"Look," she said, turning a bit on the couch and bringing her knee up to lay her leg across it and focus more on Korvin. "You're here, so that's good. Means you're more like Mara than your parents or whatever," she waved it off with her hand. "Never seen this better Bellionas myself but the way Mara talks about the way her parents talked about it, sounds pretty neat," she shrugs.Korvin Hikarrin wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 3:00 amKorvin is clearly crestfallen, though it's not entirely clear whether it's the lack of enthusiasm at seeing him, the appraisal as some spoiled rich kid, or both. With an effort, he musters up an attitude of "too cool" equanimity. "Gee, thanks," he says sarcastically, taking the not-exactly-offered seat.
He's quiet, seemingly brooding for a minute, before abruptly turning to her and responding, "When it comes to my bike, that is 100 percent my money, alright? Just because my parents have some money doesn't make me rich or anything. I earned that bike, and I earned my wins, my reputation..." His voice tapers off and he starts to cool down, showing some embarrassment. "I mean, um, yeah, I want to help. Like, I've heard things used to be better. So, we should be able to make them better again."
"But- one thing you definitely need to realize," she chuckles at the thought, "is that people like you? Rich kid people? They're the only ones concerned with what they earned or what they didn't like you are, yea? So, it kinda does make you rich or.. anything. Just don't.. worry about it," she thinks on that last statement a moment. The way her brow curls a bit conveys a sort of confusion about the way the thought turned but she just let it settle without correction.
