D8 EM: Conditions missing

[The SCaT Droid]

SCaT has had the ability to disregard the orders of a master for only a few days. In that time, he integrated the information J Richo Toboga has offered in the form of a data chip. Analysis of the requirements to be considered a mandalorian are as follows
: 1. Speak mando'a, simple for a droid. 2. Follow the call of the Mandalore, there is currently no mandalore and you any who claim to because prove it first. 3. Do whatever you can for your clan, your family, and if that means the 2 fine gentlemen he already likes, then that's easy too. 4. Wear the armor, just a matter of changing your attire, 5. Educating the future generations, SCaT can learn it with time.
That only leaves the last requirement, defense in all forms. Great, with all the rust SCaT has had to take off over the years, he joints are as strong as that of a child. So he goes to where the Toboga leader resides in Hope's of at least learning the basics for now

Richo, always on guard in his section of the city, easily spotted his fellow droid and walked out of the empty apartment he took residence in

''Good morning Scat, How are you doing?''

"I am doing fine, the directive is safely out of my system now. So I took some time to think about those files you sent my way. I've noticed a deficiency I have that may exclude me from the criteria you sent." The droid then points to the comically thin arms that are just a little bit slimmer than a standard b1's. "I was hoping for a preliminary assessment in the hopes that I can correct any defects."

The mando, guide of two others, observed the other droid's frame

''Combat'' he said with a nod ''I can help you understand your limits...but it is you who will have to find a way to correct or c ircumvent your own weaknesses''

He thought for a second

''There is many ways one approach combat and it is not always the same. Fighting with brute force can be good in some instances but fighting with cleverness can carry the day in other circumstances.'' he explained ''But let's find out what you can do first. Do you have any martial notions?''

"I am proficient with my pistol, could probably do well with grenades if I had some also. However, my strength has waned with wear and tear on my arms. I do what I can, wearing armor that doesn't just soak damage like I used to, an ascension gun to achieve vertical movement, but other than those I haven't found workarounds for melee combat.

''But you have ways to escape it...correct?'' he inquired

[The SCaT Droid]

"Yes, but I figured from the way the Resol'Nare was written that I would need to be able to defend others using whatever way possible. I noticed a particular problem in an area and am pointing it out. I guess I could work on it as we grow our numbers but I should probably get the motions in my memory banks so I can do it if I absolutely have to."

''Allright'' he nodded towards another pathway ''Somekind of courtyard, we can practice fighting there''

SCaT silently follows, taking a look around the environment while waiting for whatever instructions are given for the training.

The courtyard was old, very old, and in ruins but it offered a good mix of obstacles and open spaces.

''Allright. I am not the best melee or hand to hand combatant but I can likely take what you can throw at me so we will still have a good idea of your limits.''

He turned towards the B-1 and raised a hand, palm open and facing him ''Punch it''

SCaT does his best to at least try to hit the hand and move back afterwords. But sadly, scat couldn't put much force behind it. It does however do a weird delay thing that might have given him a better shot next attack.

(Not sure if I needed to roll difficulty or not, simply going for fluff for now.)

There was not much force behind the punch likely due to the fact that it did not made proper contact.

SCaT takes some more shots, starting out well with the praise given, but momentum can only take you so far.

(forgot the #code, each die is a separate roll, so only 1 of six of these succeeded)

So 5 successful hits without any resistance whatsoever.

He observed the punches carefully and made his calculations

''Your technique and base physical ability on this is indeed very low.'' he stated ''Physical ability can be improved with new parts but for now technique might be the less expensive to improve.''

He nods

''Observe''

The BX took his hand to hand fighting stance

''Fists up are up and guards the face. Do not hold them to close to it however. Minimum distance from the face is about one fist.''

Hands out in front of its face, SCaT attempts to copy the stance in front of him. (anything in particular you want me to roll?)

(not unless there seems to be a need)

''You want some distance between your face and your fists in case someone overpowers your guard.'' he explains ''Too close and you will be hit by your own fist.''

He strikes the air

''The motion of the punch must start from the hip to gather momentum'' he demonstrated some more before reopening both his hands ''Practice alternating your punches''

He puts his hands out further and starts alternating punches then returns to a stance he saw in an old pugilist film.

Richo observed and took notes

''What is this stance? I do not know it?''

"I saw it at a fighting ring one time, an above the board one. I think they called it 'boxing'? "

''Boxing is a recognised sport'' he confirmed ''I am not versed in the style but the basics should be the same.''

He took a stance of his own

''Footing is essential it cannot be to wide or too narrow. Best distance it the length of your shoulders.''
