[Lassa Tenro]

Lassa had arrived at her place of work on time... much as she had done for each day in the past few weeks. She walked through security with her work belongings in her hands and walked with a brisk pace towards her desk.

There was another slate of normal tasks that the doctor required waiting for her and a laundry list of preparations that needed to be pressed forward...

Security was tight here, and as she'd come to learn the past couple of weeks was only getting tighter. With the unrest felt within the city streets the guard was doubled at first, and then tripled. When she walked through the main lobby there were never less than twenty troopers making their way through on patrol, and this was without counting the many who operated the security check in and those stationed on guard. However, she knew so long as she kept her head down she had all the credentials required to be present here.

Passing the checkpoint she is directed to follow an officer toward the elevators and isn't left alone until she's brought to the office outside of Dr. Novar's personal office, the one that was her own.

"Will you be needing anything?" he asked as he waited by the door, his tone perfunctory.

[Lassa Tenro]

She shook her head, “No. Thank you for your courteous escort.”

She opened the door to her work space and pulled out her datapad as she approached her desk...

[Meiyokashi]

"Excellent," the officer nods, and leaves her to the space alone for the time. Leaving her a bit of time alone, however brief it may be.

[Lassa Tenro]

She sat down at her seat and began to work as she did most days... And began making notes in her own mind like she was wont to do.

Next patrol will be here in 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...

She made note as shadows passed by the other side of the window leading into the hallway.

She perused through her terminal for information on people of interest to her employer, trying to continue to get a better grasp of exactly who did what on this planet and where Dr. Novar drew such influence... and perhaps for what purpose the doctor wished to wield this influence.

Lassa spent the next twenty or so minutes getting blocked out by basic security protocols that were designed poorly and with a bureaucracy to them that was common in the Empire and annoying to every being that was sentient. However, eventually she did get to the information she was seeking but.. the layout was absolutely atrocious to work with and figuring out the difference between names of people and places made the mind hurt a little trying to parse it.

Just when she was starting to maybe get a good sense of things the buzzer on her desk went off, causing her to startle a little due to her concentration.

"Lassa, dear, I have need of you," Novar's voice came from the speaker.

[Lassa Tenro]

“Be right in.” She replied as she stood up and walked briskly towards the doctor’s room.

Entering the officer Lassa is confronted with the sight that she's seem only once or twice in the few weeks she's been here, a private woman who often keeps to her own office and accepts few visitors there was rare chance for Lassa to step inside. It was an opulent room, one with many old statues and works of art from across the galaxy that were both hard to place and understand. Decoration for the grand space that was her office that Novar herself made little use of as her desk was tucked away into a nook just to the left of the entrance.

There Novar's desk, terminal, and what few documents that were not restricted material laying about. Novar currently was waiting for Lassa, however, by the large window that allowed the woman to look out over the city from the Spire. She didn't turn when Lassa entered and merely looked out over the city.

[Lassa Tenro]

“How can I be of service Dr. Novar?” Lassa asked.

[Dr. Fianna Novar]

There wasn't a response right away, but given the minute Novar turned to her. "Ah, Lassa dear. Excellent," she smiled, walking toward her desk the heels clacking against the hard surface, a sound that reverberated through the room.

"I have some business with some important officials this evening and need a few of my other appointments originally scheduled moved around. There was that.." she thought a moment, but couldn't recall. Passing off the lost thought with a wave, "well, you're aware I'm sure. When you inform them I cannot attend I would ask that you be sure to convey my deepest apologies, of course?" she says with a smile.

[Lassa Tenro]

She nodded, “Of course.”

And then after a few moments asked, “Is there anything I should prepare for your meeting with the officials this evening? Any special requests for your guests?”

[Dr. Fianna Novar]

"No.." she says, but turns to Lassa after a moment of distraction. "However, would you be a dear? Contact Moff Rosim and schedule a dinner for us in the coming weeks? I would wish to have a proper farewell before we part ways. Bellionas has treated me fairly in the years I have spent here.. it is almost a shame to leave it all behind."

[Lassa Tenro]

“Most certainly. The people will most certainly miss your leadership.” She replied to the request for the dinner arrangement.

“Will you be leaving soon? I take it that your research has made a breakthrough?” She commented in hopes of leading to further explanation.

[Dr. Fianna Novar]

"Regrettably.. the opposite, it has met a stone wall. Progress was proceeding apace but even my best test subject is currently proving less successful than originally hoped. The Empire feels we have spent enough fruitless attempts on this project. Yet- we must carry on, hmm? There is ever another avenue we might take to ensure the health and security of our Empire, hmm?" she looks to Lassa with an actually earnest smile, best she could tell.

[Lassa Tenro]

She nodded, "What greater purpose could there be?"

She then offered, "Most people unfortunately don't understand that progress always comes at a price. You have to be able to take the hits and make tough calls. I'm sure your work will find its way forward with you behind the project... no matter how the scenery may change."

[Dr. Fianna Novar]

"You are a refreshing breeze of understanding Lassa," she smiles, coming to her desk and sitting down she looks among her things briefly before looking back to Lassa. "I am fortunate that there are those in the galaxy who respect the need for progress. That the Empire is willing to accommodate my seeking for a better way. That the scenery must change for it.." she gives a wave of her hand, "is barely a concern, hmm?" she smiles and gives Lassa a nod.

"That will be all for today," she lingered looking to her, saying earnestly, "thank you,"

[Lassa Tenro]

“It is my pleasure Doctor. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you during this transitionary phase. I’m here to serve.”

She bowed her head politely and turned to leave...

Novar offered her a brief nod, a smile, and then watched until she turned to leave.
