Day 5, Early early morning - The Hunter's Repose

[Torr Po]

Torr and Nelk had found a gig but it took them out of town for 2 weeks. Once they had gotten back the city had changed. Patrols were thicker, checkpoints more time consuming. At last they made it the Rebyk where they procured a twin room.

"Alright! 2000 creds worth of liquor here I come!" Torr threw his bag on the bed and started for the door.

[Nelk]

"Alright! 2000 creds worth of liquor here I come!" Torr threw his bag on the bed and started for the door.

"Torr, wait, do you think you should really rush off so quick and throw all your money into frothy gin? Maybe we should discuss our working relationship. What are you goals here? So far, you've been easy for me to trust, but I can't say exactly why." Nelk was examining the room while he talked, checking for hidden surveillance devices.

[Torr Po]

"What other goals do I need? Alcohol is all I desire in this life." He watched her search for a moment then laughed, "Also you only trust that I'm not a threat. Beyond this you do not trust me... this will change in time however. Of that I am sure."

[Nelk]

"What of your past are you running from, Farghoul? Do you drink to forget?"

[Torr Po]

Torr's eyes darken as the pain rushes back to his mind. The monastery in flames, the droids, the fighting. "Hmmmmm," Torr murmurs, "Is this truly the topic you wish to broach?" He sits on the bed with legs crossed and his tail wrapped around his waist. "I've walked this path for many years. But once I was a scholar and a monk. I studied scriptures, recited mantra, and engaged in the mystical pursuit of enlightenment. Then one day the clone wars came to New Farrfin, and my monastery went up in not so proverbial flame."

[Nelk]

"Ahh another cliché. Had purpose, lost everything, poor me." Nelk rolls her eyes, "so thats when you started drinking?" Nelk was satisfied with her search of the room and sat on her bed across from Torr. "Look, the galaxy is one big sob story. I caught wind of this rebellion thats starting and decided why not? What's the Empire ever done for me? Passing out those flyers is just my first step in rebellion; I want to weaken the Hutt control on the Underworld. Those fat slugs need to be brought down a peg or two." She stretched out and flopped on her bed, "don't you want retribution, justice?"

[Torr Po]

"Sob story?" Torr asked taken aback. "Don't misunderstand. I started drinking long before the droids came. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy, and it tastes yummy." Torr laughed out loud, "On that day my brothers all became one with their precious force. You might say they were promoted for their efforts. I'd raise a glass to them now if I had a drink." Torr doubled over laughing then deftly rolled to his feet. "Want to talk about cliché's let us start with the power hungry slave trader." Torr grinned menacingly, "I know your type, Nelk. I'd even collect whatever bounty hangs over you if I didn't feel that your ambition was in lockstep with the greater desires of the people of this place."

[Nelk]

“Please, if my motivations were power, I’d still be selling slaves. It’s amazing how easy it is to subjugate the weak willed.” Nelk stood up, uncomfortable being prone all of a sudden. “You mock the force yet you devoted your life to an order in reverence of it, you must have been weak willed yourself, doing what you’re told rather than living for yourself. If they hadn’t burned you’d still be clutching at tomes and reciting mantras about being one with the force or some such poodoo.” Nelk laughed.

[Torr Po]

"I was adopted into the life and left it as soon as I was able!" He snarled down his nose at her, "Deny it all you like but your power was taken from you and you're clutching at straws to get it back. And to keep true to the cliché you're bitterly looking a gift cat in the mouth." He sneered at her mockingly, "Angry little Nelk, who has to lean on a dirty old monk. Such power a slaver has, ensnared by profits. Weak and powerless before their own ambitions." He laughed out loud and turned for the door. "Let's make a deal. You keep being honest with me, and I'll insure that you do not choke on your ambitions. Hahaha!"

[Nelk]

“It seems we are not so different, you and I. You humor me, Torr.” Nelk shakes her head and chuckles a bit as she follows him out.
