"On the plus side I believe it makes you immune to some of its effects"

"Yes, but that means little when the other effects can kill you quick?"

[Solork Tan]

Sol regards the droid. "You're not wrong. But, in all fairness, the effects that would kill you quick would kill me just as fast." Sol's lips quirk. "The Force is not terribly strong with this one. With your Intel, I would not be shocked if you are deadlier than myself"

[The SCaT Droid]

"Intel is the difference between life and death on a battle field yes. But it doesn't matter how much Intel you have if you do not have the means to employ it? I doubt even if I had every detail of what the clones were used for and why they were commissioned 10 years before a 'surprise war', I still wouldn't be able to stop the evil mastermind alone."

[Solork Tan]

"Neither could I. That's what allies are for, no?"

[The SCaT Droid]

"And it is so good to have finally found some who have has much skin in this game as I. Metaphorically speaking, of course, I don't actually have organic tissues. It's saddening how many people choose their own lives over the chance to end the oppression of their future grandchildren."

[Solork Tan]

"I...can't say that future generations are likely a personal concern for me." Sol murmurs, a tad ruefully. "So I suppose it falls upon me to look out for every else's."

He nods. "I believe I have quite a few mechanical enhancements to put into the game as well Mister...I don't think I caught your name or shared my own. How terribly rude of me...I'm kind of kriffing awful at that stuff. Solork. Solork Tan."

[The SCaT Droid]

"My current name is SCaT, short for Search, Collect, and Transport. Now is that uncertainty of future generations an acknowledgement of the situation you are in, a personal choice, or a forbiddence from your master?" The droid leans in close with that last bit, almost like its trying to get a real good look at mr. Tan's eyes when he gives his response.

[Solork Tan]

"Hmmm. Catchy" Sol's lips twist into something of a whistful expression (though it's hard to tell with a narrow snout and looooots of teeth)

"I'm afraid it's more an acknowledgement. I have no pack, my Clan was wiped out root and stem by the Empire. The likelihood that I would ever encounter another pack is not overly high, and even then I would always be an outsider. We are insular. There are no records of Jedi or Sith Gank that I know of: we were too unwilling to break ranks for anyone to be tested even if they might have had the talent for it. I doubt any of them would seek my kind of life"

Sol's expression grows more serious. "Furthermore, to join them would be to be party to the work they take. The Empire wiped away my family.. but only after we allowed them close enough to betray us." Sol stops to leave the kind of work even the Empire didn't want ties to unsaid

[The SCaT Droid]

"Such barbaric acts alone should be signs of a government that is worthy of resistance. I only wished I would have known that and how to do so when Count Dooku was still alive. Maybe then I wouldn't have fallen into the traps of those with the means to convince people to perpetrate such acts."

[Solork Tan]

"Many do though. They know the danger but consider it "a necessary evil", an extraordinary method. Then, the method works. The necessity never quite goes away and so the evil becomes tolerated so long that it becomes "the way its always been"

Sol looks back into the Grotto." We are far from the only ones who learned too late"

"Then we need to emphasize that there is no such thing as 'necessary evil'."

[Solork Tan]

Sol opens his mouth and then shuts it.

Thats pretty much what Cartess teaches, but i cant exactly go around saying that I learned it from a Jedi Knight

"I certainly will"

"Even if that means fighting for the rights droids have been denied for over 4000 years?"

[Solork Tan]

Sol shrugs and holds up his hand, showing off the metal. "The Empire isn't exactly fond of cyborgs either. Or non-humans, for that matter." That didn't quite seem enough, and the Gank thinks. "I told you that I am a Guardian. One who protects those who cannot stand for themselves. I do remember that specifying that those who were synthetic do not count. Sure, if your memory banks are damaged, you lose who you are, but the same can be said of organics and brain damage. If those without the ability to procreate are excluded, I do not remember my protection failing those who were born or rendered sterile."

Speaking the words has a cathartic sensation. "I may stumble, and I may fall, and I may come up short for you SCaT, but I will fight"

[The SCaT Droid]

"You don't have to get physical to destroy the memories of a droid. All you do is hook up them up to a machine, press a button, then BAM that droid is as dumb as it was coming off the factory line. The worst part of it all, it's always has been legal, even recommended even before the 'thousand years of peace' that came with what happened on Ruusan." It takes a pained minute just thinking about all of its brothers who didn't get the chance to avoid their fates. Then turns its head bittersweetly(?) towards the gand. "Thank you for the sentiment all the same, could I ask a favor of you? If I were to forge some paperwork to say I have a new owner, would you be cool with me putting your name down?'

[Solork Tan]

"You'd be alright with that with someone that you just met?" Sol looks over the droid. "I certainly don't have a moral issue with maintaining a legal fiction to avoid trouble, and I offer you my word that I wouldn't take advantage, but that is a pretty sparse pledge"

"I suppose there is a risk that I would be implicated in whatever you are caught doing but-" Sol coughs. "I mean, I am sure it hasn't escaped you that I will be attracting a very certain kind of trouble"

[The SCaT Droid]

"You're the first person I've met on this planet that I know believes in droid's rights, that alone means you would be a good choice. Add onto that the fact that you are both willing to get into trouble to help others and are capable enough to get yourself out of it and you get as close to a perfect 'owner' a droid could have."

[Solork Tan]

"Well..." Sol extends his mechanical hand to the Droid "I would appreciate you standing by my side, and mine at your then. Especially if you have records on the Lore of the Force. I don't think I can know enough about it"

[The SCaT Droid]

"Same here, sadly most of what I know is a direct result of my experience in the war and a little bit from what I read when trying to piece together why there wasn't a standing galactic army before the clones. However, this will be a goal I wouldn't dare deny. Now there would be a couple of questions I need to ask you: first what will my purpose be on paper and 2 what color scheme do you have in mind for me?"
