Topple the Tower [Day 9, LA]

[Meiyokashi]

Giving some extra prep-time to themselves Mylar and Mara worked the better part of the morning checking in on a few possible angles and doing some recon. They hope they've gathered as much as they can but there's still a lot they need to plan out, and be ready for. Tomorrow was the big day where it needed to happen but they were no experts in this field. When it came to breaking into the spire, learning what Dr. Novar has been up to, and potentially saving Mara's brother, they needed help.

[The SCaT Droid]

A b1 battle droid sits calmly by whatever computer set up is in the hangout, hooked up and meditating until others arrive.

[Tenzing]

Tenzing was there too, although he wasn't plugged in to anything. Helping Mara get her brother back was going to be tricky, so they were probably going to need his expertise. Fortunately he had a few new friends he might be able to bring along for the party.

"Good job I brought some of Dol's finest." He set the box down on the table. "It's not an operation without doughnuts and kaff." The travel flasks of kaff were handed out to lifeforms. SCaT received an apologetic shrug.

[Mylar]

"You are always going to be my favorite for this very reason," he says as he walks over to Tens, giving him a friendly nudge before taking the kaff and collecting himself a donut.

[Zimrzala Skalirz]

After all they had gone through, Zim was definitely going to be here for planning whatever needed planning for their stand against the Imperials, so there she was - for now just hearing the others out.

[Torr Po]

Having had a look around and been semi brought up to speed. Torr found a quiet corner to stand in and relaxed. His whole reason for being here was to cause mischief for the empire - and he was more than willing to take on any roll to achieve that goal.

[The SCaT Droid]

Skimming through his memories, SCaT fails to find relevant incidents related to the Spire, turns out space elevators and skyscrapers are different things. So SCaT disconnects and focuses in on the meeting proper. "Tenzing and Zim, good to see you guys again! And someone I haven't met yet but saw fighting those crazy guys attacking the hospital?"

[Torr Po]

Torr regards the droid with an expression that can best be described as torn. Every inch of him wanted to pounce given his own history with droids, save for his logical mind which understood that not all robots are bad.

"You... were at the hospital too?" He cocked his head to one side. After a moment he remembers, "Ahh you must have been the sniper!" He thinks back, "Hmmm, no that was a girl." He gives up. "Sorry I can't remember. Most of that day is a blur, I got pretty wasted that night. Torr Po, some time bounty hunter, rest of the time mischief maker."

"I was at the hospital proper getting out patients who were stuck under rubble. Also took a position on the roof and called out incoming rockets, that probably saved quite a few lives even if it did cause a bit of a panic at first. I am SCaT, an old droid who is trying to correct the sins of the past."

[Mara Kayde]

"Alright.." she says, stepping forward and looking to those here. A smile plays across her expression, "Thank you all for coming."

"In front of us is the riskiest task I've proposed yet but.. I believe it's the right move. We learned recently that the Empire has been scanning through people in the Lower City for some unknown purpose, needing them for something. What we know is the trail leads us back to the Spire and it's in the Spire that we'll be able to uncover more of what we need to know. As well.. we might also find my brother, who is connected to this in some way. If we find him, or anyone else that is being held, we'll save them. Leaving people behind whether found or brought in with us isn't an option," she says, a resolve coming through in her tone.

"I'm not- we're not infiltration specialists. So, as you are all more galaxy experienced than I- I would like to be able to look to you all. I would like to know what skills we might use best to find a way into the spire and meet our goals. I can.. help guide as much as I can, but ultimately it will be the choice of you in this room who determine what route within is best for what we have to bring to bear."

"Just- know my preference is that we stick to non-violence as much as we are able. Killing only worsens the situation for everyone."

"So besides having tools that allow for different infiltrating tactics like quiet vertical movement and being able to see through walls, I also am proficient in many skills

[Tenzing]

Tenzing gave a cheerful nod to SCaT and Zim. "Good to see you both." Looking at the new guy he nodded. "I'm Tenzing, nice to meet you."

When Mara finished her talk Tens nodded thoughtfully. "There are a couple of options. We should try to get as much data as we can. Got a few contacts I can talk to. I've been in the Spire, back when I was on the force, but it was a long time ago so I don't know how much use that would be now."

It occurred to him that there was something he was uniquely positioned to do, but that could wait.

[Torr Po]

He downgrades from torn to bemused, "Sins of the past? An interesting vernacular for a droid. I am honored to meet you, SCaT. I hope we might speak more in time."

Looking at the new guy he nodded. "I'm Tenzing, nice to meet you."

Torr blinks a few times, "R- right, Torr Po, sorry your face reminds me of an old friend for some reason."

by the maker how many jedi can I find in one place? Is this the outer rim or coruscant?
"Likewise Mr. Po, it is a shame we've been so busy these last few weeks to even have a conversation. "

[Torr Po]

"I'm not- we're not infiltration specialists. So, as you are all more galaxy experienced than I- I would like to be able to look to you all. I would like to know what skills we might use best to find a way into the spire and meet our goals. I can.. help guide as much as I can, but ultimately it will be the choice of you in this room who determine what route within is best for what we have to bring to bear."

Torr listens and waits for the others to say their piece. "Well, if a non-violent enforcer is needed I am well equipped as a hand-to-hand specialist. However, stealth is not one of my strong suits." He continues matter of factly, "It should be said that the empire is merciless in its pursuit of any 'treasonous' transgressors. Be they non-violent or otherwise. It matters little whether blood is shed, hearts and minds will not change and any move on the spire will be met with disproportionate violence. The best outcome you can expect is success, which would kindle the embers of hope among the down-trodden."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"I can sneak in and out of places fairly well." Jaxom spoke up. He'd been sitting quietly and simply listening. "I prefer talking my way in, but I'm probably better at the other thing."

[Mara Kayde]

"I have to disagree," she says, looking to Torr. Resolve in her voice, "In how you speak, it may matter little to the Empire but for us? For us it matters all the more if blood is spilled. Yes, the Empire may still respond with violence that we cannot avoid but to enact violence ourselves.. to have success gained in blood would not inspire the hope we wish. It would only inspire further violence, hatred between people. While that can be used against the Empire and it is on many other planets by many other people not here. Here, our goal is to truly inspire the people and to give them hope."

"Blood on our hands will only complicate that. I understand we must defend ourselves.. but let's not strike the first blow if we can avoid it, please," she says, looking to those in the room. Focusing on Jaxom, "You'll be invaluable in this operation than Jaxom, thank you for coming and.." she hesitates a moment, "I haven't had the chance before but.. welcome home. I'm glad we'll be fighting on behalf of our home together."

[Tenzing]

Torr blinks a few times, "R- right, Torr Po, sorry your face reminds me of an old friend for some reason."

Tens smirked a little. "Oh I get that a lot."

He looked over to Mara. "Which brings me to the point. Might be an easy way to get me in. A little makeover. Some legit looking documents. I can walk right in the front door."

"I can sneak in and out of places fairly well." Jaxom spoke up. He'd been sitting quietly and simply listening. "I prefer talking my way in, but I'm probably better at the other thing."

Tenzing looked at Jaxom and nodded. "Talking or sneaking sounds like a smart plan. We can save the other thing for if we need to bail in a hurry."

[Jaxom Ursae]

"I "I haven't had the chance before but.. welcome home. I'm glad we'll be fighting on behalf of our home together."

"Thank you." he nodded. "You and the others have been very welcoming. It means a to me, that I can be here."

"Assuming we are doing more talking to get in than sneaking in, I'll need to disguise myself as a maintenance droid. I have the equipment to pull the part off, but I'll need someone to 'own' me."
