He thought about that. "I'd say yes, but then I don't have any experience to measure it against. When I left the Army I got a regular job in law enforcement."

"Well, I would measure it against the laws of the Republic. If you lose rights as a soldier, wouldn't a procedure to get them back if you wanted exist? Hopefully in the form of a contract you signed before heading onto the front lines. I recognize I had no rights whatsoever, but I hope you weren't denied any as well."

Tenzing shrugged. "I don't remember signing anything, but no one kicked up a fuss when I left. Never felt like a second class citizen." It was a quiet night out in Middle City. Maybe everyone was getting an early night.
