Imperial Mixer [Day 8, LE, Event]
Event Type: Personal
Participants: All
Timeslot: Late Evening
What's been on the wire for many of those with higher levels of status was a mixer that Saph has been organizing for some time. With the guest list there are important individuals of all types attending: Imperials, CEO's, Government leaders from surrounding planets, and even mixed within some high ranking members of various criminal organizations. One of the names on the invitation list is Mara Kayde, who is invited due to her family's name and wealth despite most of the Kayde's being in Imperial custody. Using this invitation Mylar has duplicated the code that will be scanned for upon entry to the event and passed it out among the members of the resistance.
Their goal is to get inside the event, and learn anything and everything they can from what the people here might let slip. It's risky, and not likely to pay off, but Mara and her people are hoping to grasp onto all of the information that they can. Of course.. there's always other opportunities too.
Event:
[Who You Know:] Step One
Roll one or all of the following Knowledge Checks at Average Difficulty.
[*]Knowledge: Core Worlds will allow you to find an Imperial or dignitary from the Core Worlds.
[*]Knowledge: Outer Rim will allow you to find an Imperial or dignitary from the Outer Rim.
[*]Knowledge: Underworld will allow you to find someone from one of the galaxies criminal organizations, limited to those interested in Bellionas.
Basic Success allows a character to choose an Organization from which to find an individual to chat with.
1+ Success grants up to a low-tier ranked individual at random.
3+ Success' grant up to a Mid-tier ranked individual at random.
5+ Success' grant up to a High-tier ranked individual at random.
7+ Success' grant a chosen individual from a chosen organization, this cannot choose Dr. Novar.
Short list of Organization Types:
Military- Soldiers.
Military- Officers.
Imperial- Scientists.
Imperial- Technicians.
Criminal- Hutt Cartel.
Criminal- Crimson Dawn.
Noblemen.
[What You Know:] Step Two
Select an organization type from above and then select the corresponding skill below, if you failed the previous step select a skill at random.
These rolls will be made at a difficulty chosen by the roller. Note: This choice affects Step Three, so choose wisely.
Military:
Knowledge: Warfare
Any Combat Skill
Imperial/Nobleman:
Knowledge: Lore
Knowledge: Education
Mechanics
Medicine
Astrogation
Criminal:
Streetwise
Skulduggery
Perception
Computers
[Why Should They Know You:] Step Three
These checks are made at a difficulty corresponding to 5 - the difficulty dice of the previous difficulty.
If you failed Step 1, this check is always Hard with Two Setbacks.
(Ex: Roll Hard on Step 2, Roll Average on Step 3)
Military:
Cool check to maintain composure among these threatening and powerful individuals.
Imperial/Nobleman:
Charm check to deliver remarks and conduct oneself in a way to be memorable.
Criminal:
Deception to play it mysterious, show them you're one of them by telling them everything and yet nothing at all.
Risky Optional Route:
Dr. Novar is a ridiculously guarded woman, but she's also not much for alcohol outside of social occassions. There is a slim opportunity to impress her enough here to get her talking, good luck.
Dr. Novar's rolls are always 2eC + 2eD + 2eS at base.
[Special Notice: Lassa can make an attempt at this with a base of 2eC + 1eD given her previous association.]
Dr. Novar can be attempted by anyone, no need to roll for Step 1.
Knowledge: Xenology can be used to impress her with your understanding of one of her areas of great research.
Charm will help seal the deal in insuring she wants to keep you around long enough.
Results of these interactions will be posted in your PF sometime at Dayflip or over the course of Day 9.

Re: Imperial Mixer [Day 8, LE, Event]
Dhel circulates through the party, but this just isn't her crowd and it's tough to find someone actually useful to charm information out of.
But she garners a *lot* of attention in the process, not all of it good.

Lassa had been spending time looking over the research of her boss in the past few days. She knew this opportunity would arrive... and that it would be her chance to try and draw out a bit more from Dr. Novar if she could keep her entertained and lubricated.
She seemed to be able to follow along with the jokes tossed around by the specialists showing poise despite a relative lack of expertise.
Lassa was always charming when she needed to be... and tonight was no different.

Re: Imperial Mixer [Day 8, LE, Event]
Raven had debated heavily on whether or not she should go. In the end, someone had talked her into it and those someone had assisted with dressing her up. Sure she had that fancy suit to wear, now even with a pretty pin to attach to the vest. The hair and makeup could not be credited to her at all, but it certainly did the trick in making her look like she belong.
I feel so naked without my armor.
Somehow she managed to navigate the different people present. The past year spent searching and investigating seemed to have paid off in reading the room a little (though there would be some unwanted attention during the event [Despair]), and she managed to hit it off with some random nobles from a Core world. They probably had expected such a lean and muscular woman to bore them with details of war or weaponry, but on the contrary, she managed to apply every little lesson she had learned about field medicine to keep herself in the conversation.
Having spent the past few weeks back at the Enclave, with her husband, had certainly paid off, as she was more relaxed and at ease, allowing her to joke and be charming.

Phroth brought out the gruff demeanor of Tranq Sayzin, lethal bounty hunter, to help infiltrate the mixer. He felt uncomfortable in the formal wear, surrounded by Imperials. The urge to snack on a sycophant was strong.
Over the course of the party, he found himself conversing with a young enlisted being, a grunt really. They got to talking about longe range hunting and effectiveness of weapons.
While he didn't particularly think he was well suited, Phroth did what he could for the resistance.

Re: Imperial Mixer [Day 8, LE, Event]
Why was she here? This was a bad idea. Especially with how she was talking to nobles? Was that right? She had no idea who any of these people were. But if they were nobles, that was doubly bad.
And why wasn't she using the force to guide her way through this? Oh right, because who knew what sort of people were mixed into this bunch. No, best keep those abilities under wraps then.
So, she had no idea who she was talking to. But somehow her poorly educated self managed to remember something she read in some science journal or something once and got stuck in a conversation.
And then she ruined it.

Sholua had successfuly cornered an Imperial Astrogation Tech, who was at his first ever big party like this and rather overwhelmed that the pretty Mirialan girl actually knew that the latest hyperspace calculator chips out of Sienar Systems were going to be absolutely fabulous. He was a bit concerned that she was calling him 'Dimples' rather than Ensign Stark but by the time she steered him into a dark corner of the place it didn't matter anymore . . .

Re: Imperial Mixer [Day 8, LE, Event]
It was a heck of a party at the Sapphire Lounge. Maggie had been right, Saph was really putting on a show here and everyone who was anyone was here. He wondered if Saph would have let him in anyway given their Grand old situation...
Somewhat to his own surprise Tens found it really easy to mingle. Maybe it was the old detective inspector Good Cop vibe that he was laying on thick? Those same instincts drew him towards the criminal elements in the room.
It wasn't long before he was deep in conversation with a minor player for the Hutt Cartel. Although Tens didn't do a great job of persuading the rep that he was worth a lot of time, his target at least seemed convinced he was a legit player. During the conversation his target let something really big slip, but would it be useful to the Resistance?

Tonight, she was not Varina Ordo. Instead, she was legendary outlaw (but not actually an outlaw) Anvari Doro. Wait, no, she was a mercenary! Yes, a mercenary, who'd recently been injured in a job that she definitely couldn't reveal the details about due to always keeping her mouth shut during a deal.
She hated wearing suits but did so for the night. It definitely didn't fit her but that was because the pants had to be loose due to her leg! Not because she stole it at the laundry mat, no, nope, never. And the loose jacket was to show how she always had a trick up her sleeve!
The biggest problem? Anvari Doro didn't ask questions so often that she didn't actually know anybody at the party. Instead, her talk of the night was about how good of a lookout she was... maybe her eyes had gotten hurt in that fight too.

Re: Imperial Mixer [Day 8, LE, Event]
Zim was not too sure about this event. She was a social person, indeed - but usually not this type of social. That... and she had tried to keep out of the way of Imperials for the last year at least, so coming to this party was... not exactly what her instincts suggested she should do.
Still, she knew it could prove important for the Bellionassians... so she put on her best clothes and showed up.
Not really knowing anyone around - except for those who she'd rather *not* show too close of an acquaintance here - she drifted through the party, getting drinks sparingly and trying to move around to see if she could at least overhear something...
...and then she bumped into someone. The Mikkian apologised and tried to follow the conversation in the circle the woman she bumped into had been in for a while. It apparently dealt mainly with military tactics during the Clone Wars, and the lady in question sometimes brought some details that reminded her of the Imperial presence in and near Bakura and their tactics to control any sort of resistance movements there... but she didn't quite know what to say about the topic without giving out information that call undue attention to her, so she mostly kept silent. Silent enough, she hoped...
At least, with some focus, she managed to keep her composure appropriately enough. She was reasonably sure they wouldn't notice anything weird. Reasonably...

D8 LE - Imperial Mixer - Step 3 vs Random Military. Cool vs Hard + 2 Setback. Intense Focus...: 2eP+1eA+3eD+2eS 2 successes, 3 threat

Ok, so 1 Triumph without success for finding a Core Worlds person, 2 successes at the Cool check to keep composure, and a bunch of Threats.
I'm slightly afraid...
EDIT: Adding 3rd roll as I hadn't got things right the first time

This was not, under any circumstance, Deonis' scene in any way shape or form. However the Resistance had given him much and he would do what he could to return the favor.
A high class party would be no place for full armor and besides an inquisitor had already visited his home it wasn't as if he was really hiding anymore. So Deonis arrived in a nice, if slightly too tight, suit. The tightness made it look lower Class but also accented his heavily muscled frame. It was quality enough to get him in but was not classy enough to avoid snickers behind glasses and looks of amusement from the true elite at the brute playing at being in high society.
Deonis looked for military personnel as they would be the only that might appreciate his gruff manner and skill set. None from the core sparked any recognition but he eventually ended up in conversation with an enlisted officer stationed in the rim. Talk turned to hand to hand combat and Deonis looking to impress went a little harder than necessary during the demonstration knocking over a man sized pot about to crush the sergeant before Deonis caught it with one hand. Under the pressure of the scene he made Deo made a slightly hasty retreat to another area of the party.

Re: Imperial Mixer [Day 8, LE, Event]
This event was all sorts of awkward, a social gathering with the society's elite (some were Imperials) and there wasn't going to be any sort of shooting. Soleene was tempted to wrangle some excuse where she could roam around with her armour and hang out casually like it wasn't strange at all to be speaking to an armed Mandalorian.
At the very least, she managed to drag what might have been a Zeltron proxy to the event at the very least. The Zeltron was dressed in what likely would be considered to be conservative formal wear on Zeltros, a 'summer' pastel yellow suit with shorts. The short pockets weren't enough to sneak in a weapon but they were enough to stuff her hands into and look cool from the sidelines, people watch as they did their schmoozing.
The Zeltron would fumble her way to the who's who of society and find herself among military types where she would share her knowledge of throat punches and armbars. She sounded pretty geeky doing so and the military types brushed her aside as someone would have watched one too many mixed Zavat or wannabe Teräs Käsi tournaments on the holonet. If anything, she was probably lectured back on how to actually fight hand to hand like a real combatant. She managed to keep her composure with a heavy dose of smiling and nodding.
"Aw, gee, it's like you're really good at this! Excuse me, I need a drink..."

Korvin tried to simultaneously keep his thoughts clear in the wash of emotional energy in this place and think how someone with more skill, like his sister, would work out the right target and the right things to say.
As it happened, the poor young Pantoran wore himself out trying to find the right targets, so by the time he tried to talk to that imperial junior lieutenant about the quality of future firearms for the Imperial Army... It wasn't great. And Korvin tried to save it with his usually unflappable demeanor, but, well, the bothered lieutenant told him to go get something stronger to drink and try not doing business at a party.

Re: Imperial Mixer [Day 8, LE, Event]
After the race, Qar got some reasons to get an idea of how the halls of power worked on this planet, especially how his sponsors figured in the larger picture, and it seemed like an opportunity. He could actually dress up if he wanted, though in his own personal style, all-leather suit. He could alll actually pull off some rogue charm in it, compensating for toying with the dress code baselines, even without riding his bike into the party. Which he had been thinking about humorously as a way to deal with any possible uncertainty whether to go into this vipers' nest. There were reasons he'd avoided such circumstances on other planets, but perhaps this one time would be harmless?
The first exposure, however, was that of being overwhelmed. Not because he hadn't seen high-ranking Imperials before, they were just looking all the same to him. He could he tell someone from Kuat from someone from Coruscant? They were all human-dominated, so they were all the same to him, in the Outer Rim there was much more easily graspable diversity.
LE8. Core Worlds, huh? GM Upgrade Goes Here.: 2eA+1eC+1eD 0 successes, 1 threat
Or so he thought; he apparently hadn't been catching up with the changes. What worlds the Empire had already pulverised into its own image? He couldn't tell which near-humans were acceptable within their race policies and which had already been displaced, or worse. It was hard to get a sense of importance without such basic understandings.
LE8. Outer Rim?: 2eA+2eD 0 successes
So, he could at least tell a shady type from an office-holder? No such luck. It was either criminals were good at cultivating their fronts, or the Imperials all looked like criminals to him. A bit of column A and a bit of column B, probably. He was none the wiser though.
LE8. Underworld?: 2eA+2eD 0 successes, 1 advantage
Still, he followed his gut feeling, and that brought him into a seedy company. It could even be a opportunist, trying to lift golden watches? He noticed some telltale mannerisms that betrayed general craftiness and high manual skills. Though perhaps like spotted like.
LE8. What Criminal Skill?: 1d4 2
LE8. Step Two: Who's That? Skulduggery. Hard.: 1eP+2eA+3eD 3 successes, 2 threat
The conversation was a bit artificial as the woman wasn't exactly comfortable being spotted for who she was, but for all purposes it could come to be seen as a casual, inconsequential flirt. However, Qar felt he'd learned something by the end of it, so it wasn't all lost effort.

Aanli rocked up to the party dressed to the nines. Current imperial fashion skewed toward stark black and white, so the little black dress was in, paired with a sleek white jacket. And a tiny pair of gold-rim glasses so you know she's smart.

Re: Imperial Mixer [Day 8, LE, Event]
After her morning, There was a lot on Nelk's mind. Hoping this evening would bring a bit of entertainment, she'd attend the evening event in efforts of dropping some eaves. She wore an elegant green sequence dress and was looking exceptional.
As Nelk began to mingle, she noticed an Imperial Scientist at the bar and went over to talk to him. She ordered herself a fancy cocktail and began schmoozing. The scientist seemed to be pleased to speak with Nelk.
D8, LE event Who You Know Knowledge Core Worlds Average Difficulty: 2eA+2eD 1 success, 1 advantage
Nelk was hoping to find someone from the outer worlds, but all she could see were imperials and nobels.
D8, LE event Who You Know Knowledge Outer Rim Average Difficulty: 2eA+2eD 0 successes, 1 advantage
Looking for a criminal, Nelk got distracted when she saw Qar flirting with another woman. Her eyes narrowed.
D8, LE event Who You Know Knowledge Underworld Average Difficulty, GM Destiny: 2eA+2eD 1 failure, 1 advantage
(misread the rules and so I made a skullduggery role that you can ignore.)
D8 LE Event, step 2, Average Difficulty, (Medicine) (Intellect) GM Destiny: 2eP+2eD+1eC 1 failure
Nelk continued her conversation with the Imperial scientist, and did a little flirting of her own, but he did notice she kept looking over at Qar. She wasn't really paying attention to him at this point, being understandably distracted.
(Should be Average Difficulty so minus one threat) D8 EVENT LE: Imperial Mixer. Step 3 (Noble). Charm (Presence). Hard Difficulty: 3eA+3eD 1 success, 1 threat

"Excuse me," Nelk said as the scientist was mid sentence, and walked over to Qar after he finished talking with the woman. "Hello Qar, who was that, hmm?" A tinge of jealousy in her voice.
