"Nope!" Manny shook his head. "I mean, if I was doing a full show or something, I'd have a tip jar set out, but I'm not gonna charge someone just to show'em a little magic!"

Still with one hand, he fanned the cards, offering them to her. "So, whattaya say? Pick one?"

[Tyllia Demici]

"Alright," she said, looking at him with a certain skeptical indulgance. She then picked a card.

[Manny Donos]

"Okay!" He turned away. "Now, look at it, show it to the audience. Errr, I mean, to someone else. But don't show it to me!"

[Tyllia Demici]

She rolled her eyes, then flipped the card over so someone else could see. The droid seemed like the most obvious suspect, unless it was in on it. The card was Endurance. She flipped it around again, hiding it from everyone.

"Now what?"

[Manny Donos]

He turned back, still smiling. "Now, you hand the card back to me."

This was the part where he'd appear to shuffle it back in, but would actually slip it into his sleeve. A quick move, and it would be done...

''One has to wonder!'' the Toboga replied with a chuckle...despite not quite understanding what she had meant by that

''I was not aware other mandalorians were involved in this...if so it must be quite promising.'' he extended a hand a he spoke ''J-Richo of Clan Toboga''

"It's surprising that I'm the first other Mandalorian you've seen around here. Lots, to say the least, and not exactly small league warriors either."

Soleene gave a glance at his hand with a moment of hesitation, there was no reason to suspect a Toboga, right? She then took the hand in a firm grasp. "Soleene, just Soleene for now. And what brings you here then? You were here the entire time?"

[Tyllia Demici]

"Sure thing," she said, handing him the card back.

She was pretty sure there was going to be some sort of trick. And this guy was trying to be way slicker than he could probably pull off, so she decided to make things a little *entertaining*. A lesson in humility even, perhaps. Harmless fun. As a card magician he no doubt had his way of illusions...

...but so did she.

Indeed, she could see the trick he was pulling; honestly a lot better than she was thinking he'd be. Credit where credit was due. But not good enough to fool her. Not that it mattered much...

...because when he pulled her card back out again... it was the one card in his deck that he knew wasn't actually there...

(Tyllia uses 1 dark pip to activate misdirect to alter the appearance of the card: Manny (and only Manny) sees that her card is the Idiot. Thanks to all that Threat, he instantly realizes something is like, super off, scoobs!)

[Manny Donos]

Smiling, Manny tucked the card into his sleeve, skillfully enough that almost no one could see it.

"Hmmm..." He said, shuffling the cards. "Is it this one? No, that doesn't feel right. Hmmm... where is it?" He 'searched' fruitlessly, going through the cards.

Sighing, only smiling a little, Manny shook his head. "I guess I can't find it. Shoot!" He snapped the fingers of his other hand... which also propelled the card into Tyllia's hands. Manny smirked...

And then suddenly frowned as he saw the card.

After a few moments, he looked back up at her. "Oh, I see. You're a magician too, huh?" He scowled. "I mean, that's cool and all, but you shouldn't mix your own illusions up in someone else's. Magician's code and all, you know?"

[Tyllia Demici]

Tyllia turned the card over in her hand and looked back up at him scowling. A magician, huh. She supposed that was a way of describing it; although she suspected they had different definitions of the word.

She then turned the card back over for him to see. It was the Endurance card now. Even though she clearly hadn't done any sort of fast-fingered trickery. Had she?

"I don't know what you're talking about," she said, an amused little smile on her lips. "This is my card alright," she held it out for him to take back. "Very impressive." She leaned in a little and whispered. "Even if I did see which sleeve it went up"

[J-Richo Toboga]

"It's surprising that I'm the first other Mandalorian you've seen around here. Lots, to say the least, and not exactly small league warriors either."

Soleene gave a glance at his hand with a moment of hesitation, there was no reason to suspect a Toboga, right? She then took the hand in a firm grasp. "Soleene, just Soleene for now. And what brings you here then? You were here the entire time?"

''Well met Soleene!'' his grip was vigorous, to say the least ''There are other mandalorians here you say? That is quite interesting!''

His body language might have been off a bit but his voice seemed to express genuine surprise and excitement

''I have not met another mandalorian for a long while. As for where I was...well...I have been stranded on a volcanic planet for a while after a hunt turned sour. I only managed to get back in civilized space recently before having to honor a debt to Nerra in the name a a brother.''

[Manny Donos]

"I don't know what you're talking about," she said, an amused little smile on her lips. "This is my card alright," she held it out for him to take back. "Very impressive." She leaned in a little and whispered. "Even if I did see which sleeve it went up"

Reaching out, Manny took the card. Then he looked at the card. Then back at her. Then at the card. Her. This time he looked at the deck. Her. The card. The robot. Her again.

"... wait, what?" He asked.

She stood there silently for a few moments, watching his eyes dart all over the place

"...what?" She finally asked, in response to his own 'what?'

"Something wrong?"

[Mara Kayde]

Mara, glancing between all those present here, took a long moment to inhale and then exhale slowly. She started to say something but stopped when she realized she was getting ahead of herself, having not even called for attention as the others were distracted with other things. Placing a hand on her shoulder Sera came up behind her and offered a brief smile. With Sera's help, she called everyones attention for a moment.

"Thank you, everyone, for coming to help the people of Bellionas. While I still don't fully know what all of your skills are, or what we will need to ask of you all by the time we're done, I am glad that you have all arrived and offered your time and help for the people of Bellionas. What we aim to do here is to give the people of our planet hope again. It won't be easy.. but I believe the first step in this is to get people talking again, make sure the people are aware of whats going on."

"Which is why I have asked you all here. Our first goal is to set up an old printing press nearby that has the generators and connections available for us to set up a radio. Something that will allow us to communicate with the people of Bellionas without the interference of the Empire. With the help of Mylar," she gives a look toward him, who is currently sitting at a small terminal, "we have gathered the components we'll need but there's still a lot of work to be done in setting up for this endeavor. Rubble needs to be removed, machines need to be fixed and put together, and connections need to be made. We also will need to ask for the aid of many of you who might know some tricks in keeping a careful watch and making sure the Empire doesn't catch on too early."

"Once we've set up, gotten people listening.. then we can start opening up peoples eyes to the truth of what conditions are like for everyone here on Bellionas."

The droid beeped in support for this idea, its many arms swaying absently.

J-Richo nodded silently at the leader's words, waiting to see if there is more before speaking

The droid beeped in the negative.

This unit brought a gift for the party in honor of the new baby-class human's successful development and biological functions. It was informed that not all parties required presents. This necessitated some schematic updates.

The panel begins to slide open.

This unit considered that it was unlikely that this gathering qualified as a party, and was alarmed to discover that some guests have brought presents of nutrition. This unit's present, which it has retained in case a party should develop, is not nutritious. This unit suspects that some breach of social contract has occurred.

A two-toned beep followed, the first beep much higher than the second.

Dhel'd let Petra drag her here with the promise of new faces to scope out. Plus she was willing to listen...ok, she put with...Dhel telling her all about the bike ride Petra'd missed out on the other night. Thus far the crowd wasn't looking all that promising for her purposes...but there *were* free cookies and she was pretty hungry after a skipped lunch. And then...

"Huh, pardon...did you say you had a gift that needs a home?" She asks quietly, around the discussion of do-gooding to do. It wasn't hard to be a bit hidden away next to the six foot tall droid. "Name's Dhel, didn't catch yours."

She adds an approving-looking nod to Mara's words, to match that of the rest of the crowd. Even if she has only the scarcest idea of what's being discussed. Petra will fill her in better later.

3) The room approaches occupancy,

yet few seem to wear the outward signs of happiness social sapients tend to display at such events. The roof, for example, remains un-raised. Few, if any, sapients are currently inebriated. The signals are decidedly mixed.

"Woooooooooooo!" Manny cheered as Mara finished her speech. It was always important to support whoever had a performance going. "I'm a magician!" There, and now she knew what his skills were.

She stood there silently for a few moments, watching his eyes dart all over the place

"...what?" She finally asked, in response to his own 'what?'

"Something wrong?"

He frowned at the card one last time then looked at her. "Oh, I see. Good one!" He flashed her a grin. "You'll have to show me that one sometime. Until then..." He pointed at his eyes with two fingers, and then at her with one.

... he had no idea what had just happened.

"It's a meeting more than a party, honestly. But what's the gift? Might be I could point you at a better party for it. Definitely one with more inebriation." She keeps her voice low since she's pretty sure that whatever work they're planning won't really be a gift-giving sort of party either.

She pauses, looking over the loud musician...no he said magician. That was actually significantly less interesting, honestly. "Though...I think that fellow might be doing some roof-raising...even if it isn't a party, eh?"

She nodded, indulging Manny's theatrics. He was either a fool, or very good at playing one. Not to be underestimated either way.

The little speech she just listened to. This whole organization was sounding to be even more ragtag and makeshift than she'd been led to believe. She hadn't yet decided if that was to be a good thing or not. Getting in on the groundfloor had potential, but only if it didn't collapse the moment you put your foot down on it.
