with it quickly.." she says, leaning in close as she speaks to give that sense of privacy to everything. A brief smile, she places her hand on Varina's shoulder. "You understand, right?"

Sofia sure was pretty, and she was pretty close to, but what's more she seems earnest, trustworthy. Enough so that Varina might even feel a little embarrassed for distrusting her, if it was her prerogative to do so. Best she could tell Sofia was actually leveling something personal here and disrespecting that would be beyond rude.

Well kissing her was probably the worst thing she could possibly do in this situation. Homies just didn't do that to each other. "So even you get panic attacks, huh?" Maybe if she wasn't so stupidly hormonal she'd see how uncharacteristic that was for this flirtatious dame. "I mean, I don't really understand them myself, but I do put on a tough face sometimes."

Damn it was easy to talk to this lady. But as Varina had already vowed, this pretty lady was in the no-fly zone. Like Praxton or Dhel! If Sofia did try anything, then Varina would definitely strangle her over that. Wait, was that something she was into? Confusing...

"Well, uh, don't take too long or somebody else will get suspicious." She tapped her head. "I got a good eye for this kind of thing."

"Thanks, you're a sweetheart.." she smiles, glancing to the side over her shoulder. "I'm just gonna get cleaned up and be right back out, okay? Can let anyone who asks know I'm just alright," she says, patting Varina on the shoulder and closing herself into the bathroom to do just as she said.

Dhel grins at that. "If we've gotta run, at least we'll be eating well then. It's really appreciated. Sholua's going to be disappointed to go back to a mostly eggs and seafood diet. I feel like I should have picked up one of the cookbooks at that little shop" She glances around at the folks there, and the signs that there have been more in this place. "You all on one ship to just head out of here then?" She grins. "Or is that a tactical secret kind of thing?"

She glances down the hall where the vanished members of the party have been for a while, though not quite long enough to worry. She leans toward Manny, resting a hand on his hip again. "There's another room on the ship, yeah? If maybe I wanted someone else to come with us? It's just that it's your ship, and I don't feel right just...inviting like that."

"Maybe next time we'll teach you how to make something like this," Raven suggested with a smile, not minding the talk of possibilities in the future. Might even be a good way for Praxton to socialise one at a time in the kitchen if he had that as his mission.

And she hadn't given those books to him yet so it was full on diversion mode. Which included taking another of her favorites from his plate. Sharing all meant food too, right?

"We got a ship, so to speak. So we don't all have to squeeze into Manny's ship."

Dhel laughs a bit. "I don't think you'd all fit, except for a very short emergency kind of trip. But yeah, I'd like to learn to make something like this sometime, when we all meet again." When, not if, as if saying it can make it magically true.

"The galaxy is big but surprisingly small sometimes. I'm certain we'll meet again." Especially if Dhel was going to stay with Manny's ship, and if they wanted to pursue the idea she had brought up to them.

At least Raven wasn't a heartless food-thief, as she offered Praxton food from her plate in return, the ones she remembered being his favorite.

"Besides, I'd be very sad if I didn't get to hear Dhel perform again. Unless she suddenly becomes a big star that will be broadcast all over the Holonet. Tough I doubt the Imps would let that happen, as they don't know good music when they hear it."

Varina stuffed her garrote back into her pocket as she made her way back to the festivities. In order to purge her mind of indecent thoughts, she guzzled down the rest of her beer and picked up the remains of her food. "Oh dang, you're going to get fat," she said to the little kitten.

"Where are you headed anyways?" she asked Dhel. Heck, she didn't even know the answer for herself.
