The Salky Raiders, Big and Bold

[Manny Donos]

Manny's hands were fast, but they were also full. He was Manny "Both Hands", not Manny "Three Hands"!

After a moment of consideration, he struck the card deck against the helmet he was holding, then quickly stuffed them in a jacket pocket. And then, without missing a beat, he made a snatch towards the card. Would he be fast enough?

[Varina Ordo]

Varina raised a brow as he took the card out of her hand. It wasn't like she had planned on pulling it back, though in hindsight, that seemed like a pretty good idea. "I expected you to do some juggling trick to get it back," she said, shoving her hands into her pockets to continue her modeling of a delinquent teenager.

[Manny Donos]

"Hey, it's not like I can juggle her helmet! And you can't juggle with one hand." Manny tilted his head. "Actually, you can, but it's not all that cool."

He looked at the woman. "So hey, you want your helmet back?" He grinned, just a little more widely than usual. Oh yes, something was up...

He also gave a quick nod to the newcomer Mandalorian.

[Meiyokashi]

When the attention turned back toward the raiders, the woman was leaned in by Carid and whispering something in his ear. Carid, however, was attentive and gave her a nudge when Manny turned toward them. A few seconds and recognition dawned, "Yea, champ. I'll take that back," she held out her hand, smirking as she did so.

[Manny Donos]

Manny grinned. "Here you go." He handed it to her. Somehow, during the exchange, he'd managed to stick a card to the forehead of the helmet. It was The Idiot.

He smirked, giving her the double finger-guns. "Something to remember me by."

After a moment, he cleared his throat. "Actually, though, I do kinda need that back. There's only one in each deck, you know, and The Idiot is a really important card..." He shrugged sheepishly.

[Varina Ordo]

"Wouldn't singlehand juggling be more impressive?" Varina asked. Her eyes darted back and forth in thought. "Hm." Unfortunately for her, it seemed like she'd missed any sort of whispering due to Manny. No wonder she tormented him so much!

Her attention went to the helmet and the card. She snorted but managed to keep her laughter relatively in check. While pouncing on that was opportune, she could detract from it with a quip.

[Meiyokashi]

Accepting the helmet back with the one hand she turned it around a bit and found the card not too long after. Carid watched, amused. She looked dumbfounded for a moment before glancing up to Manny in time to catch the finger guns. Allowing for the neutral expression to turn toward a slight scowl before finally finding it's way into a smirk. Downing the rest of her drink she set the mug aside with a toss onto a nearby table.

Shifting the card into her hand as she slipped the helmet over her head she looked to Manny and laughed, "Shouldn't hand out what's important to you, kid," she places her other hand over where her mouth was under the helmet and blew a kiss before walking off, card still in her hand.

[Varina Ordo]

"And you call me mean," Varina said as she watched the lady walk off with the card. She pursed her lips and looked between the two guys still with her. "Did she ever give her name? Did I forget?"

[Meiyokashi]

"Ketsu over there? Nah, she didn't. Though you are right on that first idea. Few folk meaner than that one, promise you that," he chuckled to himself on that bit. Glancing in the direction she wandered off before refocusing. "You lot need anything from me before I go?"

[Manny Donos]

"Not unless you can get my card back." Manny sighed. "But no. It's okay. I don't really need it."

He paused a moment, and then smiled optimistically. "Do you think she liked me?"

[Meiyokashi]

"No kid, no she didn't," Carid shakes his head and laughs.

[Varina Ordo]

"What? How could you believe that she did? She called you 'kid!'" Varina's face contorted in both bemusement and amusement. "Like I said, his nickname is 'No Girlfriend.' And Manny, that's not so bad to say out loud. The 'ladies' will know you're available then."

She shrugged and turned her attention back to Ketsu for a brief moment. These Salky Raiders were a strange bunch, that much was sure.

[Manny Donos]

Manny sighed, momentarily deflated. "Hey, I don't know. I mean, it's definitely not a cool nickname, like The Redeemer, or The Destroyer, or Both Hands." Three equally cool names.

But only momentarily. "Anyway, Varina, how's it going? I haven't seen you for..." He frowned, holding up his hands, counting on his fingers. When he got to three, he just shrugged. "A while! Are you still... you know..." He made a thrusting motion with his right hand, accompanied by a gagging noise.

[Meiyokashi]

Carid stayed just long enough to see the most recent display from Manny. Putting his one free hand up in the air, "I don't even want to know," and promptly walked off, leaving the two to their business.

[Varina Ordo]

"'Both Hands' is an even worse nickname." Varina waved off Carid as he departed. "I'm sure he agrees. As for the other two, I think you'd need to do more to earn those, you know?"

Varina looked down to her rapier and then back to Manny. "Or he left because of that. I guess I still am training, though I've been keeping out of any battles, if that's what you're wondering. I suppose I'd like," she said, trailing off as she made whooshing sounds as she swung her arm, "something where it, like, electrocutes them? That doesn't kill people, does it?"

[Manny Donos]

"Yeah, like, just shocking them? That sounds fine." Manny nodded. "I don't think you can kill someone by shocking them, unless you throw them into a pool of electricity or something. Or if they're a killer robot." He glanced around, making sure there were no killer robots nearby.

"Training? You're already a badass, though. How many of the other Mandos do you think you could beat up?" He grinned excitedly.

[Varina Ordo]

"Is that what stun setting does with blasters? It never really made sense to me." Her hand went to her pistol. She could, in fact, test out shooting her own foot. Or even Manny! But after contorting her face in deep contemplation, she felt like the former was a terrible idea and the latter a bit too mean, even for Manny.

"I doubt it," Varina said with a bit of a frown. "Maybe without armor, of course. Or if I needed to, I guess this would be the time, when they're drunk and all that."

[Manny Donos]

"Yeah, totally. I mean, I don't know, but that makes sense." Manny nodded, a cheerfully vacant expression on his face. Completely unaware of any consideration of being a stun blast target.

"Well, I mean, take in a fight. I mean, I know that's a guy thing, but I figure all Mandalorians do that, too. You know, 'bro, I could totally take that guy in a fight, especially if you had my back'." He nodded to her. "Which I would, you know. I thought you and that guy might have been about to fight, and I was so almost ready for it."

[Varina Ordo]

"But when people get shot by stun blasters, they kind of just drop instead of," Varina said, pausing to demonstrate a jolting, "seizing up like that." Unless she'd somehow forgotten what it looked like. Maybe shooting Manny was a good idea after all.

"Oh, me and Carid? No, I just wanted to ask him about some stuff." The teen sighed, depressing her shoulders. All teasing aside, Manny was dependable in some sort of way. At the very least, even if his ability to back her up in some sort of fight was questionable, he was some sort of performer and performers heard things sometimes! "I'm looking for my mother. Reibelle, in case you didn't catch it the first time. I think she could be running with the Salky Raiders but, honestly, I'm not sure."

She sighed. "Also, you're right. A lot of Mandalorians do size each other up, regardless of gender. But I'm not really like that, well, not for the thrill of it." A partial lie; she did think about beating people up a lot. But she really wanted to change that part.

[Manny Donos]

"Huh." Manny considered that a few moments, and then shrugged. "Maybe you're just a different sort of Mandalorian than the others. You're a Varina-Mandalorian." He nodded. That sounded good.

"You're looking for your mother? Where did you last see her?" He frowned, considering. "Ummm... this is kinda awkward, but is she one of those sorts of people who you don't know where they are and they want it to stay that way?" Manny looked at her semi-sympathetically; it would have been more sympathetically, except he wasn't totally sure what was happening yet.
