Last Prep, First Request [Day 4, LM-EE]

by Meiyokashi
Event Type: Cooperative, Hidden
Participants: All
Timeslot:
One slot of Players Choice between and including Late Morning to Early Evening.
Regardless of timeslot chosen please post the roll in this thread.
Everything is prepared, now is the time to get the word out. Sera and Mara have given their time toward picking out a list of individuals that would be able to and possibly even willing to spread the word among the Bellionassians on where and how to tune into the broadcast. However, some are concerned with the risks and others simply need convincing. However, this is not the only option available. Mylar, and Sera, have both agreed that there are other methods and people they could get in contact with to help spread the word. While they have the means and credits to convince these people there would still need to be the legwork done to get a meeting and handshake.
This event takes place throughout Capitol City but is located within the Abandoned Printing Press as it is the current central location for this string of events.
Event:
Any check made during this event is at a base of Average difficulty. Triumphs may be used to upgrade the check of the next roller, add an additional point to the total, or create a secondary benefit for the roller.
Threats and Advantage will be used on a 2 to 1 scale granting boosts or setback to the next roller.
Success' add 2 points to the total.
3+ Success' add an additional point.
5+ Success' add another additional point.
The total points needed to determine the level of success will not be made available. Please feel free to use any triumphs earned as you please.
Charm (Presence) will be used to sweet talk and otherwise convince some local leaders, either businesspeople like Dol or those like the Pantoran woman in the lower city, to help spread the word about the broadcast that will be starting tonight.
Leadership (Presence) will be used to inspire people who are otherwise uncertain about the risks of the part they can play or even gathering groups of people and convincing them to tune in for the broadcast.
Streetwise (Cunning) will be used to walk the streets and convince those within the underworld and through the vast web of contacts that exists within the city of Bellionas to get people interested to tune in.

by Raven Cadera
Raven had a forceful personality, and she approached the situation by speaking with people as a Mandalorian would. Straight-forward, direct, brutally honest.
It worked pretty well with those folks who already saw things the same way as her, but it had some negative effects on those more cautious.

by Soleene Stryss
Soleene decided to try to convince the locals near the end of the day. Based on what she overheard from a manager once, at the end of the day people were less likely to think about work and were just looking to relax, which potentially made them more susceptible to suggestions. It was the reason why people didn't advertise their clubs in the morning when people had other things to care about.
She stood at a busy intersection with her armour, hoping to turn that unwanted attention into something beneficial for once. Her hands were raised to get people's attention as she barked the newest sensation of the city. "Uhm...Hey, people! Tune in to Radio Bellionas! It's the talk of the town..." as people continued to go about their evening and bumped past her, she quickly lost patience and dropped the pitch.
"Ugh...I'm not a promoter!" She yelled out in frustration, feeling very silly for attempting in the first place.
Day 4, Early Evening, Last Prep, First Request: Charm (Presence) + 1 Advantage!:
1eP+2eA+2eD 0 successes, 3 advantage
Final Result: 4 Advantage
2 Boost to the next roll!

Lassa had heard through her contacts that the radio station had been completed and the word needed to get out. She spoke with the people near the hotel through a series of conversations with trusted locals... in the most secretive way she knew how.

by Dhelih Dotaivi
Honestly, the folks Dhel knows who'll spread the word are behind counters and on stages. But performers boost one another's gigs all the time, so it's not difficult to add a note about something new coming up and worth a listen.
She also wanders off with handfuls of flyers from the tourist kiosk, scribbles station information on them while chatting over lunch, and tucks them back into the kiosk that afternoon. A bit random, but she's gotten some audience that way before.

D4, LM, EVENT: Leadership [0]/Presence [1] vs. 2 difficulty:
1eA+2eD 2 failures, 1 threat
FX-12 beeped along in solemn agreement to Mylar's instructions on how best to instill a sense of needing to help others in biological sapients, but let's just say that it's difficult to really understand empathy when its programmed into you.
This unit understands, --MYLAR--. This unit is to strike a pose... The droid rose to its full height on its many, many legs
...with its core frontal area projected forward... It shoved its bulk forward, looming over Mylar.
And strikes the end of its arm to its core frontal area There was a loud CLANG!
It then makes a speech that stirs the heart of biological sapient. "Sapient, you may be predisposed to the belief that your system is fragile. You may believe that the social bonds that you and your progenitors have built could be categorized a sham that is hollow. But are you aware that it is actually quite challenging to terminate the spirit of a biological sapient? Their bodies are frail in some parts, though surprisingly durable in others, and easily broken if you know where to apply pressure, but their hearts are tough...in a metaphorical sense. Physically they are still quite squishy and prone to infection when exposed. A word of encouragement is all it takes for the spirit to be made whole! But again, do not expose the heart in a non-sterile environment. Words will not help in that case.
Mylar sighed. "Maybe...maybe not today FX-12."

Jaxom spent the afternoon speaking with some old friends, convincing them to listen to the coming broadcasts and to spread the word. They seemed willing to do so, but more than one eyed him suspiciously. Hr hoped his association with these efforts wouldn't diminish them.

by Jyrvess Ertil
Jyrvess took to the streets trying to convince the local underbelly of the value of the propaganda network. Alas she was still too new to the planet and not yet trusted in the paranoid circles of semi-organized crime.
Also she keep hearing about some shifty used speeder salesman looking guy that had been making the rounds, so most already assumed Jyrvess was part of his con.

by Tenzing
It was time to put all that time served to good use. Mara and Sera had pulled everything together to bring them this far, now they just needed an audience. All those years of walking the mean streets of Capitol City meant that Tenzing had a long list of contacts, all of whom had good reason to dislike the Empire.
A few hours of conversations in shady places later and he'd amassed a small army of willing, if somewhat sketchy, listeners. Maybe he'd even been more persuasive than he realised...
D4. LM. Last Prep, First Request. Average Streetwise. Destiny flip.:
2eP+1eA+2eD 2 successes, 1 Triumph
Success = +2 points.
Triumph used for secondary benefit to user: Tenzing finds he has some unexpected allies in the underworld ready to join the cause.

by Zimrzala Skalirz
Zim had said she'd be back to the Lower City from time to time... and there she was, again. This time, she took some time speaking to people - Nanna too, but also the common people down there. For those in their condition, who had so much to fear and to worry about just to get through each day, even risking to hope sounded like a threat, so it wasn't easy to get them to gather the courage to gather in small groups near whatever devices they might have that could be used to tune in to the broadcast.
But with calm, kind words, reminding them that working together made them survive day after day, finally convinced at least some of them that working together and holding on to hope might also pave the way for better times.
D4 LA - Last Prep, First Request. Leadership/Presence vs Avg in the Lower City. Intense Focus.:
2eA+1eP+2eD 1 success, 1 threat
[+2 Points for 1 Success; 1 Threat doesn't do anything I guess]

Claymore isn't much of a talky, but does do what he can with his tech nerds and mechanics around the area of the Mandalorian hideout. He wasn't expecting much, but he was able to get some people on board.

Having a murder bot spread the word among the was bad enough, but, having a murderbot that was clearly identifiable as a former CIS one was even worse.
Bixe's somewhat succeded, largely, maybe, because this planet was formerly part of the CIS, but the droid still did a bad job and might had made the efforts backfire in the future...

by Dr. Aanli Ven
((It's 2 to 1 threat to setback, so just one setback. Which also means you shouldn't have had a setback.))
Dr. Ven took to her part as discretely as possible. Pop up clinics here and there, listening for possible sympathetic candidates, but she was perhaps too cautious, and was too reluctant to extend the information and too oblique when she did.
D4 LM Event: Leadership/Pre, Destiny for, setback from prior:
2eA+1eP+2eD+1eS 0 successes

by Manny Donos
If there was anything Manny was good at, it was talking up sketchy or unpopular things. After all, that was basically his magic show, wasn't it!
"Extra, extra, hear all about it!" Manny was using his old-timey voice as he approached some gang members. "Tune in for the latest scoop. C'mon!" He grinned at them, then pulled an egg from nowhere. "Let's get cracking!" He cracked the egg open, the yolk spilling out onto the sidewalk.
The gang members looked at each other. Then back at him. Then they all started laughing.
They'd remember, that's for sure.
