No pressing matters [D1 MA, Open]

After going through all the necessary procedures at the Spaceport and getting her few belongings settled in a room at the local Motel, Zimrzala decided to go for a walk to get somewhat acquainted with the area she'd be around in the weeks to come. She kept coming back to the thought that 'something' would be happening soon... but that was such a vague idea.
She looked at the people around. She had become used to seeing new faces every month or two, had become used to being more and more self-reliant. That was perhaps one of the things her teacher had meant when he said she had to 'find her own path'.
Eventually, she stopped in front of a place that seemed... curious. The front of the house was run down, and some machines could be seen inside - abandoned for quite some time, for all she could tell by a first look. There seemed to be some things left around, possibly by others who had used the place for their own ends... but there was nothing to indicate anyone around, apparently.
And, perhaps oddly... she felt a sense of calm and peace emanating from this abandoned place.
She looked around the street. Noone seemed to be paying her much attention, so she decided to venture inside and take a better look at it.

And in that she was wrong; Qar had been on the lookout for safe houses across the city and the decrepit environs like these seemed to be providing worthy candidates. He had just come from around the corner on his bike when she was coming inside. Curious, he slowed down, stopped, collapsed the frame and pulled his Dart toward the entrance as well.

Hearing the sudden noise, she stopped in her tracks and quickly scanned around for anything she could quickly hide behind. A nearby printing machine seemed to be the best bet, and she tried to make her way there and get a glimpse of what - or who - was approaching...

[I don't think they're going to be needed.]
As no-one greeted Qar inside, he just smirked, cleared his throat, leaned against his bike and drew out a tabac stick to smoke it. He did so slowly, in silence, waiting. Nothing he wore could indicate that he was anyone else than a biker.

She tried to get a peek of whoever that was - her nose and tendrils smelling the smoke indicated it was most definitely a 'who'.
...A green-skinned biker smoking a tabac stick.
That didn't look inordinately menacing...
She slowly shifted about in her hiding spot. Maybe there were others there as well? Still... that style was more suggestive of the rebels she'd been around in other planets than any usual Imperial officers.
After a long while, she stood up - the hood on her robes diligently covering her head and her tendrils so she could look human enough, at first sight at least.
"Hello", she attempted.

"I was wondering when you were going to get uncomfortable in there." He glanced at her throw a billow of smoke from a spectacular puff. "Fancy a stick for company's sake?" He rolled a packet in his fingers.

She slowly makes her way towards him among the rubble on the floor.
"Hm. I'm not a big fan of smoking myself. But I'll take the company."
She nods while taking a better look at him. "Zimrzala. New in town. You know... getting a look at... things", she said, a bit uncertainly.

"I know that much. I saw you on the ferry." He paused to puff. "Qar. Your name's nice but a bit of a mouthful. Can I call you Zee?"
Qar met the description of both hand- and trouble- with -some suffix. Bike and leathers incorporated in his demeanour, he carried himself like a rebel, low-case r, though it was unclear against what precisely he might be rebelling. Not that life under the Empire provided a poor menu of revolting phenomena.

She nodded at him with a weak, maybe shy smile. "Well", she said in a soft, calm voice. "I suppose names should be meaningful to both those who use and and those called by them. So... if Zee is more meaningful to you, go ahead."
She extended her hands. "I... think I remember you from the ferry too. Also new to the planet?"
Her own appearance is... quite nondescript, in fact. Large robes covering most of her body, the few parts he can see underneath showing simple travelling clothes. No visible weapons - in fact, very little in terms of visible belongings, although one perceptive enough might notice a small bulge in one of her pockets - probably a comlink or cred-wallet. The hood half-covered two of the features probably most remarkable about her - some yellow-greenish tendrils, which she had where a human's hair would be, showed from the front of the hood, and her eyes had a deep blue colour and a pattern in her pupils that was almost reminiscent of swirling water.
Other than that, the only notable feature was a thin, apparently metallic ring-like pendant with a tube inside it. Those who knew such things might recognise it as a miniature version of a H'kig chime.

Qar couldn't be further from knowing such things. He also didn't give due regard to all the details about the girl called Zee as they didn't seem readily relevant. Besides, there was some smoke between them. He got that she was a Mikkian alright though, he had seen enough of her kind to tell. The garment was weird, he could bet she'd look much better in something different, but let's not clothes-shame.
"As green as spotchka with orange juice. I was just on a pioneering ride around town when I met, well, you, Zee, skuling here. What's this place even? A small factory?"

"... seems to be.", she says, looking back at the place. "Or rather, seems like that's what it was. It looks pretty much abandoned. I'd guess some squatters found a home here for some time... but even that seems to have been a while ago. The equipment's all here, though, it seems. Not that I would know what to do with it..."

"Guess what's still in here can't be too useful if it hasn't been scavenged." He shrugged. "Another industrial graveyard you probably couldn't do much about even if your really wanted."
He looked deeper into the premises. "Still, wanna look around?"

She looked back at the rubble and the machines just standing there. "Either that... or whatever
is useful is better left and used here. May not be worth the trouble to lug these things elsewhere if they can somehow still be made use of." She shrugs. "Not that I would know..."
Looking back at him, she nods. "Well, it's worth a better look, yeah", she says, and turns to walk inside again.

"So let's, Zee." He smirked at the pun. "I'm sorry, you can pun my name all you like in revenge."
Having said that, he started looking around for something curious.

It's clear that this place long since had anything of real value taken from it. You do find several old stories from here, detailing the past of Bellionas. Better times of what this city had going while the Republic still held onto whatever control it could. It seems like a such a far away dream with the Empire surrounding you the way they are now.
Other than that, it look like a secure location to hold up. Though, should the worst happen, you do find a clever little means to make a exit, should you absolutely need to. One of the machines appears to have something on the side that you could squeeze out of to make your way outside. Hopefully that never comes up, but good to use in a pinch.

Zimrzala smirked at Qar's pun, one brow raises, and seems for a while to be thinking of an answer, but ends up just entering after the Mirialan and looking around as well.
The fact that this would make a good place for a safehouse isn't lost on her - and she looks favourably at there being a good way to get out if needed.
Not that she has any plans to set up anywhere but the Motel for now, of course, as she hadn't even got into contact with any group for now.
But it's definitely something to keep on mind.
She spends some time looking into the old stories as well. Her face is stony as she reads one after another. The peaceful atmosphere she feels there helps her keep calm... But it seems clear to Qar that there is something going on inside as she reads.

I'd thrown the dice already, but I don't think it matters now

"Do you like old books?" His own curiosity about the place largely satisified - a safehouse is what he had been looking for - he brought his attention back to the Mikkian.

She raises her head from one of the texts and gives him a faint smile. "Got used to learning much more by speaking and doing things than by reading... but I guess I do find it interesting to know what things were like before"
She walks closer holding one of those books, shows him one passage describing how the people in Bellionas had worked to create what they had now. The mentions of the Middle and Upper city do make her wonder a bit how things were, but it's still a description of much more cheerful times.
"It... helps, I guess. Sometimes. Not that I'm any connoisseur, of course."

"Hmm." He looked over her shoulder onto the content. "Is there something on mysteries encountered during early colonisation?"

"Mysteries? Hm. Not sure?"
She looked back at the book, tried to leaf through the contents.
OOC:
Is there? Or can I roll for that?
