[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene did indeed give a passing nod to Raven when she neared with Praxton, although ultimately did stay a bit back to give the couple their conversation together.

When Praxton would approach again, she would stand to attention from her casual observation stance. "Sir? Praxton," she would say in quick succession, wondering what was needed of her.

Standing tall, strong features he glances out around the area. There was still an easier smile and warmer nature to him today of all days, which is to be expected. Yet, he still had that typical look about him, like a shepherd tending his flock. "Have you seen where Dredgen, Lysa, or Bura have gone off to?"

"But a struggle worth seeing to the end. I still owe the Empire for its role in the death of my father and the corruption of his legacy." Jyr smiled solemnly, "Yeah, have to see if anyone has dethrone Dredgen yet." Her expression turned into more of a smirk then softened, "And if you should need anything as well...you know where to find me."

"I'll be sure to," Kagr gives a quick nod to cement in the finality of the conversation and then turns about. Heading off along his way.

Soleene eased slightly when it seemed like she wasn't called to put out a fire or bash heads in. She crossed her arms and gave a few bobs of her head with a faint chuckle. "Hah, yeah. I think I did, just Dredgen, anyway. I saw him scuttle off to get more drinks and I'm guessing the rest were either there to help him out...or call dibs on the first tap, anyway. Not like anything is going to last long around here, right?"

"Not with all the bodies we have here today," he said, gave a nod. Looking off toward the room where they kept the storage he paused in thought for a moment. "I'm going to go check on them. Mind letting my wife know?" he gave a small smile, and nodded over his shoulder toward her. "She'll say I owe her, I do, and I know," he says with a last smile, waiting for confirmation before striding off.

Soleene gave a quizzical tilt of her head at the request. "Sure...but hey, are you sure about this? It seems better if you were to stick around here and I could just do the legwork instead to check up on them," she said as she gave a thumb to the general direction, for reference, "keep hanging out here and keep people company. Of course, unless...you'd rather?"

"I'd rather," he gives a quick nod, giving one last look around the larger portion of the room with a little shiver. Looking back to Soleene his glance seems to thank her before he takes a few steps away. Stopping a few steps away he looks back to Raven once more, smiles, and then makes his way off toward his new goal.

Soleene watched him head off for a moment before disappearing, figuring that he might just be looking for a breather or some time away. She gave a small shake of her head, it wasn't really her place to figure out.

Finding herself unoccupied for now, Raven helped herself to some of the food as she found a place to observe the interactions between Mand'alor's people and the Salky Raiders. (Open to be approached)

Turning to face Soleene, she gave her a wave in return. "Hey... oh, I see." She didn't seem disappointed by the news, more like she expected it. "Guess he wanted you to have the chance to partake in the festivities too." Half-true, the other half of it was that Praxton wanted to get away from the crowd.

"...Soleene was it? I'm afraid I haven't had much chance to speak with you before. Have you long been with Mand'alor's people?"

"Hrm," she murmured when she took the news easily, already having conjured a few reasons how she could have reasoned this decision to Raven. It was likely she knew him better than she did. "There was no need to put himself in a bid for that, if that was the case. I'm already kind of here already, right? He's the one who's stepping out for a bit."

"Yeah, that's right," her helmet bobbed twice, "I guess I've probably been here for almost two years. Well, a working relationship for nearly a year. Less than a year of actually standing around here and hanging out like normal, you know what I mean."

"Two years..." she let that sink in for a moment. "Well, it's good we're having this celebration now. So many of us are gathered here now, with all the ones who have joined up over the years now have a chance to finally meet their brothers and sisters." Her own unhelmeted head bobbed as well. The helmet she would normally wear currently being attached to her belt.

"Yeah, I know what you mean. We all need to do our part for the enclave, for our people." Realising she hadn't had the chance before to properly introduce herself before to Soleene, Raven extended her arm to offer the other woman a handshake. "Raven Cadera, sister... well, you probably heard that already."

"Is it that long?" she asked curiously as she repeated the number of years. "I figured that it doesn't really count as punching in the clock. But, this isn't a job, of course. There's a difference between crossing paths and putting in the armour," she was sure to mention. Her grasp of the language was extremely rough, to be entirely honest.

"It's a huge family, that's for sure. Kind of strange to just find out that you have these brothers and sisters from all different corners of the galaxy. Some apparently being your best friend, even if you've never met them, and some of them already hate your guts. It takes getting used to being that popular without knowing it," she nodded.

Soleene gladly took the offered hand and gave her a firm shake before releasing it. "An honour, Raven. Soleene, as you know. You're partially why we're here, right? Honestly, I thought you'd be busier."

The word 'family' seemed to soften her expression for a moment, until she refocused again as they shook hands firmly. "Partially, yeah. If it was just for us, I don't think it would've been that many," with a friendly warmth she chuckled, "neither Praxton nor I are people who enjoy big crowds." And certainly wouldn't have invited strangers to their celebration. "But as you say, there's a large family there. And Mand'alor wished to hold this feast."

"... Am I supposed to be busy?" Raven smiled a tad nervously.

"One thing leads to another, I'm sure, and it brought a lot of people here. I wouldn't fret about it so much, it's a happy occasion to have this many people here. We can worry about the bad blood after they leave, right?" She said as she gave the gathering another glance over. No, there didn't seem to be any sort of trouble here.

"...I don't know. Are you?" She asked in return as her helmet turned to glance at her. "I would have thought that at least half a dozen people would have tried to get your ear pinned down at the future wife of Praxton, just hoping that it'll make its way to Mandalore somehow. Not that we seem to be the politicking sorts. For a lot of people, this might be the last chance they'll get this close to you this casually."

She shrugged. "Well, that's what other people want...I'm sure you could busy doing what you want, too."

"Ah... to be honest, politics is quite outside of my wheelhouse." She shook her head with a brief laugh accompanying the movement. "I'm sure something good will come of it... Mand'alor is much more insightful to these things than I am."

Shit, was she supposed to be... making moves? Connections with these other Mandalorians? She hadn't really thought that she was anyone worth approaching besides for well-wishes and congratulations.

"Well, having the time and opportunity now to meet these other brothers and sisters, it's good enough for me to keep busy with that. Hopefully the next time, it can be something better... like a hunt, or a fight even."

"Same," she said in regards to politics. "But I imagine that you'd know your way around here than I do. You've gotten as far as married, that's something, right? Some people just look as far as tomorrow."

Soleene chuckled at the idea and nodded in acceptance as she gave the ground a glance. "Now, that's something. So I take it that I'm allowed to feel a little awkward about this gathering? Aw, well. This is kind of an old hat for me, one from a different lifetime ago. But yeah, it would be better to get ourselves into a fight. Really a way to know people without drinks diluting all the nerves away, if you catch my meaning. I'm sure everyone here can be fun but would I'm curious as to everything else, too."

"Finding a partner is part of life for many Mandalorians," she added, not feeling like it was some great political achievement of sorts. It was... whatever she was thinking, it made her face redden for a moment until she turned away to pick up something to drink.

Still, she didn't drink right away. "Hm, yeah. Yeah, a fight could be nice. Not that we should fight Mand'alor's guests, of course, but hopefully, we'll fight alongside eachother. Yes." Clearing her throat, Raven now took a sip of beer. "... This kind of stuff isn't old hat for me at all. It's quite different from what my life used to be before joining. Lots more people, and friendlier ones at that."

"Mmhmm," she nodded as she remembered. "I guess it should be natural that marriage should be part of it. You can't exactly practice the tenet of raising children as Mandalorians without children. Well, I suppose that could take form in any interpretation."

She shrugged, Mandalorians like herself could be considered children to some degree probably, as adopted members rather than those who were born in this sort of life.

"Oh, I meant me standing around and keeping watch while people were having all sorts of fun...that's probably where the similarities end. Yeah, never been in anything like this, at all. I think it's hard to replicate something like this." She gestured around them, meaning the Mandalorians themselves rather than the event. "I thought you were a natural, huh. Well, I guess a lot of people started from somewhere and do it long enough that you become a natural?"

Her gloved fingers drummed against the bottle after she finished taking a swig of beer. Raven didn't frown, but there was some deep thoughts going on behind her facade that she didn't really hide well, as she had become too accustomed to the usual comfort of her helmet. "Oh... no, I was born a Mandalorian. Born and raised. But..." she cleared her throat awkwardly, "my family died when I was young. I was on my own for a while before I was accepted in by Mand'alor."

The drumming on the bottle stopped. "Sorry for the confusion."

That was a slightly embarrassing mistake and Raven seemingly got a stare out of Soleene, it was hard to tell with the helmet when she was merely facing straight at her without saying anything. She was merely just trying to think of what to say next.

"Right. Sorry for the misunderstanding," she said finally with a deep nod. "Also, sorry for what happened...I found being alone isn't as free as it's made out to be, depending on the circumstances, a lot of weight on your shoulders than not. I can't say I know exactly where you've been but at least you can feel better where you're going?"
