... To defeat the Empire.

Raven had done a pretty good job of whipping some undecided folks into taking a stand, and to listen to this... radio show? But mostly to remind them that the Empire was terrible and need to go down. Preferrably in a blaze of glory with lots of fighting going on.

After finishing her assignment for the resistance, she took a sweep of the base to make sure everything seemed to be fine. The optics of her helmet so far couldn't pick up anything out of place.

At the desk where the broadcasts would be done from, Mara was there. Hunched over a little she had a small blade in her hand and was putting some pressure on it to slowly and, to the best of her ability, carefully etch something into the desk they'd procured.

Having not had a chance to assess this young leader herself, Raven figured she might as well approach. Coming closer, she craned her neck to get a look at what she was etching into the desk.

"Ma'am," her modulated voice said in an almost gentle tone in greeting.

Looking up from her work she found Raven and her eyes seemed distant a moment, like she was scanning for a pair of eyes but found none. A look of realization washed over her expression as she put on a smile that slowly became more natural, "That makes me sound old," she chuckled briefly, setting the blade aside, "you can just call me Mara," she said, and offered her hand.

The armored woman shrugged, then chuckled. "Mara then." Taking the offered hand, she was especially careful to not squeeze hard like she would with a Mandalorian. "Name's Raven. Part of the... uh... 'special detail'? From Julo."

Mara's grip was a bit delicate, as Raven might have expected, "Of course," she smiled, a touch awkward. "Julo spoke a lot about you.. and Mandalorians. From the stories you all, Mandalorians that is, sounded rather vicious.. I wasn't sure what to expect," she paused, hesitating a little with that same touch of awkwardness to her smile.

"I didn't know I was famous?" Raven offered a chuckle to put her at ease. "Vicious in battle against a foe, yes, but we're not like that all the time. And not with our allies."

Mara chuckled briefly along with Raven, settling a little in her chair and wearing a bit easier of a smile. "Your people are- different, they see virtue in places that my parents warned me against. Violence.. used to solve a problem only creates two more," she regained a little more of that awkwardness to her smile.

"Still.. Sera has done her part to remind me that at times there is a need to protect oneself and for our purposes.. I am glad you're here. Julo has also done his part to inform me of the many other talents and spirit found within the Mandalorian people and I hope we only ever need to make use of that instead of your aptitude for battle."

"Perhaps." She agreed vaguely on violence causing more trouble. "We hope that this works out as you hope and intend; without the need for violence. But when need arises, we are ready to fight for the cause." Raven would hate to admit that some of Mand'alor's talkiness was rubbing off on her.

Relaxing more, she took a seat nearby on a solid crate. "Fighting for your homes and families is a fight we respect and understand. Though... well, you won't hear this from most Mandalorians, but peace has its place too and it's worth fighting for. I don't know if you're familiar with the New Mandalorians under Duchess Satine Kryze? They were pacifists, you know. And for a good reason, as civil wars and infighting was tearing us apart as well as our homeworlds." She had never seen it herself but Raven had been told Kalevala was mostly toxic desert after so many conflicts.

"Problem is though, you can't just remove conflict. You can manage it, minimize it even, but the moment someone holds a blaster at you and your family, pacifism won't save anyone. Peace is a worthy goal, but it can quickly cost more lives if you're more dedicated to the act of pacifism than the reason why you want peace."
