She raised an eyebrow, trying to piece together what was going on. It wasn't... oh... no, probably not, right? But if it was...

Very obviously lost in thought, Raven slowly drank her caf with a look of parental concern on her face. "So, uh..." the words awkwardly paused as she didn't seem quite sure what to say at first. "... How was Praxton doing before you left? Silas told me you checked in on him while I've been gone."

"He's good-" she pours out the words quickly as she steps harder on one foot, having been turning to find someplace to sit but stopping dead in her tracks.

Swallowing down again to be sure, "He's strong enough to be back to making me give him status reports on everyone when I go to visit. Laid up and he's still worried about everyone else," she says with a brief chuckle.

"Still laid up though, the Twins have got him walking now and again. Gets to go outside again but.. we keep an eye on him just to be sure."

He must be hating that. Being stuck indoors most of the day, watched and cared for... her frown was pressed into a neutral thin line instead as she picked up her bowl of food, fingers drumming against the edge of it in an idle manner.

Finally she released a sigh. "That's good." She had been worried, and for a moment had feared the worst when she saw Dex again, thinking she was here to deliver bad news. Then when she hadn't, it became a matter of not pushing the issue, not wanting to seem too... unfocused on what she was supposed to be doing.

"Sounds like him alright, being worried about everyone else when he should be thinking of himself," Raven's chuckle was low, almost distant. Using the spoon, she pushed the food around a bit. "Thank you for looking after him for me."

"Yea, course," she says, a little uncertain as she stood there.

[Dredgen]

Which was exactly when Dredgen moved between them, brushing his shoulder against Raven with that grin waiting for her when she looked to him. A big man, big muscles, tank of an individual he looked through what was already set out and gathered himself something up. Glancing at it, taking a bite, "Not bad, I guess."

Her thoughts were faraway for the moment, wondering when they'd have the chance to at least make it back for a report on the progress... if they could make some progress.

Dredgen bumping into her snapped her out of her thoughts, and she gave him an indignant huff in return.

"Hey, you're free to cook if you think you can do better." He got a brief smirk before she moved the spoon atound to scoop up some of the food. "I'm just being a bit moody these days..." before she said anything else stupid Raven had a mouthfull of breakfast.

Dredgen turns to her, bowl in one hand and his other resting on her shoulder. Looking to her, finding her gaze he said, "You're doing fine," a small half-smile and then a slap on the shoulder.

"NOW, I'm gonna make a few corrections," he said, smiling broadly as he dug through some of the cupboards and found a spice bag he'd hidden away. Pulling it open he took a pinch and sprinkled it into his bowl. Taste testing it first before it got a nod from him. Turning to Raven he offered up a bit of the spice.

It's all going to be fine. I'm fine. We're fine. Stay focused... patience. He's doing fine. No longer in a tank, walking around, doing his part.

Corrections?? Chewing her food, she watched what Dredgen was up to. "Some people drink caf to wake up in the morning, you know. Not by burning out their sinuses."

Still, it was kind of like a challenge, so the offer of more spice was answered with a bowl extended to him. Had to see if it actually improved the food.

"Flavor, add a little life to it," he said with that big grin of his, dashing in just a pinch. Enough to waken the mouth, body, and mind but with that guiding hand in the flavor reminiscent of a decent morning meal. Warmth, but not too strong. Dredgen waited, and watched.

The first taste test got a small cough to start. A kick to the tastebuds and throat early in the morning. Not that she would let it stop there as she followed it up with a proper mouthful.

"It's good," she complimented, a little begrudgingly. "... medic, magician, and housewife. You keep surprising, brother."

Looking to the other two, Raven scooped up another spoonful. "You should get some too. Kicks up the flavor." And added to the statement by chowing down as she moved to sit down with her breakfast.

[Dredgen]

"First off-" he says, raising the index on the hand holding the spice. "Patchin' wounds, quick hands, knowin' to cook. Never met a hunter alive who couldn't use a few of those!" his grin grew large, and then he gave that glower that never seemed real to her but to the uninitiated did. "I'm not a house-anything. I hunt! I cook!" two big thumps of words.

"Gimmie some of that before you puff up too much big guy," Dex slides back in, bowl in hand and held up. With a wild grin shining proud and true.

Raven remembered the first weeks she spent with the Rebuilders. And the time she thought Dredgen was going to kill her. Sure, a lot of that had been the fears and paranoia she had lived with for years prior to meeting them that was doing the talking, but these days, she knew better than to be scared by him and his mannerisms.

"Sure thing, ba'buir," Raven retorted as she got comfortable in her seat with a smug grin on her face.

"Nalkahya gar stiaoe, rameta," he said in a grumpy way but smirked to show the teasing nature of it. With a wave of his hand the spice traveled over Dex's head as he walked over to Silas, offering the pup a dash. Dex quick to start yelling at him and the trio, for a moment, chuckling as Dex pushed her way in to try to get a dash of spice. Risky as it might be for most Dredgen wasn't built to be toppled by anyone- let alone Dex- and so he stood firm and held the spice way out of reach.

*Respect your elders, rookie.

Watching the scene, Raven laughed to herself, knowing Dredgen would eventually let her get the spice-mix.

Moments like these... it was oddly fulfilling, having missed out on it for so many years on her own. These bonds, they were important. Not only to her, but to the group at large.
