Bubblegum [2]

[Meiyokashi]

A young woman wearing a pink dress with blue accents approaches the bar. Leaning in against the edge she looks for the tender, "Hey!" calling with a big grin and tapping the rim of her glass. "Can I get a straw?"

With their nod toward her she happily leans back away from the bar and turns to face the open room again. Looking out over the field with an appraising eye. She'd arrived about half an hour ago with this young Imperial whom immediately went off with their officer buddies and left her alone. Something she said to upset them, probably, but here she was. Alone and with a room of all sorts of folk around.

A certain Zeltron woman who was likely the colour of bubblegum with a short length of blue hair was still at the bar, dressed in a pastel yellow short-suit. She had probably finished her third drink of the night but wasn't going to stop there until she was properly compensated for her time tonight by milking the open bar. There were many other things she could be doing, like drinking somewhere less insufferable or working on her punches.

Sure would like to use a certain someone as a punching bag right about now... She thought to herself as she got herself a blue slushy drink with plenty of fruit on top.

Taking the straw handed to her from the side by the tender without even looking, Sofia focuses on the Zeltron woman nearby. Smiling to herself, the edge of her mouth quirking up a bit, she slipped the straw into her drink and walks over. The drink in question a red-ish color with pink swirls inisde, fancy enough as it was but it certainly matches with the rest of the colors of her ensemble. Approaching Soleene to flank her at the side, putting Soleene between her and the bar she looks to her and sips while making eye contact.

Letting the straw slip from her mouth she smiles, "Hey."

Soleene raised a brow at the woman when she approached. Her first instinct put up her guard in a roomful of strangers, especially when many of them are Imperial. However, she did relax a little when she noticed her hair colour of choice on a human-like person. She couldn't be that bad if she had pink hair, right.

"Hey, yourself," she said with a faint smirk before taking a sip of her drink. "I'm going to take a guess and say that you're having a bit more fun than I am."

"Not yet," she slid up against the counter close to Soleene. Looking to her with that smile she measures Soleene for a few seconds, "What's got you so sour in a place with free drinks and pretty people?" she gives a nod toward the room but keeps her focus on Soleene.

Soleene gave a roll of her eyes at the question and she scoffed at the use of a certain word, the S word.

"I'm not sour," she said defensively, trying to seem otherwise. The correct word was probably salty. That was probably why she was drinking her share of sweet drinks, maybe.

"I've probably gotten off on this meeting on the wrong foot...You show up fancy for one event and then you absolutely blow it. That's kind of embarrassing." She sighed before taking a few more sips of her drink. "At least, I might make that mistake and think that until I realized that it's just the people here that suck. So, I'm just making my own fun, in a way."

"See, that sounds pretty sour to me. Salty maybe?" she teases as she slides in against the bar until her arm just barely touches Soleene. Tilting her head with a little smile when she did and setting her drink aside as she hovers a little close. "Most of the people here do suck," she nods, "even my date stood me up for her friends, ya know? I think I was cramping their style or something."

"Buut.. it's not all bad, hmm? Whatever got you embarrassed- they won't remember, they probably already don't. I do like this other idea you have though.. making your own fun? How're you making yours?" she askes, glancing to Soleene's lips for the briefest of moments before looking back to her with a smirk.

Soleene couldn't help but tilt her head slightly as the other woman found herself closer. "Most of the people here, yeah. I thought I had been missing out for a while when I saw the price of admission at the doorway but I think I was better never knowing. The drinks aren't too bad here. I've been catching up on my vitamins, in a roundabout way."

She pulled a fabricated cherry from her drink and plucked it from its stem with her teeth before chewing it. "...Yeah, who's your date? Sounds like someone that needs a scene to happen."

"On drink number four so far," She said as she gave her glass a shake before taking a few sips of blue slush. "Kind of wondering if I should stop after a few...or when they drag me out. I haven't made up my mind just yet."

"Someone more inconsequential than they realize," she says with a touch of an accent, one that matches Soleene's a bit, as she smiles briefly, watching Soleene. Collecting her glass as Soleene had taken some sips, and taking a drink for her own. Glancing out over the room briefly to see if she could spot the woman she came with but.. from this vantage, there was no luck.

"But.. I flit. She moves on and so do I," she glances back to Soleene as she thinks, shaking the glass a little and getting it to swirl, "Maybe someone'll make up your mind for you, that's how I usually do it," she laughs lightly, "I've had a few of these myself, they're nice- they don't skimp," setting the drink aside again and focusing back. Bringing up a hand with a slow approach, with a mindfulness for consent, she would touch Soleene's jaw delicately with just a few fingers. Eyes watching Soleene's with an underlying eagerness and hope to them.

"Inconsequential? Funny, I thought everyone who stepped through the doorway was suddenly ten feet taller around here. It sure feels like it with some of the company here." She scoffed before brushing some of her blue hair from her forehead and back into place. Her gaze did go to the room. "...Are you sure she's not the heiress to a droid company or the next in line to some kingdom planet?"

"They don't water down the drinks here, that's for sure. It has that going for them," she said in regards to the bar. Her gaze was now on her, allowing her to touch her as she intended to.

Soleene's hand would then move to meet Sofia's, her palm and fingers would brush against her to reveal her rough skin. This Zeltron was far from glitz or glamourous sort. She would ultimately deflect her hand from her face and transition into a handshake. "I'm Soleene."

With the hand deflected into a handshake Sofia glances to it and then leans away a little, a flush coming to her cheeks. Glancing just to the side, but then back- quickly regained composure, "And I'm embarrassed," she chuckles lightly, and returns the shake, her grip was a little firmer in the moment than might otherwise have been expected.

"Sofia, actually," she says, parting from the shake. Subtly stepping to give a little more space between them as she recollects her glass. Raising it for a sip, glancing around the room and returning to Soleene. "No, unfortunately for my date I'm pretty sure she's an upper mid-ling officer with hopes for something more.. but I don't think she's gonna get it. She's.. much too nice in all the earnest ways, ya know? Folk in positions like that don't rise without a little something more to make them unlikeable one way or another."

"Embarrassed? I almost kind of doubt it...but nice to meet you Sofia," she said with a small smile before taking a sip from her drink.

"Is that the case? That's pretty, unfortunately...being in the officer business. I never thought there was actually a nice one around here. I don't think they would ever even put you in the role if you were nice as well. Maybe she could see it as a learning experience, get grounded down until she becomes jagged or something. They probably keep going through the same thing until they are made alike, I bet." She took a citrus slice from her glass to take a small nibble as she gave it a moment's thought.

"Is it the uniform?" She asked with a glance directed at her curiously.

"I can be embarrassed, sometimes," she smirks, settling in again. "Not nice.. exactly," she smiles, sipping from her drink as she leans still toward Soleene but focusing now on the rest of the lounge. Letting the glass rest she swirls it in her hand, the liquid keeping a constant stir that way and glittering a little with the mix. "Not in the way you're thinking. Just.. she's not willing to be too harsh, hmm? Has the look to her face, think it's in the cheeks," she glances to Soleene, puffing up her own a little.

"Which.. is part of what drew me to her at first? Met her in an officers bar a night or two ago, after hearing about this," she gives a little wave of her glass toward the room. "Never got to get in here before.. I was real curious," she chuckles, sighing as that topic settles. "But.. you're probably right. Empire doesn't much like someone who can't do what they're told to do when it comes to it. Fixing people into that spot breaks some.. changes others," she glances down at her drink, shrugs.

"You could have fooled me earlier on that," she would smirk back and gave her drink a small shake after she had seen what Sofia was doing. The slush had worn out its welcome now and done its share of watering down her drink. Thankfully, the open bar meant she could be a little more decadent tonight. She would nudge off the drink and wave over the bartender once more. "A berry champagne cocktail with extra berry."

Soleene looked out toward the direction where she was hinting where her partner was at the moment. "Sounds like a cute girl, I'll admit. Probably cuter in uniform, as lousy and oppressive as those things are. She does sound more like just a date than...a relationship, which is what I thought it was initially. Do you think you could stand doing this more than once?"

"She is, and she is, it looks nice when it's a little messier though," she smirks, giving Soleene a knowing wink, "but yea- no, not typically a relationship type?" she shrugs, with the admission of the thought she looks to Soleene again with a brief smile. Letting gravity help her in the slide along the bar so she was closer again, just like she had been before she made her move. Looking back over the lounge though, "I flit around a little too often for most folk, hard to keep with someone you won't see. Everyone's got such lives, stuck in the mud where they are. Not me though.. still got a whole galaxy to see and explore," she laughs briefly, a soft lessening to it as she settles.

"Not sure it's much a date anymore since we parted ways.. not really, I'm not beholden to it?" she shrugs, looking back to Soleene and focusing on her eyes again. "But- what do you mean, stand doing this more than once? This- mixer thing? Probably not, not without some good incentive I imagine.. though," she smiles, nodding, "I do tend to find incentive where you least expect sometimes."

Soleene couldn't help but raise a high brow at Sofia's...exuberance (?) on the matter before chuckling it off. She couldn't help but wonder if she was trying to get her to blush now. "Heh, wow. Okay. Well, I'm not saying anything wrong with that...I'm just more used to seeing it happen at home. What used to be home for me. If you're worried about stuck in the mud, this crowd seems pretty muddy...at least from the outside. Have you ever considered going to a place like Zeltros, maybe?"

Once she got her drink, she slid it toward her and took a sip from it. After a pause, she took another sip from it. "Yes, this mixer thing. I would personally find it kind of weird without some very obvious outward drama happening or fisticuff happening to break the mood of this place."

"I think a place like that might even be too much for me-" she laughs, a little extra flush in her cheeks as she raises her mostly empty glass. A little quirk of her brow as she looks at it, finishing it off with a sip. Putting it down on the bar as the tender got Soleene's hers, Sofia smiled to them broadly and they collected her glass to grab her another.

Settling in for the moment, her arm leaning against Soleene's, she glances to the new drink she was holding, up to her lips, and then back to her finally, "Maybe I'll have to see if I can get there someday, kinda go where the galaxy takes me... that kinda thing happen a lot on Zeltros? Fisticuffs and the like? Sounds exciting," she chuckles, almost a giggle but it had that little harshness to it.

"Oh, no, not the fisticuffs. I meant more about the flitting that you were talking about earlier. They like to say that flitting is a Zeltron invention...I think. A lot of people do find it too much, sometimes even some Zeltron." She said before taking a long sip from her champagne cocktail. "Okay, maybe there's some drama and fisticuffs there for various reasons..."

Soleene took another sip on the matter, not that she was going to share with her the bit about the short tempers that Zeltron may or may not have.

"Ahh, I getcha.." she smiles, watching her with another thought playing across her minds eye. "I don't tend to flit this directly, I'll admit. More just.. spend a few days and move on kind of flitting? Need at least a little time to focus on what's in front of me, hmm? she smirks, glancing down to the glass and back up again like she had prior, to lips and then eyes.

"I wanna ask you about why you find this so weird without fisticuffs and drama, but first.." she laughs, it's bubbly, "don't poke fun, but can I get a taste of your drink? I've been curious since I got here," she asks, a smile worn as she focuses on her eyes, a little glimmer to Sofia's own.

[Soleene Stryss]

"Uh-huh." She nodded on the matter, not quite sure what to make of it when it came to her testimony. Maybe she caught her in the moment or maybe she was just fibbing a little. "You can't get too carried away, otherwise you can't really enjoy whatever is in front of you. You'll probably end up forgetting names and moments."

Soleene would tilt her head curiously at the question before agreeing to it. "Sure. It's a little fizzy and sweet. A fun drink...Nothing I'd drink in front of my brothers and sisters but I'm going to let myself have a drink like this while I'm dressed in this get-up."

With that, she held up her glass for her to sip, making it seem like she intended on feeding her the drink.
