Tucking her hands in her pockets, she nods. "Yep. Most nights. Have a dancer joining me for some of them recently on the pole. Bigger draw, for sure." If she's jealous, there's no hint of it. "Come by when you're able."

But she does catch the lingering smile, "any good, suitably-scrubbed-to-protect-your-clients, stories from everything going on in the City? Hanging out in the Upper more to meet folks like Korvin? Or just into swoop racing lately?"

"It's been a while, but yeah I'll try to stop by. Got to check out this new act at least." He gave a friendly smile then looked out at the track. "As for stories? Helped a family get offworld before certain people could find them, so that felt good. Now I'm working a new case, another missing person...after a fashion." He scanned the crowd to make sure his target wasn't checking out the races.

"That _is_ good. Even if it's probably hard to leave everything like that." She glances down the racers, then back. "How...do you start looking for someone? Particularly if they've left the world, maybe a long while back? Is that even possible with a whole galaxy to look at?"

"Sure you do," Torr laughs. He then waves for the bartender and orders a mead. Turning back to Nelk, "Things have been moving quickly these last few days!" His drink arrives and he takes a few self contented sips. "Last nights encounter made me think again on studying certain things..." He refers to the inquisitor. "How she enhanced her already impressive abilities. I don't think I was even doing anything to her. And here I'd already sworn off utilizing the force." He clicks his tongue. "Perhaps I should... reevaluate my thinking of the matter." He rubs his chin thoughtfully.

"Ahh the force. A powerful tool that can inspire unnatural desires for power, cripple ingenuity or shackle the mind. The Force creates more slaves than I ever did." Nelk takes a deep gulp from her beer as she watches the race unfolding. She silently cheered Qar on. "What are your plans with that Jedi weapon?"

"To throw it in a deep ravine." Torr smirks. "Of what you said about the force though, I am in full agreement." Torr's mind raced back to his studies. He found himself shaking his head in disgust. "Study of the force stagnated when it became a religion." He takes another drink.

Torr blinks, "My weapon is my fist." Slowly a smile forms and he laughs heartily, "Me a je'daii, how amusing!" He laughs for a little while longer before the amusement wears off. But it should simply be a science. Ask those who believe in the four elements if all life sprang from the oceans - and when they hesitate remind them of a moon called Indobok." He chugs the rest of the mead and orders another.

Nelk smirks in amusement, and takes a gulp of her beer. "Very well, Torr. It may do you some good to return to basics. Maybe it'll clean you up a bit. It won't look good for me if my companion is a sloshed cat in tattered robes." She smirks again and finishes her beer, waving down the tender for another as well. "If you're going to trash that weapon, why not let me have it instead? I may be able to turn a bit of a profit in one way or another."

She watches the racers jockey for their positions, sometimes slipping by one another far too close for comfort. With a nod and a slight shiver of the fur along her upper arms, she turns, smiling. "Always. But...particularly down here, I think." She glances back at Nara's banner before heading toward the bar and its monitors.

As horrifying as the idea of it was, Soleene could allow herself a slight chuckle regarding that joke. "Hah, it would be something, wouldn't it?"

Hopefully, it would never happen.

"Seems like it's how things worked out. Thank you, great to be here, sister." She said with a few small nods on the matter, perhaps sounding a bit humbled and appreciative of Raven's words.

She caught the sound of the chime and followed Raven's gaze to the race at hand. "Someday, you might need to feed me a few drinks before that happens...Okay, Clay and a bunch of other racers..."

"Seems like a rough start," Raven remarked of Clay's performance so far, visor fixed on the race itself.

"... Now I really want to see them compete against a Mando with a jetpack."

[Soleene Stryss]

"He's against some heavyweights, that's for sure...they don't mess around, even the rich kid. I wonder if the next leg will have something to shoot at," she said as she looked around. It wasn't one of those death races where the local fauna jumped at the racers, right?

Soleene nodded in amusement. "Heh, would you be throwing in for that race then?"

[Raven Cadera]

"A jetpack race?" Raven asked, chuckling. "I'd be willing to place bets on it, at least. Hopefully it would have some good fights too compared to this. I had expected more... shooting?"

"I wasn't expecting it, really...but it wouldn't hurt. Just the fun sort, where you aim for a little bruising." She chuckled. "But I get the feeling the Imperial types don't really allow for that sort of run around here. Too much shooting around, they're probably going to start thinking that we're practicing to get shots at them."

"Which they would be right." She added with a moment of seriousness.

It seemed rather fitting that there was some shooting going on in the race, as some of those local Gonks fire at the racers. Raven almost pumps her fist in excitement.

"Wow, look at that rich kid go! Didn't think he had it in him to be that agile and quick thinking."

So those other pilots were afraid of some potshots at them? Bet the ruins were more dangerous than the gonks.

[Soleene Stryss]

"Really, now?" Soleene said with a bit of surprise in her tone as the race took a dangerous turn as the racers rolled into gonk territory. She wondered if her mind was being read or if it was always part of the plan. "Hopefully Clay won't be too distracted..."

[Raven Cadera]

"Koyaci!" Raven cheered as Clay shot some the Gonks. Hey, he might not win the race, but at least he shot up some punks! She at least wasn't worried about him being distracted in the race.
