A Taste of Home [EA|D1|Calypso's]

[Jaxom Ursae]

There was a lot that Jax had missed about Bellionas, things he dreamed about seeing and doing again. Near the top of that list was Calypso's. Even when he lived here, coming to the dinner felt like coming home.

He sat at the counter, like he used to with his father. He ordered a plate of bantha sliders and fries and a milkshake.

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Mind a little company?" Jyrvess had approached the counter nonchalantly and turned her attention to the menu. For her the place was mostly new, she had only been on planet for a few days prior to this trip. Once while on the run and the second time entirely inside the enclave on planet.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Not at all." he gestured to the space beside him. "There's nothing on that menu that isn't good, unless something has changed."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"First time here," She replied, "Can I trouble you for recommendations?" Jyrvess took the seat next to him and leaned onto the counter, "Since you seem familiar with the place."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"I'm refamiliarizing myself with it, actually. I've been away for a while." he explained. "The sliders are good, or just a nice big burger, if you enjoy that sort of thing. There's a shaak stew or rootleaf soup, if you'd prefer. Or, the ronto wrap."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Ah, the ronto wrap sounds nice." Jyrvess put in her order, "Old stomping grounds then?" She asks after the wait staff wanders further down the counter. "If so...I'd imagine the place is a bit more crowded then you remember." Her tone suggested a wider meaning then just the number of customers in the place.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"A bit." he nodded. "It was getting pretty crowded when I left. But, it's nice to be back."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"It's more or less my first time here," Jyrvess leaned back, "Any advice for a tourist?" She smirked a little at that.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Well, I don't think Bellionas has much for tourists, but Restaurant Alley is a good place to start." he smiled. "The Upper City folks may disagree, but you'll find the best food on the planet down here. Beyond that, most things of interest are up there, like the museum or the casino."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Worked for a library once, might visit the museum sometime," Jyrvess shrugged, "Casino isn't really my style. Also...Corellian born, so I suspect the one you are talking about is going to irritate me with a lot of fake core worlds stylings."

"I see on the food...but then again my own limited experience with people leaving in an upper city would probably have told me that. I assume its the type of people who think the cost is more important then the taste?" She chuckles slightly.

[Jaxom Ursae]

He nodded. "The type that turn their nose up at the idea of a bantha burger, unless you tell them it was a pure bred Alderaanian bantha, hand fed only the best grains from the Fruited Moon of Hetzal."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Hah, oh they will...just not publicly and will deny it to any that ask." Jyrvess smirked, "My father used to run in those circles on occasion. He was a senior military man, high enough that the local 'worthies' would invite him to their parties to make the guest list look better."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"My father wasn't quite that important. But, he was important enough for a few upper city banquets." He shook his head. "I hated going to them."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"So did I, not that I went to many." Jyrvess snorted, "Father loathed them, which is why I rarely had to go, but duty compelled him."

"Find it unnerving to be in a room with a bunch of smiling friendly faces that were all just masks?" She quirked an eyebrow. "That was the worst bit for me."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"The only mask I noticed was my father's. I knew he hated it all, but he smiled and laughed at the right moments." he frowned. "He was good at hiding things."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"I suppose most parents...well adults in general really...are." She smiled wearily, "Been back on planet long?"

[Jaxom Ursae]

"Two... three hours?"

He'd wandered around for a while after leaving the spaceport.

"I still have to find a place to stay. But, Calypso's had to come first."

Their meals were set before them and he eagerly snatched up a fry and popped it in his mouth.

"Just like I remembered."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Ah, took the ferry then." Jyrvess nodded and took a bite of her own food, she blinked then took another, "Huh...it is good. Real good."

"Got any remaining family on planet? Might be able to put in with one of them." She asks taking another bite.

[Jaxom Ursae]

"It's best that I stay away from anyone I used to know. For now, at least." he responded after finishing a slider. ""Things here were a bit volatile when I left. I'm not sure how things are now."

[Jyrvess Ertil]

"Reminds me of Kamda." Jyrvess responds, "I suspect every off-worlder is under suspicion for now. Best to not bring trouble to your loved ones then."
