[Day 8 - Early Morning] New Toys

[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene scoffed at that thought. "I'm sure they aren't used in races because very few people have them. Just a while ago, I'm sure the locals don't even know what a Mandalorian looks like." She scoffed. "Admittedly, I'm thinking about getting one in the future too. This running into battle is getting troublesome when people are taking free shots at you. I like to think of a jump pack as more of a 'cut-to-the-chase-accelerator', if I had to give it another name."

"Optical camouflage, huh?" She said curiously. "That should put you in a pretty good position to get some tricky shots for next time. Would that even extend to your shield?"

[Claymore Wren]

He thought about it for a minute. "Yeah, death from above is a fun tactic, that's for sure. I guess we've going to have to get better piloting..." He laughed. Seeing that he was guessing Soleene didn't have her helmet off too often, "So, I can enhance my agility in the Force with enough practice, but what are gonna do?" He gave her a wink. "And, only Raven and Jyress know..."

"Hum." He furrowed his brow thinking. "I should be able to configure the system to do that. If nothing, I can improvise like I did checking out the crater with covering our tracks." He put his arm up to his heart, and had smug smile that showed he was proud of that idea. "I might see about an upgrade called Shadowsheath, but they are very rare."

[Soleene Stryss]

"The Force?" Soleene said with a questioning tilt of her head. "Like, you're serious? Personally, I wasn't thinking too fancy with the jetpack thing. Just boom, get up in their face and figure the rest later on. That said...I could probably stand to learn a thing or two about it from some other Mandalorians with experience so it looks like I might have a plan."

She nodded at the mention of the upgrade. "Something tells me that's going to take more than just branches to make you blend in...Yeah, where do you propose to pick up something like that? At the end of the galaxy? Sounds kind of legendary with a name like that."

[Claymore Wren]

"Yes, seriously. Its a work in progress." He looks at her quizzical look. "But, I did practice the move a few times while I was in Death Watch. I was far better with black-ops slicer and 'locksmith' jobs. Jetpacks draw too much attention. Now there I'm the support fire, jetpack might be good to have."

He looked at his shield sitting near the legs of his new armor. He's been hammering out the dents form the the fight we've had been it with Kestu. He smiles, "I'm sure that the camo system will work when it's on my back, and should mean I can get the drop on people. Then pull it out before the shooting back happening." He looked back at Soleene, "Yeah, that trick was a something I picked in Death Watch."

[Soleene Stryss]

"I don't think they ever got around to making stealthy jetpacks but that's probably part of the appeal of it all, sort of a Mandalorian calvary to put the fear into your enemies and send them running in the open to make themselves easier targets?" She chuckled. "At least, what's how I imagined it at least. It would have been pretty nice to have that sort of support earlier on in our fight with Ketsu."

She nodded soundly at that. "And probably a few other things? I guess it should have been obvious that you had some of the Death Watch rubbing off on you from that fight. There I was just stumbling to get the upper hand while you looked like you had a handle on things."

[Claymore Wren]

"Stealth jetpacks would be a feat the say the least. The only way I know of no light from the pack while in flight would be a blackhole." He laughed at that idea. "Maybe a fuel mixture could do it, but I can't think of any off the top of my head."

Clay turned his head. "Well, actually I worked hard to get my Marksmanship back over the past year. Revan loves talking about how bad it was when I came to the Enclave... But, yeah, you never loss that edge. Once Bo-Katan left Death Watch, went back to Clan Wren. I probably should have tried to join Night Owls, but ya can't change the past."

"A black hole and fuel, huh? That sounds like a recipe that can't go wrong." She remarked a touch dryly and then waved off her hand. "I'm sure you could consider something like that a personal side project. I personally don't really need it as I'm not all that great with the stealth stuff. Maybe Varina? But I'm not too sure how she feels on the issue of a jetpack. She seems like a real minimalist."

"Raven did that to you?" She gave a few slow nods at that, sounding especially curious. "So you managed to hang out with Bo-Katan herself? Fight alongside her shoulder to shoulder? How was she like?"

[Claymore Wren]

"Ha, blackholes can't be harnessed. That was a nerd joke." He looked at Soleene, "The fuel though, might be something to look in to. You don't want a smoke trail either for stealth. Yeah, Raven and Varina are pretty minimalist. Nothing wrong with that. I like to build stuff, so that mean you end up with lots of clutter."

"It's a friendly ribbing over drinks. Nothing mean." He shrugged a bit. "No, I've never met her before. I was low racking plebeian slicer at the time. But, I did watch her impassioned speeches, sometimes in person. She was really something special." He thought for a moment. "Valkyrie is a Night Owl. I should have ask if Bo-Katan was even alive still."

[Soleene Stryss]

"Raven, a minimalist, really?" She said with a slight tilt of her head. It was probably hard to tell considering that she was dressed in Mandalorian armour and the rest of them. "Now that you've got your beskar'gam, I'm pretty sure that must be giving you like a blank canvas to work on and you've got a lot of options to build atop of it in the future."

"Still an honour, to see her in person." She nodded at that and then another thought appeared in her head. "Night Owl...Are we talking about the same night owl we saw at the crater or someone entirely different?"

[Claymore Wren]

He looked down at his armor. "I have pretty ideas. I want to keep the white with purple 'tattoo' side of my old helmet the same, but do the crest of Clan Wren. I will keep to the blue and green, but no more Death Watch crest."

"Yes, she was in Night Owl armor. I guess she might not to the original owner of the armor..." He thought about for a minute, then back the present. "So what are you going to do for your armor? Same paint job as the old one?"

[Soleene Stryss]

She tilted her head at that thought. "Do you think that she might have stolen it from another Night Owl? Wouldn't that be a grave crime on its own?"

"As for my armour, I think I might just stick with my old design for now. Purple is kind of my colour and I don't have too many good tales or accolades to share like the others as of yet. I'm might get some more ideas down the line to change my armour so that it can tell my tales for me, in a way."

[Claymore Wren]

He gave a hand gesture of no. "I have no idea, but she was wearing the same type designs as the Night Owl in Death Watch had. Varina called Valkyrie mom, so I'm guessing she's the same one I knew of. But, it's been 10 plus years ago, and it seems like I've been all over the galaxy since then."

He gave Soleene a thoughtful look and cupped his hand on hers, "You'll get your stories soon enough. Hopefully going to get a good one tomorrow. Most of the good stories I have to tell are of crazy racing or over the past year or so. I did what I thought was best for Mando'ade in Death Watch and House Vizlsa... And, here I am." He put down to the workbench. "If Carid wants to hurt any of you, he'll have to kill me first."

(OCC: I total was going to have a girlfriend with a Zeltron at one time in Clay's background for Kamda1, but was working on build background was so last minute. lol)

[Soleene Stryss]

"Considering that nobody else said anything about her, I'd think that she's likely more earned the look than not." Or they had likely bigger fish to fry than check the validity of someone's armour at the moment.

Soleene gave his hand a grasp in return and there was probably a smirk in her tone through the helmet. "Oh? Did I sound down for a moment? Sorry...but I don't doubt I will, heh. Just assuming that it'll take months or years of grinding before I can come up with a few of them. I'm sure there are a few of them already that I'm overlooking We've done a lot already. You've done a lot, more than just racing...and you're really making it sound casual. But yeah, we're going to bag Carid and end this business, I'm sure of it."

[Claymore Wren]

"Yes, I only knew to Valkyrie's existence, but I didn't meet her until days ago."

"No, it just seemed like you a little needed reassurance is all... Or something. I'm better with tech than people, so I may get feelings in the force wrong." He shrugged. "I'm still not used to being around non-racing type people. I've did more than a few covert ops and business deals go sideways. Racing can get you around cutting edge tech that is other purposes than going faster. So, its a great place to be when Death Watch or House Vizlsa needed a part of new tech or blueprints. I could build more in my spare time as well. The big shootouts were pretty much just with Death Watch, but I was in a few after that. I'm a high tech thief that loves racing. And, I'm okay with that."

[Soleene Stryss]

"That's fine, I do appreciate a little reassurance. Thank you, Clay." She nodded on that note. "It does sound like you're something of a utility knife almost, especially with your storied career and the number of paths available to you. You'll have your hands full on what to pursue after all of this. I still think it would be neat to see what comes out of your racing plans in the future."

[Claymore Wren]

"Ha. Yeah, I'm not one for the lime light. I like being a mechanic very more so. But, it is a rush being onboard. Soleene, you have given me much to think about. I have enjoyed this conversation with you." He gave a nod of yes. "Hum, I feel like we spent a lot of time talking about me and crazy life... I would like to hear more about you some day. We do seem to be like like-minded in some things at least."

[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene chuckle on that note. "Sorry about that, I didn't want to make it seem like I was putting you under a microscope or anything. Seeing your work and fighting skills tells me a lot about you but that doesn't tell everything. I just figured that we've hung around enough times by now but I never really got to talk to you, so I should pick your head when it comes to your history and your aspirations. You were a major help with the upgrades too, thanks again for that."

She sighed softly as she looked upwards to think about something. "As for me...I guess it's pretty obvious that I'm the rookie of the group, so my Mandalorian accolades are few. I'm a simple girl who appreciates simple solutions to all problems, especially complex ones. I left Zeltros several years ago and took to wandering the galaxy long before I wore the helmet. It's was a bit of a complex situation and I'd rather think of it as a lifetime ago, this is my new life now."

[Claymore Wren]

"Oh, its nothing. Yes, I do still away from talking about my time with Death Watch and House Vizlsa, that is true. I'm not afraid of talking about it, but there are enough people want to hear about those times... So, until it's knowledge for a mission, I don't really talk it." He smiled. "You are part of my team, and it behooves me to help you with your armor and gear." He gave her a wink, because he's not someone that needed an ulterior motives like that to help.

"Yeah, Arkanian feels like a lifetime ago too. My family died in a huge bombing, so that was a pretty easy reason to leave the planet..."

[Soleene Stryss]

Soleene didn't quite take her helmet off but she looked downwards at the gravity of that and allowed a quiet pause before speaking. "...I couldn't imagine how that would truly feel but I think that feels...awful. That's pretty terrible to lose family to something like that, more than enough for me to turn my back to that planet system. I'm sorry it happened to you."

[Claymore Wren]

"It was 18 years ago, and I've made I'm peace with it years ago. I was just trying to relate with you, not be all about me again..." He said half apologetically. "I was not happy in those days, being a mining engineer like my parents. I miss them, but I don't dwell on it. And a few members of Death Watch, who were from Clan Wren. And that was the beginning of being a Mandalorian."
