Deonis Confronts the Darkness [D5, MM, Closed]

[Meiyokashi]

Confusion.

Power, control, strength, direction, Deonis focuses inward in the meditative practice to which he was accustomed. Opening himself to the force he feels the immediate chill on the air as the surrounding swamps energies connected with his own. Animosity plagued this place as beings both predacious and otherwise were tainted with a malice not their own. This feeling was overwhelming and.. strangely inviting. It willed him to dip deeper into it's pools and soak within the madness.

Deonis' consciousness came to within a void, a space of black where nothing other than him seemed to exist.

His species was attuned to the force, the dark side and was adept at resisting its pull to madness. His own training on top of that and his increasing connection to this place he maintained his calm, he fought against the utter madness that clawed at him, inviting him deeper but he remained open to understanding to feel that madness, that chaos, without being consumed by it.

Not sure if I can use the force pips if so will use the dark side to eliminate the threat and generate an advantage to gain a deeper understanding of this place.

[Meiyokashi]

A Darkness swelled, coalesced, and assaulted him as it rushes and breaks against his will. Parting in all directions around him the darkness dissipates with a roaring cry. Yet he can feel the chill against his skin as it lingered all around him. Time went on without pause and it felt like a small eternity before he was faced with a change in the atmosphere of this place.

A being coalesced in front of him once more. This time it held a nondescript and vaguely humanoid appearance. This being looked to him without eyes but was piercing in it's gaze. Animosity toward him emanating from the being as it stood there and observed.

Deonis looked back his Gaze unwavering "are you the being we encountered on our first day here? What do you want with us? With me?" In here he had not helmet his burning yellow eyes piercing into the being.

He paused his eyes looking deep into the eyelets form concentrating piercing it "You know what I want from you. I seek understanding. Through understanding the power to crush those that have wronged me and the galaxy."

Meaningless... the voice wasn't heard so much as felt, heavy and dark. A pressure felt at the back of the mind.

Power.

Power I understand.

I want to be free.

"What holds you?" he spoke calmly as he felt the voice move through his mind.

Death..

As the word takes hold so too does the form in front of him shift. What was once nondescript takes on a new form, color coming to it but dimmed like she was gray-scaled. Eyes closed she felt about, feeling her sides and then bringing her hands up in front of herself. Opening her eyes Tyllia revealed black pupils which looked down into the space between her hands. There the darkness coalesced into the shape of the hilt of a lightsaber.

"You're in my way," she says, darkness chilling him through the sound of her voice.

Whipping it out to the side the lightsaber ignited with the distinct snap-hiss.

Deonis steeled himself for the encounter, a fight was something he knew. This force, this being, this thing sought to stand between him and his goal and he could not let that happen. Whatever this thing was he doubted its intentions were good and while the resistance might not need him but he felt he needed to be there for the resistance.

A myriad of thoughts swirled through his mind as his will coalesced into a weapon. One he knew, he had forgotten much but the basics he still remembered. he gripped the sleek metal firmly in his hand the crimson glow of the blade matching his skin. Anger, defiance, drive these burned through him as the weapon formed but also a desire to protect, to see his mission to destroy the Empire that had destroyed his childhood. All of these raced through his mind as the weapon materialized.

Deonis steels himself for the encounter to come dipping into his stance and ready for the conflict to come. His burning yellow eyes flare with a malevolent power of their own daring the creature to attack him.

Without sound the being launched itself forward, Tyllia acting with a devastating slash but catching the stare in Deonis' eyes the creature recoiled slightly. As it did the nondescript being seems to appear surrounding Tyllia's form before shifting back into her. Stepping back from the attack Shadow-Tyllia began to pace around him watching for the next move.

Deonis' massive form moved a bit more easily than one would think shifting to the side to dodge the blow when the shadow hesitated.

He charged her furiously his own shadowsaber finding its mark driven by a terrible strength enhanced by the force. "I came for answers!" He growled as the blade slashed into the shadowed form.

His blade cut deep through the apparition, the shadow parting where the blade cut and reforming around it on the other side. As the blade struck it recoiled in a thousand images of pain, Tyllia's face contorting in ways that could only inspire pity. However it reformed quickly into this instant, a looming being looking down on him, "Answers? Here? You're as foolish as I ever was!" when the entity spoke it sounded like Tyllia but horribly distorted and monstrous. Eternal rage seeping out from it's very being.

Surging forward the entity moved without sound, the very air around him roiling with rage as the blade struck deep into his chest. Feeling the burning rage as it emanated from the blade which quickly turned into an intense cold in his very being.

Retracting the blade from his body it leaves no visible wound. Dissipating into shadow the entity reappears some distance away, watching him from afar.

Deonis grimaced at the strange feeling watching the blade disappear in his hands he powered down his own Saber "foolish maybe. You are not the darkside. another poor twisted soul, trapped. Powerful in the Force maybe. Do we have to fight?" He asked taking a few steps away. If they were to fight the figure would have to be the Aggressor.

Once more the figure dissipates and then appears much closer to him. "You pose a risk I cannot afford.." she says, her dark pupils bearing down into him.

Deonis sighs as the creature approaches "Why? because you cannot control me? I came here seeking to understand. Not to fight." he asks dancing back again out of reach. His breath was a bit ragged, he was keeping it talking for now but he would have to strike soon if he wished to stay standing

[Meiyokashi]

A truth that settled in as soon as he backed away to his limits, his back coming up against an invisible wall. All around him he couldn't see it but he felt the space that he existed within was closing around them. With one dissipating in a puff of smoke, and then another, the being walked out from a cloud of shadows that billowed until they vanished. Walking closer Shadow-Tyllia leaned in, tilting her head with a curiosity about him, "Yes," she said, that same unnatural voice.

"I tried to talk." he sighed again the blade igniting with a familiar snap hiss as he launched into his final assault do or die he was done being a tool, he was done being manipulated by others for their gain. He may fight but he fought because HE wanted to, he fought for what HE cared about, for what mattered to HIM. He was no longer someone else's weapon, he was his own man.

He roared but while it was tinged in anger it was not based in it, it was based in defiance, defiance of his past, defiance of ever being used again. He struck to bisect the creature in half top down both hands raised above his head and bringing it straight down.

As the entity brought the blade up to defend it was too slow- the shadow being being cut into two and parting, only to dissipate shortly after. Silence filled the voice of space where Deonis was for the briefest of moments before a loud guttural scream of rage threatened to shatter his eardrums, the sound coming from all around and then suddenly- silence.

Sounds of feet stepping, the swamp life around him brought him back to his senses...
