Tracking Hounds [D3EN]

They'd tracked leads. They'd worked contacts. They'd eaten street food. But finally, Manny and the Mandos were making some progress.
It had been a good place to check. Rebyk Motel just looked like a place where crime happened. And when did crime happen? Night. Manny knew that. Everybody knew that.
And so, acting on a tip, Manny and the Mandos had made their way back to the crimey place at a crimey time...

Given the hour and that they were technically on a hunt, Raven wore her helmet but with the cloak still concealing most of her armor and the hood up so it wasn't instantly recognizable as a Mandalorian helmet.
She was tired and was already getting tired of street food. Proper Mandalorian cooking is what she craved now.
As they were still in the city, she didn't carry her carbine with her, but her other weapons were still on her person.

Varina, however, was definitely going to pass off as not-a-Mandalorian to most people. She kept her cloak wrapped around her, concealing her rapier. "Surprised you found anybody in this damn city..."

At this hour the motel had just about as many lights on as were off. One group of about four individuals hanging out on the balcony just outside their room with a few scatterings of other groups that were no more than two in size. Nearby one individual wearing a cloak leaned onto the fence that blocked off the walkway from where folk could park their speeders, though there were very few speeders actually parked here and the ones that were weren't in the best of condition. Save for the van that was parked underneath the room where the largest group was hanging out with drinks in hand.

Manny slipped on his scanner goggles. "Make sure no one steals these from me."
He moved a little bit closer, standing casually, studying the various groups. It was possible one of those groups could be helpful... or trouble... and then of course there was a van. Maybe with his goggles and a closer vantage point he could figure out which was which?

Raven snorted a brief laugh. "Yeah, will do. I got your back."
She cautiously eyed the nearest one, and took up position near Manny. Mostly she was on the lookout for what they were wearing, if there were any familiar symbols or armor-styles. Or possibly familiar faces, considering she saw quite a few at the feast.

Varina also got her goggles out, though she didn't put them on quite yet. She didn't want it to look too explicit that she was looking around too. "Let's not cause any trouble with people uninvolved in this. Don't want to get distracted..."

Standing casually as he can with a pair of scanner goggles on, Manny sets out to study the various groups. All of which seem keen on ignoring strangers. Something not unexpected when he takes a closer look as everyone he can see is in casual wear. The main group outside on the second level all appear to have bottles in hand and the closer he gets the more he would be able to hear the music playing from inside the room. Other groups seem to be similarly minding their own business, and at least one pair are locking lips while another go into their room hand in hand.
Best he can tell, it's just the night life of the motel.

Manny looked at the others. "What about that van? That's the sort of thing I'd steal when I wanted to do crime."

Raven couldn't see anyone wearing armor, or those red wolf-symbols that some of the Raiders had sported.
"Guess it's worth a shot. Nothing else is standing out..."

"Vans are pretty sketchy. So much so that I'm starting to feel like they should be going out of style." Varina shrugged. "I'm pretty sure we could take anybody who's inside if it came down to it."

Still walking casually, Manny moved up to the van, until he was close enough to look inside.

Walking up toward the van one of the women up on the balcony peers over at him, drink in hand. Not quite distracted with the rest of the conversation as the others she finds some interest in Manny as he walks over.
Inside the van he can see patterned leather seats, a few bottles, and if he gets close enough a blue/pink pair of fluffy dice hanging from the mirror inside. Peering through the window from the front, out in the back of it the door are open and there's a box with a few empty spaces for bottles with the rest filled, half still had their caps.

"You uh.. looking for something?" a woman's voice came up from behind Manny. Just a few feet away with a pair of keys in her hand.

Varina narrowed her eyes at the lady. She was pretty, enough to be somebody's girlfriend, but certainly not Manny's. That would just ruin it all. But could she be Varina's girlfriend? No, she was probably too old, like that one dude she met. "What if I was looking for you?" she asked. She coupled it with the winks she saw in the holovids.
Damn hormones.

Sofia looked from Manny to Varina with a cocksure grin as she glanced off toward the van and slipped the key into her jacket pocket. Turning half to Varina and half to Manny she focused on Varina, that grin melding into a smile, "Well, I'd suggest it'd be better to do it in a place that might serve a few drinks with prettier names than what Torkie brought with him tonight."
"Somethin' I can help either of you with then," she asked with a quirked brow.

Startled, Manny turned, looking back and forth between the woman and Varina. "Uh... that's right! Looking for you, uh... babe?" He gave her twin finger guns, half smiling, half grimacing.
"Torkie?" Manny's eyebrows went up. "Actually... maybe you can. We're looking for some nasty sorts. Armor, bad attitudes, like to fight..." He frowned. Wasn't he just describing regular Mandalorians?
"Raven, Varina, can you describe what we're looking for?" He looked at them sheepishly.

As Manny called her name, she turned around to look in his direction, as she had been keeping an eye on their surroundings elsewhere. Manny's description kind of fit Raven too, so she hoped things wouldn't get too awkward when she stepped closer.
The woman, in her opinion, did not look like a Mandalorian at all. But perhaps she knew more than she seemed to. "... I'm looking for the group calling themselves the Salky Raiders. Specifically, a man named Carid."

With a low whistle when Raven came out she chuckled, "Nice kit," but refocused on what was being said to her after, looking to Manny at the time and then tracking over to Raven. Hands in her jacket pocket she pushed out against it a little so it tugged at her shoulders as she gave it a thought, shaking her head. "Not by those names no.." she looked to Varina a moment, then back to Raven, "but I have seen a few folk wearin' armor like that recently. That might help?"

"That might help," she echoed in agreement, nodding. "Could you tell us where?"
Raven could ask nicely!
