With the first batch of folks funneling into the establishment everyone makes their way over to Drezzie himself before looking to partake in anything. One of those souls in the first round was Kira. With a bright and jovial smile the old man calls her name and wraps his arms around her, "Kira! Long time! Ever think about comin' back into the city, could always use another good pair of han-" she shakes her head.
"Sorry, salespitch still ain't working. Not even on an event like this," she returns the hug big and full. Chatter starts to pick up around them as more people file in and those already settled find their place to lounge for the next while. Others at the bar ordering whatever would fill their needs. "Too much-"
Drezzie lets her go, shaking his head, "I know, I know. Too much tension last you were here. Needed to have a doc patch up your breaks near as often as you patched up ours, hmm?" he gave her a big grin. Returned with a smile she nodded and patted him on the shoulder.
"Sure as hell do miss some of you though- congratulations, by the way, meant a lot to have the word still travel out toward me."
"Of course! Once family, always family!" he gave with a hearty laugh.
"That's good to hear, let me let you get back to your other guests, hmm?" she leans in, giving the old man a quick hug. Shifting away from the position barely as the next person began their own somewhat similar exchange Kira made her way over toward the bar and picked a stool while she waited for the other guests to be served. Pulling up an old datapad from her back pocket in the meantime. Resting the pad on the bar she tinkers with it absently, trying to get the old thing to work again.

Sholua was not one to pass up a good party, especially one that might lead to jobs or at least connections to future jobs. And a drink. Ok mainly the drink, and it was nice to be at one of these things and not working it. She'd even left the sword at home.
She wasn't a regular regular, but she was regular enough to get the regular treatment, regularly. Which found her sauntering over to Drezzie to congratulate him on the spawning . . . hopefully without using that particular turn of phrase.

Nimbo was sitting on the stool next to where Kira sat down, but he didn't seem to respond. In fact, he sat there as still as only a droid could. No breathing, no blinking, no movement at all. Like sitting next to a realistic statue. Then all at once, a bunch of minor ticks all activate, initially off-putting and uncomfortable before the random intervals began spacing out and leading to a much more accurate facsimile of life.
He orders a drink and sits there holding it, using it as a prop and to not be the jerk sitting at the bar not ordering anything.

"Sholua! You're a sight for sore old eyes," he said with his standard warmth of the evening. Drezzie wasn't usually the excitable type in his every day but he was always warm. Today was, after all, a special occasion. Taking his space he readied himself for whatever type of greeting felt more natural to her.

Briefly pausing in her work Kira looked up from the pad to spy Nimbo but ignored the impulse that first came. Letting them to their moment she tried to refocus back on what she was doing with the datapad but before long she found her gaze drifting upward once more toward Nimbo, human curiosity. However, much as curiosity kept her looking up a mix of decency and anxiety brought her gaze back down to the pad. For the time span this repeated once or twice more as they sat.

"And you're just the same as ever."
She smiled at him, while looking him up and down.
"I see being a grandfather suits you. You've already got that 'I'm going to spoil them rotten' look in your eye."
It seemed she was on the happy side of her moods today. as she closed the distance quickly and gave the old man a surprisingly fierce hug.
"Congratulations!"

Drezzie brings her in close, offering that structure to the fierceness of the hug. Smell of old cigar smoke in his jacket leaking out into the moment. Jovially laughing as they embraced. "Thank you, thank you, my dear," he laughed some more.
"I'm looking forward to it! I've already got to thinking for the first few years of gifts," he chuckled again with that hearty tone. "But how have you been? So rarely do I get the chance to ask after you."

Deonis sat a bit away from the crowd, he'd been on the planet for some time and had crossed paths with more than one person here tonight but he wasn't an overly social creature.
The man sat in full armor a thin metal tube going under the helmet and to the drink in his hand. It was peculiar, but a strangeness the bartender had long gotten used to.

"Oh I'm busy as always. And yes, you still don't want to know what with."
She liked a distance between work places and fun places and many of her employers valued discretion.
"Enough to get by, not enough to go swanning around the Upper City."
She backed off a little, checking if there was a queue to greet the happy grandfather yet.

Kira, much to the same extent of treatment Nimbo was getting, couldn't help but let that human curiosity sneak it's way into her mind. Wasn't something she hadn't seen before, folk who don't want to remove their helmet, but this particular method was.. well, weird to her. Before she stared for so long that it was without a shade of a doubt she would be noticed she looked back down to the datapad and sighed. There was no way she was managing to focus on this with all the people here.
Best to get a drink, and so she waved down the young man Drezzie hired a year or so back whom already served the other two.

As the doors very recently opened there was an ever building queue of folks behind her, at current two or three depending on how she appraised the way some folk were standing. Are they on the line? Just hanging out? Really, just impossible to tell.
"Folk that manage enough to go swanning around the Upper City don't come through here, usually," he laughs into a soft-cough. Clearing himself up he renews his smile. "Well, as long as you're alright dear. Know you always got family down here where the streets are home, hmm?" he reaches out with a hand and places it on her shoulder just off to the side more on the arm giving that reassuring pat. "That goes for most folk in this alley at least, I reckon," his smile bursts into another laugh. "Can't speak for anywhere else! I don't get very far," he laughs again, nice and hearty.

Nimbo looked back and forth from Kira to its drink, resulting in those awkward momentary glimpses of eye contact.
Noticing the armored individual, it mused to itself the fact that they don't want to expose their skin, while Nimbo didn't want to expose their metal. Different extremes of a strange spectrum.
Turning to Kira fully, Nimbo opens conversation. "Your several glances suggest some form of curiosity. Were you interested in my expertly crafted appearance? Or perhaps you have heard of my exploits and/or skills and are in awe? I am amenable to satisfying any inquiries you might offer."
The somewhat recognizable patters of aggrandizement and pride common to some models of protocol droids is relatively obvious. But it was also off since he was more self-involved and less ingratiating than normal.

A series of beeps and boops echoes from the doorway as a very sharp medical droid enters the room, its many legs clicking on the floor and its strange top section slowly rotating. In one of its frightening industrial arms, it bears a present wrapped in gaudy paper and ribbon.
*BOOP! boop-boop BEEEEEP!* *click* A recording audibly turns over and an excited older man's voice echoes from somewhere within the droid's vasty interior: Happy Birth Day! And Congratulations to the happy parents! *click* *Beep-beep!*

"Oh kriff me-" she seems to startle a moment but catches a hand over her heart, laughing and shaking her head. "That's-" her words drifted from her as she started to focus on the situation. Looking from Nimbo to Deonis, making the same appraisal and connection about their interesting switched around situations.
Shifting around on her stool a bit she leaned forward to inspect him a little, "Seen a lot on Coruscant but nothing quite like this. So, yea. Your appearance is a bit different than most of the droids I've seen. You.. do this yourself?" she asked, leaning back a bit to get a little more appropriate with her viewing of the craftwork.

"I did not perform the synthcrafting myself, but I drew up the design," he replies.
"I have been working on a baseline for approximating life for some time, all personalized for my modified chassis. The synthskin is a recent addition, but I've done extensive work on joints and servos as well as automated lifesign subroutines. The synthskin is even integrated with cooling systems to apply lifelike warmth. I intend to make small modifications to emulate a pulse. I'm particularly proud of my breathing simulation, which includes random coughing based on sensors that detect airborne irritants."

"Still.. designs are pretty impressive," she smirks on a thought as she leans in a little again. Finding a bit of support for the lean with both elbows rested against her thighs as she scanned for the details of how it all crafted together. "Guess I've heard of folk doing this for.. well, reasons. But you doing this yourself that's a lot of work for a droid alone in the galaxy. A lotta risk too. Is it rude to ask why you wanted to go through all this?" she asked, her brow raising as she looked up to him again.

"It will continue to improve, it will become nearly impossible to notice without powerful tools, and I will be able to go unnoticed among others eventually. I will simply be another sentient to everyone. Wo doesn't know me. And once the standard reaction is treating me as organic I will be able to change my face, go anywhere and be anyone. Freedom from recognition, discrimination and expectation and freedom to be what I wish."

"Droids . . . at least this one sounds friendly. And I know Drezzie, I know. I just wouldn't want to bring any
entanglements down on folks here."

"At least," Drezzie laughed softly, shaking his head a little. Giving her one final appraisal, a look over before smiling again. "You've got a good heart. Been around the galaxy enough in my years to know how rare those are," he smiled, taking her hand into his and patting the back of hers once. Letting her go he gave one last nod before turning toward the droid entering.
"Whoa-ho my friend, all the excitement!" he said with a raised joviality to his voice. "You know this isn't exactly the kind of affair you bring a gift to, hmm?" he asked with a slight chuckle.

Leaning back a bit, respectfully appraising Nimbo again she smiled first and then chuckled. "Just about the most sentient wish out there," she turned back toward the bar and collected the drink that had appeared there from the tender recently. With a little raise of the cup, "To you finding whatever it is you want to, and need to, find out here in this galaxy. Everyone's got their place waiting for them, eh?" she smiled, and then drank.
