Day 8 LM- Amongst our people

[J-Richo Toboga]

It took some time but J-Richo was back at the crater but now knew what was inside. Most importantly he had the green light to come and go after few negocitations.

He had met a few mandalorians over the years, some small groups that at the largest would only be a fraction of what the raiders were. In more ways then one this was new to him and certainly very new to Solork. No doubt they had diverging philosophies but that could be a good thing. Furthermore they were mando'ade and unlikely to be pro-Imperial so perhaps camaraderie could be found and trade be made.

''Here we are''

[Solork Tan]

Sol nods, getting the basic gist of the words but not wishing to betray his relative lack of knowledge of the language.

"I'm rather curious at what they'll make of us"

[J-Richo Toboga]

''The inverse is also true: They may not follow the codex but they are mando'ade like you and me.'' he paused as he tried to explain it ''They are like distant family''

Richo looked ahead towards the camp, trying to recall the layout

''They must be resourceful to maintain such a number here.''

[Solork Tan]

"I would say that's a point in their favor that they can survive out here. Arguably more than you can say about us if we cross them." Sol replies with a rueful smile. " I'm hoping that this doesn't turn into a messy family squabble"

[J-Richo Toboga]

''It should'nt'' he said confidently ''We are their cousin as well and unless something extremely wrong happens there will be no need for hostilities...there might still be violence but...you know...the fun kind''

[Solork Tan]

"Ahh, the familial "kick the poodoo out of each other" kind I hope. That was always good bonding, and you got better parts out of it when you lost." Sol sighs. "Ahhh childhood memories"

[Meiyokashi]

A young warrior approaches them as they step inside the camp. Looking from Solork to Richo, "Bringing friends along now?" she shook her head, chuckling to herself, "Tir can in'a, vizehn ch'a vet," she speaks in Cheunh, a language unfamiliar to those present.

However, she looks between them and shrugs, "What're you lookin' for?"

[J-Richo Toboga]

Richo is not quite sure he recognized her but it mattered little.

''Su cuy'gar! This is Solork Tan, he performed the Gai Bal Manda a fortnight ago.'' he replied ''I thought it would be good to meet others of the mando'ade mostly to have a chat, have a friendly fight or perhaps even trade''

[Meiyokashi]

"Oooo-kayyyy," she looks around, other warriors not seeming to be paying much attention at the moment. With a shrug she looks back to Richo, "Su cuy'gar," she remembers to offer, shaking her head. "Anyway.. we're gearin' up for a fight of our own so- no friendly fighting here. That- and we're not exactly.. the friendly bunch most of the time? But you wanna chat," she gives a wave toward the camp, "plenty around for it.. and I guess trade on that too.."

"What're looking to trade anyway?"

[J-Richo Toboga]

''I want to put my rising phoenix into action'' he replied ''Better deal with the others of the mando'ade before going elsewhere.''

He looked around at the other warriors

''Prepping for a fight of your own?''

[Meiyokashi]

A stern mask looking back at him, but the helms of the Mando'ade rarely had another expression. Tilting her helm to the side she chuckles, "I understood most the words- no idea what you mean to say though. Yea, always but before we go off on that 'rising phoenix'? That uh.. the name for," she laughs, shaking her head, not finishing the thought.

[Solork Tan]

"I believe he refers to attempting to rebuild a Clan based around the teachings of Jaster Mareel and the Supercommando Codex." Sol pipes up " Which, admittedly, is appearing to be a slow project"

[Meiyokashi]

"Riiiiight, yea, I imagine it would be. You've got.. just the two of you or?" she glances between them.

[J-Richo Toboga]

Richo had been staring back and the raider's visor wondering if that was some for of humor he had not been privvy to. Before he could answer Solork replied a good answer...but just not to the right question.

''Okay!'' he clapped his hands once cheerfully ''This is a wonderful teaching opportunity about one of the traditions of the mando'ade'' He raised a finger in the air like all good teachers did

''Rising pheonix is the name of the series of techniques and maneuvers the mando'ade uses for jetpacks.'' he said with a serious nod

I made people learn something!

''So when I said I wanted to put my rising pheonix in action that meant I either wanted to use or, in this case, acquire a jetpack'' he glances between the two if them

''But also what he said...maybe not in the immediate though...and yes we are a clan of two going on three. As far as we know''

[Rezzie]

"Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight," there was the distinct sense she was trying to double the time she held a note. Glancing around she reminded herself of where it was, but it wasn't nearby- and thus didn't matter. So, she just laughs and finds a box to lean back on. Removing her helmet in the meantime and setting it aside.

"So- yea, I've been learning that I guess? People around here just.. well, not really a name I was given? Just, hey, here's a Jetpack you've always wanted- go nuts. Thing is.. we don't have a whole lotta those and I waited a real long time for mine?" A moment of hesitation following with a shrug. "Well.. we might have a few spare- but you know, that fight we've got coming up and all. Gonna need 'em."

"But-" she raises a hand, looking between Richo and Sol, "I.. hmm. How do I put this? I am curious. If he ain't got armor," she points to Sol, and then pats her own chestplate, "and he's supposed to be your number two, don't that make you a Clan of one?"

[J-Richo Toboga]

''My father was not an honorable man but not a wealthy one. Beyond the helmet I am wearing he could not pass down anything from our ancestors and thus I cannot pass on much to my friend here'' much of the energy from his previous intervention was lost now, replaced with something like shame. ''But he swore the oath and while his education is not yet complete he is part of the mando'ade.''

He paused and made something like a sigh

''We will have to craft our own armors ourselves with what we earn or the trophies we gain.'' he pushed back his cloak to reveal the red tinted chitinous segmented plate armor

''As for the jetpack...I understand. Especially near a fight.'' he tilted his head ''Depending on who you are fighting we can offer our help''

[Solork Tan]

"It's will be a point of pride to craft my own armor. However, there is another project that I consider to take priority" Sol doesn't seem ruffled by the assessment. "I have the beginning of my design ready though. Getting the materials, time and workspace to do so...not so much. I am rather curious about any bladed weapon practioners though"

[Rezzie]

"Right- see.." she looks between the two of them, and then around the camp. "I'm.. I don't want you to take this the wrong way, yea? But- I think the both of you are in waayyyyy over your heads to be callin' yourselves a clan. People around here-" she gives a little wave around with her finger- "most of us are pretty light on some of the feelings being raiders, in this for our own reasons, but we're still Mando'ade. We all learned everything we needed to in order to call ourselves that, and even me-" she proudly taps her chestplate again-" from my mom."

"You two though.. no beskar? Save for that helmet maybe.." she points to Richo, then glances, "And this one?" she points to Sol and focuses on him. Speaking in a language he does not understand, "Jorhaa'ir bal bu'lya ni katkrabagr."

However, Richi does, and she simply says to Sol in Mand'oa, "Speak and prove me wrong."

If a helmet could frown boy would it. Still, defiance could be heard in his voice

''Clan Toboga is old and predates the Annihilation. Our forebears fought beside Mandal'ore Jaster Mereel and were nearly entirely eliminated when the Death Watch sent the Republic and the Jedi to kill them all since they could not do it themselves. My father and what little remained got separated during the clone wars and he believed he might have been the last before he adopted me.''

he nods towards Solork

''And I adopted him as per our rites barely a few days ago. He does not fully speak mando'a yet but he is learning...and as for beskar...'' he crossed his arms ''...beskar does not make the mandalorian. We have not thrived but we have survived thus far. We *are* members of clan Toboga, perhaps the two last, but we are still here.''

To be clear, Sol doesn't know the vast majority words that are spoken to him catching only one he had learned for his adoption, but the tone and body language are something he knew all too well from his time in service to the Hutts: a challenge. Even for his dim capacity, the upshot would be that he didn't belong. In response, he strides forward with as much gravity that he can muster to be eye to eye with Rezzie. He stands quiet for a moment, his vocabulator growling out two words:

"Vode An"

Sol waits a beat and continues in basic. "I confess, in most ways I am a child walking in the boots of the Mando'ade before me. I have not mastered a language in three weeks while supporting a rebellion. But I have continued with my ba'jur. Were I to pick the beskar'gam without having acquitted myself, would I not have stolen that honor? As for our Aliit...ifI have learned one thing from studying the histories, it is that the single universal constant among Mando'ade, is that they are told by all the others that they are not...and survive all attempts to prove them wrong. Ara'nov.""

The Gank waits for a moment and begins to turn his back on the woman to return to his brother in arms. "Please forgive my brother in arms for my brusqueness. It is only the purview of a child to speak what few truths they know."
