Finding another spot Solork see's something that will work for getting the lure to spread, but the location is more open than they would like. Which may have unfortunate consequences when it came to setting their trap.. there was some difficulty in being certain just how.

"Well, I think that's the best I can do for now. I could use your help with the snare Doc, Zim"

Sol turns back, feeling the sweat begin to pool from the rising sun.

(So with Aanli helping Zim this should be YGG Vs something by using Intense Focus, yeah? Waiting on a difficulty )

[Dr. Aanli Ven]

Aanli turns to Zim, "Shall we?"

((I believe so, yes. Just need the difficulty.))

[No difficulty, someone sets it up and the creature makes an opposed check against it. I just need to know who sets it up to know the difficulty.]

[Dr. Aanli Ven]

((Then if it's not something we can do cooperatively or with Intense Focus, then I suppose that would be Aanli with cunning 3.))

[Zimrzala Skalirz]

Zim looks to the doctor, then to the area around, trying to feel it for where it might make more sense to set up the snare, then nods to Aanli.

"Let's do it".

As the group gets the lure set, and the trap ready, they take cover and wait as to not spook the creature away haphazardly. With the wet moss substance Sol procured for the lure dripping into the water rather than held just to the side of the pond they'd focused around it was only a matter of time before the creature they were told to seek appeared.

Ten minutes...

Twenty..

Thirty..

And then they felt.. apprehension for a moment. As the surface of the water grew dark and an immensely large creature surfaced from the hidden depths beneath the pond with the water rushing off so fast it sounded alike a roar. As the water spilled and splashed off the creature it approached the moss laid out by Sol and climbed over it- the snare set it snaps up and grabs a hold of the creatures underside with a crackling sparks!

However, as the snare falls limp the large lumbering crab-like creature with a chitinous dark purple outer layer and small agile claws clambers over toward the moss and leans down. Picking at the small bit of moss used for the lure and eating it up.

"Ok. Plan B then." Sol opens up a few cannisters of the synthetic anesthesia and loads up another section of moss, tossing it the creature.

"Let's hope this knocks it out. If not...how worried are we about it now?"

(2 doses on anesthesia used, moss thrown)

Skittering forward on large legs the creature moves for the moss, picking it up and eating it with it's BIG, MEATY (actually rather slender), CLAWS. However, when they watched and hoped for the creature to seem affected by the moss it just kept on as it had been, searching around for more of the what must be a delicious treat.

"Well, let's hope that the stories about it not being eager to harm are true" Sol gathers up more moss and begins to lay a trail away from the swamp.

"I have an idea. If things don't work, please try to keep it out of the water"

Sol steps forward with a clump of moss in his outstretched hand, offering to feed to creature

[Dr. Aanli Ven]

Aanli nods, and steps back with Zim to let Sol take on this challenge himself. But once she's out of earshot, she leans over to Zim.

"Do you have a better plan to keep it out of the water than asking it nicely?"

[Meiyokashi]

Seeming to take notice of Sol in that moment the creature hesitates, but before he's gotten too far with the trail and offering the piece the creature finds the nearby source he's collecting from. Taking it's time and ingesting what moss it can from the surface of the rock it was growing upon.

This afforded them precious little time as the creature was making short work of what was available.

Aanli nods, and steps back with Zim to let Sol take on this challenge himself. But once she's out of earshot, she leans over to Zim.

"Do you have a better plan to keep it out of the water than asking it nicely?"

"I... might be able to help keep it calm. Or at least get it tired enough to keep it quieter with some time", she answers, keeping her voice down to avoid distracting Sol and the creature. "But... I do hope they manage to reach 'some' agreement", she adds, looking ahead and somehow doubting it.

"Do you have other ideas, Doc Aanli?", she asks, a slight crease of worry on her brow.

[Dr. Aanli Ven]

She opened her jacket to show a tiny holdout pistol. "Well, violence isn't a better idea for me. So good intentions it is."

[Solork Tan]

"Well, let's try this. If not, I'm running for the water and praying" Sol moves around to the back of the creature, so that he is closer to the water of the swamps reaches out to place his hand on the carapace of the creature and tries to reach out with the Force, seeing if it can answer his call.

"You don't seem angry. Please...can you help me? Can you help me find what I need?"

Zim steps a bit closer and tries to reach to the beast's inner nature as well, but tries not to interfere - for now at least.
