That's So Not Raven (Max 4)

[Raven Cadera]

"Oooo-kay," like she was navigating a new weapon or fighting style, Raven did as he said as she placed her hand on his arm, letting him take the lead. This was going to be awkward.

Hopefully not as awkward as the first time she got persuaded into trying the jetpack. And here she had her feet on the ground. Floor. Whatever.

At least there was some music playing here in the background. Pretty dull background music. "So you've done this before?"

Dull music wasn't as fun but did make dancing more simple. "Oh yeah. A bunch of times." The large man said but how tense his muscles were and the slight tremble to his voice showed a bit of nerves. She didn't need to know he had, on more than once occasion, danced along with old holos.

He took a breath and smiled a little more convincingly "now just follow my lead." He went slow stepping back and forth and side to side slowly

She was light enough on her feet to follow his lead, though with some awkward stumbles and bumping into him along the way.

"Bunch of times, huh?" Raven remarked with a quiet chuckle. "... So it's... just going back and forth like this? Seems easy enough. Now I feel like I've downplayed my people's ritual-dances by saying that I don't dance. Just, compared to what I've seen Sholua do on stage, calling both dancing doesn't seem right."

"This is a very simple dance." he says staying with the rhythm mixing in new simple steps every now and again until they are moving in slow circles on the dance floor "This is a slow dance. A lot of other dances i've seen are faster and more fun. They probably don't play music for those here though." he thought for a minute "Its not unlike fighting. Two drunks at a bar brawl is fighting same as two master swordsmen fighting. One just takes more practice and skill but the other is still fighting."

"And you've been in a lot of drunken bar brawls?" She asked with a small laugh. "You don't seem the type. But I like this talk about fast dancing... as long as it isn't just faster swaying?"

As they moved, she settled into the rythm and figured out how to move along with him.

He smiled back at her comment as they moved in slow circles "Been in? No. Seen? Many. I've never been one to drink in excess." He says.

Deonis nodded "its much more fun. Though slow dancing can get technical and complex. But it takes more instruction than I know how to give. Perhaps we can find a place on Bellionas that has more upbeat music. middle city likely has a club we could go to."

"Hmm... I don't know. They probably don't like people in armor in those places?" At least she couldn't imagine that bouncers would allow that.

Deonis shrugged as they danced "then we won't wear armor." He looked down between them "it's probably good to come out of our shells now and again." He said with a smile.

"That's the thing," she smirked, "it's not my shell. It's my skin. Me being here without it, because it is needed, is already... not something I do very often."

Raven shook her head and let the dance carry on for now. "Think I'll stick with dancing with swords, for the time being."

Deonis thought for a moment, he disagreed with her but ultimately decided it wasn't worth arguing about and just enjoyed the moment for now "Well maybe we can make it work somehow, sometime." He said with a small smile on his face "I feel like you'd be good at it."

"Maybe?" she said, not quite sure how she would manage other kinds of dancing but well, not like it was dangerous stuff to try. Unlike a jetpack.

"I'm surprised though. Didn't think you were the dancer type, after our conversations. You seemed so much more... hmmm... esoteric? Is that the right word? Like mystical?"

Deonis chuckled "comes with being quiet. People think stuff like that. I'm really just a hunter, a warrior, a soldier. I'm usually quiet cause I don't know what to say." He said with an awkwardness that again made him look closer to his actual age "communication was never my strong suit."

He paused realizing he was diverging from her point "Dancing...dancing is just something that always looked fun. In the holos. Never had anyone to try with."

Raven shook her head with an amused smile. "Yeeaaah, communication isn't easy, I'll agree with that. But... maybe next time, you should try asking that person you like to dance, hm? Go somewhere nice that has a dancefloor. Sometimes, you can show how you feel, rather than try to put it into words by doing things like that."

He chuckled a bit picturing him and Tyllia dancing an odd pair to be sure but really no more odd than what was currently happening "Thats not a bad idea. Not sure if she likes it but maybe. Never hurts to try." He said smiling to Raven

"Usually doesn't hurt to try no," she offered encouragingly. "What do they like? This person you're fond of. Lots of ways to show how you feel without needing to find the words for it. Trust me, I should know."

He thought for a moment about the things he'd seen her do "uhm History, learning, I see her read old books all the time. She's not a fighter like us but she knows how to handle herself." He said after collecting his thoughts.

[Raven Cadera]

"Books?" That made her stop, looking at him with a couple of blinking eyes. Then, she laughed. "Wow, that's... sorry, just a funny coincidence that she likes books, just like my partner. I've been looking around for a place that sells old books here. So if I get lucky with that I'll let you know, alright?"

[Deonis Harik]

Deonis chuckled a little "More I learn about you more similar we become." He joked a little "but yes I would appreciate that." He would need to learn more about exactly what she was always reading about.

"So there are Mandalorians that follow different paths besides fighting? Or at least in addition to?" He asked with a small raise of his eyebrow ridge

A nod. "There are. Everyone who is Mandalorian must know how to defend themselves, and to be able to defend their family, but... many who are not warriors first and foremost; doctors, craftsmen, teachers, similar occupations. All are important."

Some might experience a bit more ribbing than others though if they weren't up to par with their fighting skill, but for Raven most of it was good-natured.
