With the efforts all made to the best of their abilities, Mara thanked everyone she saw and sent most on their way. Sera, Mylar, and Petra were some of those that remained and possibly a few others but the one's at the helm wouldn't miss this moment. Though, the others were currently doing the final checks giving Mara a few moments alone to herself. Sat at the desk with a light on the control terminal she looked up at the cloth with which they covered a hole in the roof to blot out the light from this building.
Reciting to herself a nursery rhyme she remembered from when she was younger.

Deonis had been less useful with the tasks that the resistance had been working on the past few days but he would still come by and continue helping clean stuff up, move things aside, that sort of thing. He had just finished working on that and looking around to see most people had left.
He saw Mara in front of the control panel and moved toward her "You ready?" He asked, his voice deep and slightly modulated but hints of a core worlds accent seeping in.

Mara caught herself mid-rhyme when she heard Deonis' voice. Looking about to see if anyone else was there, an embarrassed blush rising in her cheeks as she settled her heart a moment. Gulping down she nodded, "I better be," she said, glancing up toward where she was looking prior but back to focusing on Deonis a second later.
"When my parents were active they were a bit more.. conspicuous than this.." she sighed, "standing up in front of crowds and speaking their hearts out to the people gathered. It was.. amazing, watching them speak so passionately and watch how everyone listened to each one like they were giving them the instructions to life. This isn't like that, not as hard," she smiled, awkward and off to the side of her mouth.
"All I have to do is speak into this microphone and hope my words reach people. Doesn't really stop the butterflies though.." she chuckled.

Deonis nodded at her words regarding her with a steady stare, as far as she could tell "What you do is no less brave. Can't do what they did, you'd be dead or imprisoned in a day."
A large hand rested on her shoulder "What you do is brave. Don't underestimate it. You are strong. Good leader." he gave her a small squeeze of the shoulder meant to be reassuring "We wouldn't be here otherwise."

"Strange.." she looks up at him, giving a half smile. "You're more the stranger than Sera, and you'd think that would make the words feel less real- and it does- a little, but in another way it's refreshing to hear someone who's more the stranger than not say it. Thank you," she smiles again, nodding her head.
"I'm just hoping that.. in the end, at the very least, this all winds up not being completely the same as my parents. Nothing we're doing yet is illegal but- the Empire doesn't care for people poking into their business and I have a lot of plans for that. A lot of plans.."

Deonis pulled up a chair and sat across from the young woman turned rebellion leader "It will matter. They will remember. We cannot defeat the Empire with a radio but we can bring hope. You can bring hope. Hope is one of the most powerful weapons there is." he lapsed into silence for a moment.
"I am a stranger. I have been helping for more than a year and still I am a stranger." he took a deep breath "I trust you. Believe in you and what you try to do here." he reached up undoing the clasps on his helmet slowly pulling it off revealing crimson skin and burning yellow eyes, not human clearly but what he was she would likely not know unless she was a history buff
"My name is Anashis Harik. It is nice to meet you Mara Kayde." he reached a hand out to shake hers, his own slightly trembling. She likely did not realize the depth of the gesture but it didn't matter if she did.

Recognizing the depth of the gesture from the gesture alone she would have had no hope, but what he would be certain of from the look in her eye as she matched his was the connection she often was able to share with people. One that often allowed her to intercede where others couldn't and in this moment allowed her to sense just from his own reaction the gravity of it.
With a warm smile she rises from the seat and extends her own hand to match his, "It's my pleasure to make your acquaintance Anashis Harik," she gripped his hand. "And thank you.. for everything you have done, and everything you continue to do."

Anashis gives her hand a very solid shake and returns the warm smile "Of Course Ms. Kade. Need not thank me. You of all people know why I do this. Know the pain of the Empire taking everything from you. What I do I do for you happily."
releasing her hand he replaces the helmet on his head and seems more settled "After living this way. This is more comfortable." he settled down and regarded her once again but knowing what the eyes behind the visor looked like made its gaze a little less cold "We'll get these fuckers. and if we can't beat them, we'll sure as hell make them remember us."

"I'm not so concerned with being remembered.." she looks up to him, a soft smile dashing across, "but I understand what you intend. We'll do what we can so that our actions have meaning," she says but is distracted. Looking to Sera over Deonis' shoulder the woman gives her a thumbs up and a nod, inspiring a pang of anxiety to streak across Mara's expression which settles as she looks back to Deonis.
"Come," she smiles, looking around and gathering a nearby stool for Deonis. "It'd mean a lot if you were here for this," she smiled again and looked to the stool and then him. Inhaling, exhaling, she settles her nerve and takes her seat. With some brief final preparation she pulls up the mic and scoots close to begin.
"Alright.." she flicks a switch and a green light lights up on many of the nearby machines.
"Hello, this is the Voice of Bellionas..." she pauses, collecting her thoughts as she looks to Deonis, "I want to talk to you about my family. A family that has spoken, fought, and worked hard to create a home here on Bellionas worthy of their children for generations. Yet it is also a family that has stumbled, and fallen. Bellionas fought against the Republic in pursuit of an ideal, we fought for our freedom, but in this fight we were weakened and weakened as we were the Empire claimed ownership of what was never its to claim. In order to maintain that claim it has done all in its power to make us believe that it has claimed everything we are, the Empire deceives us into believing it has claimed the spirit of our people."
"But it hasn't.. the spirit of my family, the people of Bellionas, is not something the Empire can take from us. It is not something they can claim. When we first settled this planet in a time only history remembers we did so by facing the truth of our reality. That our world we would call home is a harsh one, but it was a place we could make our home. I think it is time that we look to the inspiration of the past in these dark and harsh times and face the realities of our situation, hostages of an Empire which has goals we do not understand. Our home is harsh once again and we need to look to and accept the truth of it. Then, like the people who first came here and called Bellionas home we need to work together, because together we built a home here once and we can do it again," she says, and clicks off for the first broadcast of many. Leaning back against her seat she rests her head back, a cool air brush against a bead of sweat.
