Cool Wedding and All That

[Varina Ordo]

"Oh," Varina said, her cheeks turning even redder than when she'd asked about the whole marriage thing. That still didn't really make sense to her but maybe observing the couple on Bellionas would change things.

Besides, she wasn't going to have the talk with Raven, was she?

"I don't think I've met Kagr... but wait, does Praxton actually like me enough to help me out?" She didn't quite like the phrasing of "looking after her" but she wasn't going to actively contest that. And riding with Manny... if only hitching rides was simpler than choosing two awkward options!

The blush was an unusual feature to see on Varina. To Raven, the younger woman had always seemed so cocky and confident, she didn't think she'd see the day that Varina Ordo would be flustered.

"Of course he would. He knows you're important to me, sister - my friends and allies are also his." And it was the fact that Varina was still in many ways a child, that was a factor. And hadn't she been chosen by Mand'alor as his foundling too...?

"I'm not surprised you haven't met him. He's a quiet one who keeps to himself most of the time. But he's quite dependable and skilled."

Varina might have been chosen as a foundling but there was something about her and father figure types (or older guys in general apparently) that didn't get along. "Hm... I suppose I could ask him about my mother too. And I'm glad he takes you, like, seriously and all that. Guess that wouldn't be a good start to a marriage otherwise..."

She shrugged. "As long as he doesn't try to force me to do anything, then I'm sure we'll get along."

"I would never have accepted a partner who would not treat me as their equal," she said with a tone that was mixed with firmness and also a fondness.

"Mando'ade aren't soldiers, but warriors. We don't follow orders as such, but it is the way to heed the words of those who are the strongest among us. Those who have proven themselves worthy as leaders." She crossed her arms casually, a posture she felt comfortable with. "Praxton won't force you to do anything... unless it would be to save your life, I guess...? We both know you can be rather stubborn," Raven teased with a friendly chuckle.

Raven, strong as ever. Varina simply nodded at that and hoped that one day she could find someone special like that. But oh, she'd have to be nice to that person too...

"Oh, well, I meant Kagr too for not bossing me around." She rolled her eyes at the accusation of being stubborn, though she made no move to contest it. "Maybe it'd be good to organize more into... soldier-types. I mean, not like Gar Saxon has it going on, but you know... a bit less random? I dunno, it's not like I'd join up with anything like that."

Raven chuckled and shook her head. "You do seem to have an issue with being told what to do. It's not bossing you around when people with more experience tell you what is the best course of action. But maybe you should talk to Mand'alor about your ideas for organization, hm? He's not unapproachable."

[Varina Ordo]

"Yeah, but, they expect me to just listen to them just because they have more experience. Sometimes it can blind them," Varina said with the utmost confidence of a teen who knew how everything worked. "I shouldn't have to approach him on this stuff anyways. He should just know what to do, what's right from wrong."

She was definitely unaware of how bratty she was sounding...

"Well then, since Varina the Great has all the answers," Raven spread out her hands with an amused smile, "what will she do to remove the Saxon control of our homeworlds?"

[Varina Ordo]

"Huh?" Varina furrowed her brow and then looked away. "I didn't think about that yet. But I'm sure I can come up with something."

[Raven Cadera]

Raven tutted. "What's this? Surely you have grand plans for the future, no?"

[Varina Ordo]

"I have ideas but it's not like they're ready to be presented or anything like that. I've had other stuff to take care of." Both true and not true. She was, after all, most concerned with her family at the moment. But for now, it was just excuses.

"Sure, sure... just make sure you share them with Mand'alor. Show him how it's really done," Raven gave Varina a playful wink. Mostly it was because a part of her envied Varina's more carefree life. Or rather, how carefree it had been compared to hers.

Varina shrugged again, her totally-sassy self coming back. "Yeah, I guess I could. It'd be up to him to listen though." She clicked her tongue and stuffed her hands into her pockets. "Anyways, I shouldn't be keeping you, should I? You have other guests to talk to and all that. I might bounce soon... or take that ride, like you said."

Even all that casualness, she was still lingering there...?

"He listens to wise counsel," she advised her. "But, you also need to prove yourself. Every step."

Raven pushed her hair back from her face. "Heh, I think I'll take a walk myself, then turn in for the night, once my silly husband figures he's done patrolling the area to make sure everything's as it should be. You go have fun, Varina."

[Varina Ordo]

"Yeah, yeah, I guess he listens sometimes," Varina said, rolling her eyes.

She gave a thin smile and a thumbs up before moving to go around Raven and whatnot. But as she passed, she patted Raven's shoulder and was trying to look all cool. "I'll try not to make too big of a mess here."
