[D8ME] Wookie Teras Kasi Master 2: Mo' Wookiee Mo' Problems

[Manny Donos]

Once more, the ramp was open! A variety of snacks were prepared (well, as long as different egg dishes were a variety). The "WELCOME FRIENDS" banner was back in place... although Manny resolved to check the guest list a little more carefully this time.

It was time for Wookiee Teras Kasi Master 2.

Manny himself was in the kitchen, visible from the common room, which was just past the dorm rooms, which was just aftward of the entrance ramp. Club music (EDM!) played at a reasonable level throughout the ship... but REALLY throughout the ship; there wasn't a spot where it couldn't be heard steadily thumping along

[Dhelih Dotaivi]

Dhel rests a hand between his shoulder blades briefly as she squeezes by in the small space, a silent 'behind you,' gesture. Dropping into a crouch, she rummages through the bottom cabinet for larger snack bowls, bobbing slightly in time with the pulsing music. The distraction from the work coming up later in the evening is incredibly welcome.

As she rises, arms full of bowls, she asks, "Do we still have some of those red-yolk eggs? I want to froth one up for drink topping."

[Manny Donos]

"Hey, Dhel." Manny said as she passed by. As she rose, loaded with bowls, he cast her first a sidelong glance, then a smile.

"Ummm... let me check the egg bin." Pulling open the refrigerator, he pulled out a large clear plastic container filled with eggs of different shapes and sizes. "Errrr... was it one of these medium red eggs? Or one of these small blue eggs? Or these green ones? I wish they said on the outside what was inside!" He looked at Dhel. "You want me to start checking?" He picked up two eggs, seemingly at random.

[Dhelih Dotaivi]

Dhel shakes her head with a chuckle. "I think it was the blue ones, but...we can always use them in something, so may as well start checking."

"And...thanks for setting this all up. We can use the distraction." Hands full, she bonks her forehead against he shoulder. "it's going to be great with the new sound system up!"

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Korvin pauses at the base of the ramp, staring at the banner while some kind of internal dialogue plays out in his head. He huffs a couple of times, like he's trying to psych himself up for a race the way some riders do, but then he shakes that off. Quiet and still, eyes closed, he takes two deep breaths, and then looks intently up at the entry hatch.

As he exhales one more deep breath, his boots start to clonk on the ramp. At the top, he politely knocks twice on the door frame.

[Manny Donos]

Manny tilted his head, faintly hearing a knock over the beat of the music and its awesome lyrics. "Wonder who that is." He said as he made his way to the entrance.

"Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" He greeted the newcomer with his trademark combo of grin, fingergun, and thumbs-up. "How's it going? I'm Manny. Manny the Magician. Come on in!"

Oh right. "Ummm... you're invited, right? Last time I let this weird droid in because I figured he was cool to come in, but he sorta freaked out some of the others..." Manny shrugged apologetically.

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Korvin looks at Manny, slightly dumbfounded, but recovers enough to give him a polite smile. "Yeah, yeah. Dhel invited me. I'm Korvin." He takes a deep breath. "So you're Manny. The egg guy, right?" The Pantoran is completely expressionless, asking the question like he really needs confirmation he's in the right place.

[Manny Donos]

"I don't know..." Manny grinned. "Would an egg guy do... this?"

With a flourish, he pulled a few eggs from his vest. Tossing them in the air, he began to juggle them.

[Korvin Hikarrin]

The Pantoran's eyes go a little large and he briefly stops breathing as Manny starts to pull something from his vest, but as the eggs are revealed and the juggling starts, Korvin blinks dramatically and continues to breathe.

After a few moments watching the eggs fly around, he observes, "Uh, yeah, that does seem like something an egg guy would do..." After another moment: "Do you do, like... Other. Stuff. With eggs?" Korvin's eyes and tone have turned curious.

[Sholua Tempes]

Sholua emerged from her cabin and sauntered into the communal area like she belonged there, so it was fortunate she did.

"Yo Blue Sunrise, you made it."

[Manny Donos]

"Hey, babe." Manny cast a grin back over his shoulder at Sholua. "Just showing off my eggs a bit. You know how I do!"

He caught them one at a time, then gave Korvin a blank look. "I mean, sometimes I make omelettes and stuff. Oh, but I do tricks with other things! Like, cards and stuff. Here, come on in, I'll show ya." Tucking the eggs back into his vest, he lead the way back to the common area. There were, as promised, a few egg dishes set around. A few couches. Dhel and Sholua. A BIG vidviewer. And the music, still playing EDM.

[Raven Cadera]

Rain was not fun. Even with the helmet on, she felt like there was a dampness to her hair underneath. People would think that it was uncomfortable to wear armor when it was hot, but Raven had found that it was alright as long as you prepared and made sure to keep yourself covered in a thermal cloak. What she disliked was the damp feeling that rainy weather brought.

At least manners were remembered and some time was spent outside the ship making sure there wouldn't be puddles of water dragged in. And more importantly, the backpack with food and the change of clothing was safe and dry.

"Hello! I brought food!" That was a call that hadn't been heard in a couple of weeks, as Raven and the other Mandalorians had pulled back to their secret enclave. The call was soon enough followed up by the familiar figure of Raven rounding the corner into the communal area of the ship that had been set up for the occassion.

[Sholua Tempes]

"Oh the magic words!"

Sholua hurried over to help the 'not eggs' food to the table.

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Korvin had nodded respectfully to Sholua and trailed Manny as directed, taking mental notes about their interaction, the number of egg dishes, and the tall woman bringing even more food. Who seemed familiar?

He sighs with relief when he can see Dhel in the kitchen and idly asks "So... Are you feeding a lot of people tonight," as Manny readies a non-egg trick.

[Raven Cadera]

Raven passed a wrapped bag with food containers to Sholue as she came to help. "Bottom ones are stew, something for you guys to heat up tomorrow. Top is for the movie."

Sholua would find the top containers to have thin crispy bread of some sort, accompanied with various dipping sauces. One that seemed to be pureed chickpeas with some spices, and the other a red mixture that smelled of peppers and nuts.

Tilting her head to the side, Raven looked at Korvin. "Oh, right. You're the racer. Don't think we've had a chance to be introduced." She offered a hand, covered in an armored glove. "Raven. I'm a friend of Manny and Dhel. I've just been sharing my cooking with them while I've been on Bellionas, since I know Manny can't cook anything that doesn't involve eggs. And well, I owed Dhel a solid."

[Manny Donos]

"Hey, eggs are good... aren't they?" Manny looked around, his eyes wide.

But right, the kid wanted to see a trick. "Okay, I've been working on this one." He pulled out not one, but two decks of cards, one with dark backs, the other light. Smiling, he shuffled each of them, one handed. "This is the easy part." He said, playing it cool.

Then, frowning with concentration, he put both hands on the table, thumbs shuffling the two decks together. He picked them up, carefully patting all the cards into a single deck. Once that was done, he picked it up with his right, squeezing the cards from the side, propelling them into his left, palm up, a few inches away. And, finally, he gripped the cards with both hands, pulling lengthwise along the cards...

And suddenly he was holding two separate decks again.

"Ta-da! How about that?" Manny grinned around the room, pausing only a moment to wipe a bead of sweat away.

[Korvin Hikarrin]

Korvin's eyes are extra wide as he pretends like an armored glove is a totally normal handshake for him. "Uh, hi, Raven," he says, sort of lukewarmly. Be glad she owes Dhel, not the other way around. Although, how... Korvin shakes the thought away. "Nice to, ah, meet a good friend of Dhel's then." His smile gets a little warmer as he nods respectfully to her, and then he's distracted by Manny.

As the magician executes the trick flawlessly, Korvin's mouth hangs open. "Seriously, how did..." He smiles at the other man's skill, feeling some small kinship on the basis of agility if nothing else.

[Dhelih Dotaivi]

He sighs with relief when he can see Dhel in the kitchen and idly asks "So... Are you feeding a lot of people tonight," as Manny readies a non-egg trick.

Dhel looks up with a smile as he comes in. "Well there's five of us, and two guests...not so many, though Phroth is more like three people all on his own as far as food goes." She's found and whipped up the egg she wanted, turning the pinkish whites into a froth flecked with little red bits of the yolk added back at the end. Listening, she peers around him toward the ramp. "And that sounds like Raven." Bowl in her hands, she lifts up on her toes to offer a quick kiss before leading back out to the common room.

She drops scoops of the frothy mix onto a thick golden punch of some sort, before glancing at Raven. "This one's non-alcoholic. I didn't want to be drinking before the event tonight. Want my wits." She spots the bags Sholua's holding and brightens. "Stew?!"

To Korvin, she adds, in a faux whisper, "Honestly, I owe her to coming with me to Sinclair's as kind of a bodyguard and nerve-settler, but don't let on, because the stew is great." She also elbows him after, "are you going to introduce yourself of just have her call you 'the racer' all night?"

"Hey! You got that one to work! It looks pretty cool like that," she says as she finishes fussing at the punch.

[Raven Cadera]

"Always happy to help as a bodyguard, you know, or throw away people who get too handsy," she winked to Dhel. Yes, she had thought Korvin had been a touch too handsy with her back at The Cave, but... well, maybe that's just how blue people did it?

Handing over the food, Raven was distracted by Manny's new card-trick. Hands pressed together in intense focus to try to discern what the secret behind the trick could be. And again, she was left speechless with her mouth agape. "Wait, how did you manage that?"

[Korvin Hikarrin]

It had all been a lot for Korvin to take in, and he was in the same place as Raven, really trying to understand the trick. But being reminded about manners was too powerful a thing for a kid from a nice family and he immediately corrected himself: "Oh, Raven, I'm sorry. My name's Korvin. Korvin Hikarrin. But, ah, I've had worse nicknames than 'racer,' if you just want to stick with that," he jokes lightly.

He looks over at Manny again, the trick tugging at his imagination still, but he resisted that pull and instead took a step toward Dhel. "Anything I can help with, Dhel," he asked, his voice not sounding too much more hopeful than normal.
